Education, where he is currently vice president, group medical director. In
his free time, Craig Gelband follows the Miami Heat, his favorite NBA team.
Heat general manager Pat Riley and head coach Erik Spoelstra led the
team to a respectable 41-41 record during the 2016-17 season and a ninth-
place finish in the NBA’s Eastern Conference. While this was worse than its
third-place finish in the prior season, the team still delivered top-notch play
for its fans.
Left-handed guard Goran “The Dragon” Dragic, who led the team in scoring
with an average of over 20 points per game, played in 73 of the team’s 82
games last season. At 31 years old, Dragic- a native of Ljubljana, Slovenia -
is an eight-year veteran of the NBA.
The Heat’s second-leading scorer was Hassan Whiteside, who averaged a
solid 17 points per game and played in all but five of the team’s games.
Whiteside, who is also known as “Agent Block” or “Count Blockula,” racked
up an impressive 14.1 rebounds per game. The four-year veteran from
Marshall University was drafted in the second round by the Sacramento
Kings in 2010.
