The theatre doesn’t just consist of the actors, there is a lot more to
it with a lot of other jobs that contribute to the whole process of a
performance. A few examples of the jobs are:
Actor/Actress – is a person who acts in a dramatic production and who
works in film, television, and radio or in this case, theatre.
Theatre Director – oversees and orchestrates the mounting of a
theatre production.
Theatre Producer – decides what productions a particular theatre will
stage, arranges the finance and assembles the creative team.
Theatrical Technician – is a person who operates technical
equipment and systems.
Vocal Coach – instructs on how to improve singing or to help adapt the
character and voice of someone from another country.
Lighting Director – works together with other employees to create an
overall ‘look’ for the show in response to the text, while keeping in mind the
issues of visibility, safety and cost.
Set Designer – create an overall ‘look’ of a theatre.
Costume Designer – is a person who is responsible for designing
costumes for a production.
Sound Designer – The sound designer works with other employees to
create the overall, consistent soundtrack that exploits the expressive
possibilities of the sound medium.
Stage Manager – They manage rehearsals, actors, directors, designers,
props and costume fittings, as well as managing performances on stage and
leasing with the box office and front of house staff.
