• Autorun programs are necessary for USB devices to work
properly, without them we could not read all the
information we keep on them.
• USB devices and pendrives are usually infected by trojan and
spy virus which act when autorun programs start working.

• Copy data
• Delete data
• Disrupt the performance of computers and devices
4. Trojan virus consequences
• The person controlling the trojan virus can:
• Have remote control over computers
• Prevent malicious programs from being deleted
• Steal different data and information
• Use personal information
• Spy the user while using the computer
5. A simple trick
• Create a folder in your USB device called Autorun.inf
• Create 3 archives with no extension called recycler, driver
and restore. It is necessary to eliminate the .txt extension in
the folder’s options
• If a virus tries to infect our USB device now it will find a
conflict when copying the archives as it already has a folder
with the same name. It will find impossible to copy the
virus’ folders, so it won’t work.
6. Use an antivirus
• If you know that a certain computer is infected, do not
connect any device on it.
• If you need to connect your device, use an antivirus first on
your computer.
• If you suspect that your USB device is infected with a virus,
run an antivirus on it before disconnecting ing it.
7. Protect your computer
• If your pendrive is infected you have to protect your computer so
it cannot get infected.
• Click on the «run» button and write «REDEGIT»
• Go to:

• Find the «NoDriveTypeAutoRun» and clic on «modify» using the
left button on mouse.
• Modify the existing value ( 0x00000091) for 0x00000095
8. Protect your USB
• Try to use always your own USB device and make sure that
you buy it in a trustworthy shop.
• If you are using a promotional USB device, make sure it is
not infected before using it. Again, if the brand which gave
you the USB is trustable, your computer will be safe.
• Use an antivirus on your USB device any time you use it in a
computer diferent from yours or when your computer has
been infected.
