2. World Wildlife Fund - WWF
The WWF was founded on the 29th of April 1961, in the small town of Morges
in Switzerland.
Since their formation, WWF have received a total revenue of £62.9 million.
This consisted of:
Membership/donation (£36.1 million)
Legacies (£11.7 million)
Corporate donations/sponsorships (£6.8 million)
Ect.
The aims of The WWF are:
To stop deforestation.
To stop hunting/poaching.
To stop Ivory Traders.
3. Wildlife Conservation Society – (WCS)
The WCS was founded on 26th April 1895, under the original name: New York
Zoological Society, NYZS.
Their total income since their formation is £177.1 million, consisting of:
Contributions / gifts + grants : £56.9 million.
Government donations : £55.5 million.
Program service revenue (advertising) : £44.7 million.
The aims of the WCS are:
To learn about the natural world, and to use this knowledge to convince people
to support the charity.
“Discover, Protect, Inspire”
Inform people of the importance of conserving wildlife.
4. The Wildlife Trusts.
The Wildlife Trust was founded in May 1912, by Charles Rothschild. This led to
the beginning of nature conservation in the UK, as we know it.
The Wildlife Trusts is actually a collaboration of 47 other charities from
around the UK whose primary concern is the conservation of nature within
their own area.
Aims:
“Work for nature on all fronts.”
Rescue and Restore places for wildlife and people, and encourage others to do the
same.
Their overall mission is to create Living Landscapes, to secure Living Seas and to
inspire people to value and take action for nature.
5. How this will help me.
From researching these charities and organisations I have learnt a lot about
how charities advertise and gain support for their cause.
I have also learnt about how their websites are designed to advertise their
campaign and to persuade you to donate to their cause.
The information that I have learnt will aid me when it is my turn to make a
charity website of my own.
