Eco Leadership Facilitators (ELFs)

facing today’s Earth, and how many of these issues have anthropogenic causes
- Inspired members to use local opinions,public data, interpersonal skills, and networking to build strong
platforms on which campaigns aimed at institutions or unethical legislation could be built
Environmental Task Force
- Empowered UMBC students to prompt environmental changes in the Baltimore area by interacting with the
local government, petitioning, and making their voices heard on proposed regulations
- Encouraged campaigners to seek assistance from national organizations with similar goals
Students for Environmental Awareness
- Created a social environment full of opportunities for the University community to connect through
environmental appreciation, protection, and cleanup
Geography and Environmental Systems Council of Majors
- Connected with other students and faculty within the Department of Geography and Environmental Systems
- Established a social network with other Environmental Science and Environmental Studies majors
Running Club
- Maintained a community of runners with a variety of experience levels and distance preferences
- Attended weekly practices and monthly meets to compete with runners outside of the University
- Hosted social gatherings to help connect members and fostera team mentality
