The Problem
Quaker Steak and Lube was using
completely manual processes to manage
invoicing across its dispersed locations.
Invoices were sent to individual stores,
approved by the kitchen managers, and
then manually entered into the restaurant’s
MenuLink inventory data system. These
invoices were then FedExed to corporate
headquarters, and manually re-entered into
the MAS90 accounts payable system.
Not only did this process require tedious
double-entry, but left the organization with
liability concerns as they had no visibility
into true inventory or spend until all inputs
were made.
The Miria Solution
Miria was able to help Quaker Steak and
Lube streamline data entry and put process
controls in place by implementing
its Active Pay and Active Mailroom solutions
for the company. These applications were
fully integrated with its existing MenuLink
and MAS90 systems, all running on the
ECM platform from IBM. eFax was also
implemented as a service to create emails
that could then be ingested by Datacap.
As a smaller-scale organization,
Quaker Steak and Lube was particularly
helped by the economics of Miria’s
Cloud-based offering, which allowed them
to reap the efficiency and visibility benefits
of Miria’s solutions without needing to
procure additional expensive infrastructure
themselves.
The Results
Now, Quaker Steak and Lube can
leverage intelligent capture to alleviate
the time burden and errors of manual
data entry. This frees up managers’ time

reduces shipping costs by enabling fax
input from all field locations for scanning
at the corporate office.

secondary reviews of entries, while
