Listen to what they want, not what you think they should want
In 2008 Nationwide Children’s Hospital approached us with a whole new wave of resources. Together we formed Healthy Neighborhoods Healthy Families Realty Collaborative and began to transform an entire neighborhood of 35 blocks.
We are acquiring every blighted vacant house and renovating as a new affordable owner occupied home. At the same time, offering grants of up to $20,000 to existing homeowners to improve their properties. So far we have improved over 25% of all the properties and cut the number of vacant blights houses by about 60%.
The total reinvestment just in this one target area has now exceeded $16 million. There is a divine economy of abundance.
