2. THE AMAZON HAS BEEN STEADILY DECLING IN SIZE SINCE
THE 1960S, DESTROYING ONE OF OUR MOST IMPORTANT
ECOSYSTEMS IN THE WORLD.
WITHOUT THE RAINFOREST, OUR PLANET WILL LOSE
ONE OF THE LARGESTS ABSORBANTS OF CARBON DIOXIDE.
IT TURNS CARBON DIOXIDE INTO OXYGEN, WHICH WE
NEED TO BREATHE. WITHOUT TREES, WE WON’T SUR
VIVE.
1. ILLEGAL LOGGING: 60-80% of
logging done in Brazil is illegal. It is mainly
done for profit.
2. Cattle Ranching: People are clearing land
to ranch cattle. China is also outsourcing
into Brazil to raise cattle.
