The application of IT within healthcare is changing rapidly.
Driven by initiatives such as Patient First, Integrated Digital
Care Technology and the Nursing Technology Funds, health

intelligent and scalable
‘packages’ that are based on

Deployed upon a virtualised
platform, MDaaS delivers

device and system agnostic,

between PC’s, tablets and

its applications and data are

  • 2. The application of IT within healthcare is changing rapidly. Driven by initiatives such as Patient First, Integrated Digital Care Technology and the Nursing Technology Funds, health organisations are re-evaluating resources, processes and behaviours that lead to more qualitative care and patient experiences. Put simply, by utilising IT effectively, clinical and nursing staff can spend more time with patients, treat more of them faster, and do all of this without increasing risk or cost. Block’s Medical Desktop as a Service (MDaaS) has been developed to specifically resolve known challenges that front-line staff face every day. These include removing long log-in delays, reducing multiple passwords, extending data and system access when mobile and keeping information secure. Designed with the clinical user front of mind, Block provide intelligent and scalable ‘packages’ that are based on role type within a health setting, speeding up provisioning and adoption into the workplace. Always On Access Providing reliable and consistent access to information and applications is vital if clinical staff are to remain effective wherever they are. Making it easy to switch between tablet, PC and smartphone without closing your applications or session greatly empowers performance. Deployed across two high availability Data Centres, the service is ‘always on’, removing down-time risk or data outages. MDaaS’s reliability not only improves service availability, it also helps reduce human input errors too, as transcription from paper records is eliminated.
