Success Profile Research Paper
In my success profile, there are some things that are still the same and different in this essay I will be talking about the different things that I have
improved on and the stuff I still have to improve on .
The things that I improved on the most was my decision making and my empathy. I am going to tell you how much I improved and what I think that
helped me improve on these things
My decision making went from a 6 to a 11. What I think improved my decision making was that I had to make a lot of decisions and from those
decisions I found out what was the right decision and what was I shouldn't have made.
My empathy went

The first step to being successful, no matter what you're trying to succeed, is to recognize your weak points, your strengths, and your limits. I myself
know that I have several, and when I say several, I mean several, weak points when it comes to writing papers. The first and most lethal to a student
who wishes to be well, is procrastination. I will always put writing a paper off till the last minute. In fact, I'm doing it right now as I'm writing this.
I'm already doing what I say I'm not supposed to be doing. You can probably tell that I'm off to a great start. The next on the list of things that will
brutally murder a student who wishes to do well in a class are distractions. Of course there is a multitude of things that can distract...show more

I didn't really do that in this paper, so you can relax, but in future essays, you had better watch out. You might also want to watch out for a particular
mood or feeling in my writings as well. This is because I listen to music whenever I have to write, because I am normally very easily distracted by
noises (and shiny objects). The former of these things I overcome by blasting music into my head, because it eliminates all of the external stimuli that
can derail my entire writing process. This may sound kind–of contradictory, because I'm being distracted by noise so I put on more noise. The
difference is though, that music is more of a background noise to me, while conversation always grabs my attention. Something else that grabs my
attention is video; if I ever listen to music if has to be from iTunes and absolutely not from YouTube. If I know that there is something visual that
goes along with what I'm hearing, then I am just pulled into watching the video. This is extremely bad for when you're trying to write a paper,
especially if you're like me and you have to look at what you're typing as you go along. Something that I can also do to help my writing is to always
read what I wrote out loud. When I say out loud, I mean out loud! This will help me catch some of the grammatical errors that anyone can easily
make, and I can also make sure that what I am writing makes sense. Something else that can help me

My Success Story Essay
My success to education
Blondie Torres
ENG. 121
Concetta Williams
July 18, 2011
Looking back at the past eleven weeks I have grown and learned so much here at Ashford University. I never thought that I would actually
accomplish my educational dreams and be successful in my life, but I definitely have proved, myself wrong. I love knowing that I am doing great
and I really try to do my best in completing my homework on time, with the occasions of a few speed bumps along the way.
I decided to return to school to further my education for many important reasons. I have struggled tremendously in the past with my five children and I
wanted to change that life style for good. I am so very tired of trying to make ends meet and not...show more content...
I decided to just go for it and I am so glad I did because I know now that I have overcome that fear and I feel as if I can accomplish anything and
everything. I can also say that I have matured in many ways as a mother, first time college student, and being a single mother of five. My kids had to
adjust to the new routine as well. They did not understand at first but eventually they came around and little by little they gave me the time I needed
to study and do homework. I still have to overcome a few obstacles in order to complete my degree program, just like I had to overcome all the
changes that come with me returning to school.
One of the main obstacles I must achieve here at Ashford University is to listen, learn, and to be obedient in all the discussions and the
assignments asked of me. Last but not least I have to say I have to overcome all negative feelings I get from time to time to complete all my
educational goals. I need to be prepared mentally and physically for anything that is being asked of me from my instructors. I feel that I need to
keep an open mind as well because I know all the feedback from classmates and instructors will be of great help in making me a better person and
learner. There are a few things I must do to overcome all these certain obstacles here in college in order to have a successful completion of my degree.
I will have to keep doing all these helpful strategies that have gotten me this far. For example, using the

My Definition of Success Essay example
"Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value."
– Albert Einstein ––
My personal definition would not include "stuff" at all. No one will care (and neither will you) what kind of car your drove or how big your house
was when you're on your deathbed. Your thoughts will not be about your job, the office or how much money you made.
Personal success is defined by how content and enjoyable your life is. That is not to say that challenges and disappointments aren't included in this. A
rich, eventful and challenging life doing what you enjoy and positively affecting others seems to me to be just about right. Find a job you love and
you'll never work another day in your life. I know I won't. In my...show more content...
Past, present and future are all important to keep in perspective. Looking back and not having regrets is extremely satisfying. Your current situation and
your contentment with it are also very important, and having goals and milestones to work toward in the future keeps you motivated and keeps life
interesting and challenging.
In this age in which we live, success is generally measured by the amount of money you earn, or the amount of wealth or power or number of
promotions you've accumulated. I find that the older I grow, the more I view the people who are most happy and content with their lives as the most
successful. Rich, poor or in between, they've tended to treat life as a journey, not a final destination. They took that trip when they were 25 even
though they really couldn't afford it, they ordered the $55 bottle of wine with their filet because they knew that even though it was expensive it would
enhance the meal so much more than water would. They took a chance on a start–up company, moved to Europe or Asia and experienced things that
most people only dream about. If they managed to grow wealthy from the experience, so much the better. As long as moderation with most things is
practiced, things won't spin out of control.
Bottom line rules for a successful life:
Always try new things.
Listen twice as much as you talk.
Travel as much as you can comfortably afford.
Faith and family always come first –

Reflective Essay On Personal Success
There is a connection between personal success and the factors that are present in the beginning, during, and those that develop along the way to
guarantee success. Intrinsic motivation, self–efficacy, time management, and academic preparation are pertinent factors and play an imperative role. To
prevent my motivation from burning out in this program, my program, I perceive it as many minor tasks that involve careful planning, hours of
nurture, and different degrees of time management. Keeping my eyes on the little goals that I will accomplish along the way will lead to the grand
goal: my Master's in English. Reminding myself of past educational accomplishments like when I was a single parent and was borrowing loan after
loan to complete my degrees serves as a daily motivator. A recent preview of my future courses also sparked a fire in my soul and enthusiasm. This
program will also involve stress. Something that I do not always handle well, but avoiding too much on my plate, asking for help from my family,
professors, and seeking the help of the Writing Center Tutors and Library personnel, to name a few, assists in minimizing the stress and prevents me
from losing concentration. Spreading out my reading, assessments, writing assignments into smaller tasks lets me focus on quality. For example, this
self–assessment report I approached it in segments that involved developing it one paragraph at a time. I spread out the work versus trying to tackle it
all at once.

Essay On Happiness And Success
Although happiness is not merely associated with success, truly successful individuals first find happiness and passion for their life and career. Being
successful does not necessarily mean that one has saved a lot of money or lives a luxurious life. It may mean that one has talented children, good
spouse, attained high academic performance, has promising career, for example. The fact that success brings satisfaction in life makes a person feel
happier because he/she can experience joy from many things that come with personal fulfillment. Although some people may argue that success does
not provide happiness, various factors have shown that successful people are also the happiest.
Having succeeded in various aspects in life means that one...show more content...
Such people will always remain happy because they enjoy what they learn to improve what they have achieved.
Happiness comes when one has attained what he/she wants to attain. People who fail to achieve their desired results even after struggling too much
end up being depressed or developing other symptoms that cannot guarantee them happiness. Attaining success gives a person good moods even
during times of challenges. If, for example, one has succeeded to have a promising job, that person will keep feeling happy even during the times of
setbacks because he/she knows that his present achievements can help to overcome the obstacles that arise in his/her life.
Successful people are also the happiest because they don't expect perfection. In most cases, expecting flawlessness leads to disappointment especially
if the desired outcome does not go according to one's expectations. Successful people are always upbeat because they know that some situations may
make some things not to work according to their wishes. Unsuccessful people will always press things to happen according to their expectations. If
they fail to attain what they desire, they get dissatisfaction which leads to lack of happiness.
Being successful means one is able to overcome factors which prevent happiness. If, for example, one has worked hard in school to attain best grades,
that person will have nothing to worry about because he/she

Essay on Success: You can do it!
You can do it!
–SUCCESS–
Success is to fulfil a goal that you have set for yourself. Achievement of success involves five components: realisation, confidence, motivation, action
and perseverance. Step one is to realise your goal and how to achieve it. Step two is to have the confidence to take the steps towards your goal. Step
three is to find motivation to keep you on the path towards you goal. Step four is action, the first physical step you take in the process for success.
Step five is perseverance. On the road to success, you will most definitely come to setbacks and struggles. The only way to conquer those things and
achieve your goal is to have strong perseverance. As David Brink said, "A successful person is one who...show more content...
Without that fuel, you will go nowhere. Motivation can be a number of things. It could be family, money, fame, fear of failure; anything that
makes you strive for your goal. My motivations are to: become famous, be able to live comfortably, and to be able to raise a family. I will hold
onto these things and will keep moving towards success. Nelson struggled with his motivation, "I felt impressed with a feeling that I should never
rise in my profession. My mind was staggered with the view of the difficulties I had to surmount and the little interest [influential friends] I
possessed. I could discover no means of reaching the object of my ambition. After a long and gloomy reverie in which I almost wished myself
overboard, a sudden glow of patriotism was kindled within me and presented my king and country as my patron. 'Well then,' I exclaimed, 'I will be a
hero and confiding in providence I will brave every danger.'" He found his motivation to be patriotism to his country to be known as a hero.
Step 4 – Action
Action is the first physical step you will take in success. Action is bringing together realisation, confidence and motivation. This is when all your
planning comes together you start actually doing the things you need to get to your goal: putting your plan into action. I got into a group where we
film rock concerts. I have also signed for a course on how to use professional video and editing equipment. I

The Path To Success Essay
The path to success There are several qualities to have to be successful in college. These qualities can range from attending class to going above and
beyond what's expected. Success comes from the journey taken or the path chosen. Success also comes from being prepared. As a student, I must
step up to the challenge and find the path to success along the way. Several ways I define success is to uphold academic integrity, have the ability to
prioritize, and to motivate myself to stay on top of what needs to be accomplished. Academic integrity holds a great deal of weight. This includes
honesty in the work produced, as well as being able to accomplish the work. Responsibility in addition plays important factor into integrity. I see...show

Most of my days are long and tiring. By managing my time wisely, I normally get everything I need for school and my extra circular actives done
in a timely fashion. Sometimes it takes not hanging out with the girls, in order to make sure I get my work done. Even putting in an extra hour at
work helps me manage my time more wisely and keeps me from temptation. Which in turn forces me to focus more on my school work. Coaching
football has always been a passion of mine. Knowing how restricted my schedule is, I strive to get my boys out of practice on time everyday. That
way I can make it home to get some studying in, before I head into work. Many people believe success in college is rocket science, but actually it's
the exact opposite. College is set up for students with the most basic high school knowledge to have a chance to excel. It's the simple things that
can make or break a student's college career. Things such as going or not going to class. No brainer right? Sometimes sleep seems so much better
than eight o'clock A.M. math, but a successful college student has to have the willpower to resist the temptation to not skip out on class. College is
all about learning and not cutting corners, which only will hurt in the end. Everyday of missed class information will be lost, therefore the lack of
understanding will show on a test or pop quiz. Attendance is a key to success. If I don't go

Essay on My Definition of Success
In his poem, "What is Success," Ralph Waldo Emerson gave priceless insight when he wrote: To laugh often and much; To win the respect of
intelligent people and the affection of children; To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate
beauty, to find the best in others; To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; To know
even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded. Emerson's quote provides a paradigm of success–a model to be
admired and strived for. Emerson teaches that learning to appreciate the subtleties in life can make it that much more enjoyable and interesting. In

It's not surprising, then, that I want an exceptional career. And I'm not special in that regard. Most students share my goal. After several semesters
being surrounded by smart, ambitious Business School students, I've noticed that there are striking differences in the ways people define an
exceptional career. And the way people define success can have a big impact, not only on decisions about their first jobs, but also how much they
achieve and happy they are in their careers. As it is commonly used, the word "success" is sometimes synonymous with another word – "winning."
Success is beating the other guy and getting the big salary. Success is what happens when other people think you're a success or when you can
convince them of it. As a junior, I attended a recruiting event for the Boston Consulting Group. Hardly ten words were out of the BCG representative's
mouth before he was compelled to announce that he was a partner at the firm and that he'd gotten his MBA at Harvard. He then delivered a
presentation that was fixated on his firm's corporate mantra: "We're Winning." Some of my sharpest classmates ate it up. High achievers who knew
little about BCG Consulting before they entered the B–School competed intensely to land one of the select openings there. They aren't alone. I know of
many students who are competing for or

Hard Work Is The Key To Success Essay
Hard work is a key to Success (ESSAY) "Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard" Hard work is the key to success. To succeed in life one
must endure the challenges life presents and work to overcome these challenges to be the best possible person that one can be. We must not only
use hard work to impress those around us but also to achieve goals that we set for ourselves. If we as individuals do not work hard to succeed, then we
do not receive the same satisfaction as we would if we put in hour upon hour or even year upon year of work to achieve our goals. I believe for one to

The secret of success, as many people will agree, is hard work. Evidently, successful people are admired in the society. In many instances, they
make headlines in the mainstream media. However, such people are not many in the society. Many people still struggle to achieve their goals in
life. Others give up, all together, when they attempt without success to achieve their goals. Simply, many people are unable or unwilling to engage
in hard work for them to be successful. "To succeed, work hard and never give up and above all cherish a magnificent obsession" Many people give
up when they do not feel like pursuing their goals or when they experience setbacks at the initial stages of a project. For instance, many people trying
to lose weight may not see the results within the first few weeks of rigorous exercise and dieting. At this stage, unsuccessful people will give up. On
the other hand, hardworking people try to find ways of solving some of the setbacks– instead of giving up. More so, they put in more effort even when
they realize that have slim chances of winning. "Dreams don't work unless you

Grit Essay Examples
Grit is a predictor of academic, professional, and personal success. Grit can be defined as strength of character or the ability to overcome failure and
continue to work toward success. People with grit are not always the people with the most natural ability, but their work ethic and ability to overcome
obstacles allows them to achieve success. Grit is a very valuable characteristic in almost any venture, as it gives someone an advantage in overcoming
the inevitable obstacles they will face. However, grit is much easier adopted when an individual has a growth mindset. The first step to obtaining grit is
to correlate both self–control and self–confidence when trying to reach an objective. By doing this, one can focus on the task at hand...show more

I had no experience as a runner nor did I have the form. This did not phase me however. That year I promised myself to push through all the six
mile runs, sore legs, gnarly blisters, and at times, lack of oxygen. At every meet and speed workout practice I pushed myself further and further. I
set a goal every time I kicked off from the starting line and never let myself get discouraged when I failed. By my senior year, I was the fourth
fastest runner on varsity. That year our varsity team won the district meet, which qualified us to run in the 2016 state meet in Oregon. The
transformation over the years were evident. My determination to accomplish my goal of becoming a faster runner was complete. If I had simply just
given up that first day of practice, I wouldn't have ran along side of the fastest runners in Oregon or have met the multitude of people that are now
my closest friends. Having a goal sets one up for a challenge, whether it being physically or mentally, goals keep us active and thinking in more ways
than one. Still, if someone has self–control, confidence, and a goal, they are still not complete. Growth mindset is the cone to an ice cream. It is the
foundation of what I think a successful person is. Without it one couldn't use the characteristics mentioned above in more ways than one. Someone with
a growth mindset believe that their most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work, brains and talent are just the starting point.

Persuasive Essay On Success
Goals, something every human being on this planet has and to reach those goals you must be successful. We set goals to fulfill our purpose in life, but
to do that, you must be successful in meeting and completing those goals. "How Bad Do You Want It?" is a motivational speech that highlights the
requirements of being successful. This speech is important to study because success is so vital and important for our survival as human beings, it
changes the world. No matter your race, religion, culture, etc., you want to be successful and that will have a different definition for everyone, because
only you can define what success means to you. "How Bad Do You Want It" encourages itsaudience to think differently about wanting to be successful
and how to make it happen. This speech holds all the components Aristotle says a speech needs to be effective which include, persuasive, decorative,
and informational, also meaning motivational, actionable, and fun (Morgan, 2016). While watching the football player perform each exercise
repeatedly, I witnessed the effort and dedication he exerted through each set – this commitment resonated with me, as I am also an athlete who is

are willing to work for it. Even the background music playing provoked an internal motivation to be proactive.

The Key to Success in Life Essay
Famous spiritual leader and philosopher Swami Vivekananda, once said the way to success is to
"Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life – think of it, dream of it, live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be
full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone." To me this quote embodies what is it takes to be successful. Much like a marathon the goal
isn't to come in first place and win but to simply finish and to do that you have to want to keep going, the pace at which you do so is irrelevant as
long as you finish. Success has no definite definition like love it has many different meanings and holds true to different things for different people.

The only guidelines this "10,000 hour rule" falls under in terms of success is the dedication put forth. Gladwell exclaims that "Practice isn't the thing
you do once you're good. It's the thing you do that makes you good." If you are willing and able to practice something for 10,000 hours you have
shown an immense amount of dedication already therefore in a way becoming in Gladwell's eyes successful. I believe that success is different for
everyone. To say that doing 10,000 hours of something will make you successful is irrational much like love you can't measure success under such
terms. To some doing something for 5 hours is enough to personally fulfill their their goal and happiness. In my opinion looking from a younger
generations eyes this is setting up for disappointment and failure to tell someone they can only be truly successful at something is if they practicing
for 10,000 is insane. Although there is much truth to this, the reality is most people don't set out to be the greatest of all time but the greatest in their
hearts and perhaps practicing for just 2 hours a day for a month is enough for them to appreciate what they have done or learned. Although it can be
argued that children with a better upbringing may be able to reach success because they were taught to not always accept the answer "no", does not
mean other children can not reach success. A study that Gladwell bought up in his book the Outliers, shows that children

Reflection Paper On Success
Have you ever wondered what success was? Or how success would look and feel?
What is success to you? Let me tell you what success is in my opinion success is multiple steps to different achievements to obtain your goal and
become happy. People have different views on success, Success could be having a lot of money, Being happy, or Achieving your lifetime goal.Success
means different things to different people depending on what they love. The highest thing in success is society. A lot of people don't understand
how their success relates to other people's success. Your success could really affect other on what they think of success is, They might look at
their view of success and be like "This isn't success" because the way you view your success. Some people think of failure if they also don't
succeed, but failure is just the end of an idea or your dream goal. When I fail I can easily move on to something else with a stronger mentality
thinking it'll succeed. Have you ever wondered what success was? Well the time I wondered what success was, I thought success was just a job
that you get after you then graduated high school, and college to get a high paycheck or higher salary, Relationships with other people,
maintaining that relationship with friends and families, and look back into life and influence others to achieve those goals to be "Successful".
What does success look like to you? After I figured out that everyone has different meanings for success I believe that success is being able to do
anything you desire that is your passion, setting a goal for it and becoming happy. For example, I love playing football and I have been playing I

Essay on How Dreams Lead to Success
A quote by Sarah Ban Breathnach states, the world needs dreamers and the world needs doers. But above all, the world needs dreamers who do.
This quote means that dreams mean nothing if you do not have your own inclination to go after them; you can a have a dream but if you are not
going to exert oneself, then what is the purpose? Your dreams are a vision you see, it is your goals, it is the reason you wake up every day, and it is
something you could never give up doing. Your success in life starts with a dream; in order to lead your dreams to success you must be determined,

To lead your dreams to success or where you plan to be in life it is imperative to have a passion, it should be your passion something no one else

success. Ascendency is different for everyone success for most people is being unquestionably wealthy, but for success may be living a jocular life.
Your dreams should something you love to do so much you love getting up every day to do it, your dream should be something that if nobody paid
you to do it you would still be ecstatic to get up at three in the morning and do it. Your dream should be a craving, something you cannot live without
and you should be sure others see that you cannot live without this.
All in all, to lead your dreams to success you are obliged to never give up, stay in a determined mindset, and forget the negative comments you run
across. You must also have courage to stand up for what you believe in or what you believe is right. Courage is also not letting anyone get in the
way of your dreams or change your vision, such as: instead of following your own dreams you follow your parents' dreams you have to have the

Have you ever been extremely discouraged or upset due to a failure and felt like giving up? Well guess what it's not the end of time and there will be
another day and night. Bouncing back from a failure is all dependent on how the individual like me looks at the situation and how to deal with
everything that comes with that territory. Admitting to a rejection or failure and embracing all the emotions and thoughts come in, is one of the first
things a person should do in order to climb right back up. Success isn't entirely dependent on how perfect you are on the way up to the ladder of
achievements it's how you never give up and gain experience from those failures. If you're lucky and able to achieve success, then your next goal is to
take advantage of those failures and use them as experience to become even more successful.
Getting hit with two failures back to back within the same two months was not pleasant for my the mind and soul. I had found out that I did not

me. I had also found out in august that I did not make the tennis team after being on the team for two years. My first reaction was denial and not
knowing what to do with my emotions. Later on I had accepted my defeats, but I was so discouraged at this point that I didn't even care about
anything anymore, I didn't want to practice or find any self–motivation it was all gone.

The Three Forms Of Success
Success
Success is living well and being happy about it. An individual's professional, social and personal life is successful if he is living well. When success
is achieved on the three levels, then life is worth living with little or no stress. However, success can take different forms depending on an individual's
perspective. Most of a person's life is spent working towards being successful where parents and the elders insist on the need for the children to work
extremely hard in school so that they make lots of money on growing up and be successful members of the society. Success is therefore interpreted
differently by different people. Some people measure success by wealth, the status one has in the society, getting favors, making money and making
merry. Others however measure success only based on the degree of happiness at personal levels.
Despite every success type being different, hard work is a common factor for every route to success. For some people, making and accumulation of
money is the main driver towards being successful. Success is achieved when these kind of people are able to comfortably meet their hearts desires
such as acquiring a quality home and furnishing it with good things that make them happy, driving flashy and nice cars,...show more content...

Success Profile Research Paper

  • 1. Success Profile Research Paper In my success profile, there are some things that are still the same and different in this essay I will be talking about the different things that I have improved on and the stuff I still have to improve on . The things that I improved on the most was my decision making and my empathy. I am going to tell you how much I improved and what I think that helped me improve on these things My decision making went from a 6 to a 11. What I think improved my decision making was that I had to make a lot of decisions and from those decisions I found out what was the right decision and what was I shouldn't have made. My empathy went Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. The first step to being successful, no matter what you're trying to succeed, is to recognize your weak points, your strengths, and your limits. I myself know that I have several, and when I say several, I mean several, weak points when it comes to writing papers. The first and most lethal to a student who wishes to be well, is procrastination. I will always put writing a paper off till the last minute. In fact, I'm doing it right now as I'm writing this. I'm already doing what I say I'm not supposed to be doing. You can probably tell that I'm off to a great start. The next on the list of things that will brutally murder a student who wishes to do well in a class are distractions. Of course there is a multitude of things that can distract...show more content... I didn't really do that in this paper, so you can relax, but in future essays, you had better watch out. You might also want to watch out for a particular mood or feeling in my writings as well. This is because I listen to music whenever I have to write, because I am normally very easily distracted by noises (and shiny objects). The former of these things I overcome by blasting music into my head, because it eliminates all of the external stimuli that can derail my entire writing process. This may sound kind–of contradictory, because I'm being distracted by noise so I put on more noise. The difference is though, that music is more of a background noise to me, while conversation always grabs my attention. Something else that grabs my attention is video; if I ever listen to music if has to be from iTunes and absolutely not from YouTube. If I know that there is something visual that goes along with what I'm hearing, then I am just pulled into watching the video. This is extremely bad for when you're trying to write a paper, especially if you're like me and you have to look at what you're typing as you go along. Something that I can also do to help my writing is to always read what I wrote out loud. When I say out loud, I mean out loud! This will help me catch some of the grammatical errors that anyone can easily make, and I can also make sure that what I am writing makes sense. Something else that can help me Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. My Success Story Essay My success to education Blondie Torres ENG. 121 Concetta Williams July 18, 2011 Looking back at the past eleven weeks I have grown and learned so much here at Ashford University. I never thought that I would actually accomplish my educational dreams and be successful in my life, but I definitely have proved, myself wrong. I love knowing that I am doing great and I really try to do my best in completing my homework on time, with the occasions of a few speed bumps along the way. I decided to return to school to further my education for many important reasons. I have struggled tremendously in the past with my five children and I wanted to change that life style for good. I am so very tired of trying to make ends meet and not...show more content... I decided to just go for it and I am so glad I did because I know now that I have overcome that fear and I feel as if I can accomplish anything and everything. I can also say that I have matured in many ways as a mother, first time college student, and being a single mother of five. My kids had to adjust to the new routine as well. They did not understand at first but eventually they came around and little by little they gave me the time I needed to study and do homework. I still have to overcome a few obstacles in order to complete my degree program, just like I had to overcome all the changes that come with me returning to school. One of the main obstacles I must achieve here at Ashford University is to listen, learn, and to be obedient in all the discussions and the assignments asked of me. Last but not least I have to say I have to overcome all negative feelings I get from time to time to complete all my educational goals. I need to be prepared mentally and physically for anything that is being asked of me from my instructors. I feel that I need to keep an open mind as well because I know all the feedback from classmates and instructors will be of great help in making me a better person and learner. There are a few things I must do to overcome all these certain obstacles here in college in order to have a successful completion of my degree. I will have to keep doing all these helpful strategies that have gotten me this far. For example, using the Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 5. My Definition of Success Essay example "Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value." – Albert Einstein –– My personal definition would not include "stuff" at all. No one will care (and neither will you) what kind of car your drove or how big your house was when you're on your deathbed. Your thoughts will not be about your job, the office or how much money you made. Personal success is defined by how content and enjoyable your life is. That is not to say that challenges and disappointments aren't included in this. A rich, eventful and challenging life doing what you enjoy and positively affecting others seems to me to be just about right. Find a job you love and you'll never work another day in your life. I know I won't. In my...show more content... Past, present and future are all important to keep in perspective. Looking back and not having regrets is extremely satisfying. Your current situation and your contentment with it are also very important, and having goals and milestones to work toward in the future keeps you motivated and keeps life interesting and challenging. In this age in which we live, success is generally measured by the amount of money you earn, or the amount of wealth or power or number of promotions you've accumulated. I find that the older I grow, the more I view the people who are most happy and content with their lives as the most successful. Rich, poor or in between, they've tended to treat life as a journey, not a final destination. They took that trip when they were 25 even though they really couldn't afford it, they ordered the $55 bottle of wine with their filet because they knew that even though it was expensive it would enhance the meal so much more than water would. They took a chance on a start–up company, moved to Europe or Asia and experienced things that most people only dream about. If they managed to grow wealthy from the experience, so much the better. As long as moderation with most things is practiced, things won't spin out of control. Bottom line rules for a successful life: Always try new things. Listen twice as much as you talk. Travel as much as you can comfortably afford. Faith and family always come first –

  • 7. Reflective Essay On Personal Success There is a connection between personal success and the factors that are present in the beginning, during, and those that develop along the way to guarantee success. Intrinsic motivation, self–efficacy, time management, and academic preparation are pertinent factors and play an imperative role. To prevent my motivation from burning out in this program, my program, I perceive it as many minor tasks that involve careful planning, hours of nurture, and different degrees of time management. Keeping my eyes on the little goals that I will accomplish along the way will lead to the grand goal: my Master's in English. Reminding myself of past educational accomplishments like when I was a single parent and was borrowing loan after loan to complete my degrees serves as a daily motivator. A recent preview of my future courses also sparked a fire in my soul and enthusiasm. This program will also involve stress. Something that I do not always handle well, but avoiding too much on my plate, asking for help from my family, professors, and seeking the help of the Writing Center Tutors and Library personnel, to name a few, assists in minimizing the stress and prevents me from losing concentration. Spreading out my reading, assessments, writing assignments into smaller tasks lets me focus on quality. For example, this self–assessment report I approached it in segments that involved developing it one paragraph at a time. I spread out the work versus trying to tackle it all at once. • 8. Essay On Happiness And Success Although happiness is not merely associated with success, truly successful individuals first find happiness and passion for their life and career. Being successful does not necessarily mean that one has saved a lot of money or lives a luxurious life. It may mean that one has talented children, good spouse, attained high academic performance, has promising career, for example. The fact that success brings satisfaction in life makes a person feel happier because he/she can experience joy from many things that come with personal fulfillment. Although some people may argue that success does not provide happiness, various factors have shown that successful people are also the happiest. Having succeeded in various aspects in life means that one...show more content... Such people will always remain happy because they enjoy what they learn to improve what they have achieved. Happiness comes when one has attained what he/she wants to attain. People who fail to achieve their desired results even after struggling too much end up being depressed or developing other symptoms that cannot guarantee them happiness. Attaining success gives a person good moods even during times of challenges. If, for example, one has succeeded to have a promising job, that person will keep feeling happy even during the times of setbacks because he/she knows that his present achievements can help to overcome the obstacles that arise in his/her life. Successful people are also the happiest because they don't expect perfection. In most cases, expecting flawlessness leads to disappointment especially if the desired outcome does not go according to one's expectations. Successful people are always upbeat because they know that some situations may make some things not to work according to their wishes. Unsuccessful people will always press things to happen according to their expectations. If they fail to attain what they desire, they get dissatisfaction which leads to lack of happiness. Being successful means one is able to overcome factors which prevent happiness. If, for example, one has worked hard in school to attain best grades, that person will have nothing to worry about because he/she Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Essay on Success: You can do it! You can do it! –SUCCESS– Success is to fulfil a goal that you have set for yourself. Achievement of success involves five components: realisation, confidence, motivation, action and perseverance. Step one is to realise your goal and how to achieve it. Step two is to have the confidence to take the steps towards your goal. Step three is to find motivation to keep you on the path towards you goal. Step four is action, the first physical step you take in the process for success. Step five is perseverance. On the road to success, you will most definitely come to setbacks and struggles. The only way to conquer those things and achieve your goal is to have strong perseverance. As David Brink said, "A successful person is one who...show more content... Without that fuel, you will go nowhere. Motivation can be a number of things. It could be family, money, fame, fear of failure; anything that makes you strive for your goal. My motivations are to: become famous, be able to live comfortably, and to be able to raise a family. I will hold onto these things and will keep moving towards success. Nelson struggled with his motivation, "I felt impressed with a feeling that I should never rise in my profession. My mind was staggered with the view of the difficulties I had to surmount and the little interest [influential friends] I possessed. I could discover no means of reaching the object of my ambition. After a long and gloomy reverie in which I almost wished myself overboard, a sudden glow of patriotism was kindled within me and presented my king and country as my patron. 'Well then,' I exclaimed, 'I will be a hero and confiding in providence I will brave every danger.'" He found his motivation to be patriotism to his country to be known as a hero. Step 4 – Action Action is the first physical step you will take in success. Action is bringing together realisation, confidence and motivation. This is when all your planning comes together you start actually doing the things you need to get to your goal: putting your plan into action. I got into a group where we film rock concerts. I have also signed for a course on how to use professional video and editing equipment. I Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. The Path To Success Essay The path to success There are several qualities to have to be successful in college. These qualities can range from attending class to going above and beyond what's expected. Success comes from the journey taken or the path chosen. Success also comes from being prepared. As a student, I must step up to the challenge and find the path to success along the way. Several ways I define success is to uphold academic integrity, have the ability to prioritize, and to motivate myself to stay on top of what needs to be accomplished. Academic integrity holds a great deal of weight. This includes honesty in the work produced, as well as being able to accomplish the work. Responsibility in addition plays important factor into integrity. I see...show more content... Most of my days are long and tiring. By managing my time wisely, I normally get everything I need for school and my extra circular actives done in a timely fashion. Sometimes it takes not hanging out with the girls, in order to make sure I get my work done. Even putting in an extra hour at work helps me manage my time more wisely and keeps me from temptation. Which in turn forces me to focus more on my school work. Coaching football has always been a passion of mine. Knowing how restricted my schedule is, I strive to get my boys out of practice on time everyday. That way I can make it home to get some studying in, before I head into work. Many people believe success in college is rocket science, but actually it's the exact opposite. College is set up for students with the most basic high school knowledge to have a chance to excel. It's the simple things that can make or break a student's college career. Things such as going or not going to class. No brainer right? Sometimes sleep seems so much better than eight o'clock A.M. math, but a successful college student has to have the willpower to resist the temptation to not skip out on class. College is all about learning and not cutting corners, which only will hurt in the end. Everyday of missed class information will be lost, therefore the lack of understanding will show on a test or pop quiz. Attendance is a key to success. • 11. Essay on My Definition of Success In his poem, "What is Success," Ralph Waldo Emerson gave priceless insight when he wrote: To laugh often and much; To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded. Emerson's quote provides a paradigm of success–a model to be admired and strived for. Emerson teaches that learning to appreciate the subtleties in life can make it that much more enjoyable and interesting. In ...show more content... It's not surprising, then, that I want an exceptional career. And I'm not special in that regard. Most students share my goal. After several semesters being surrounded by smart, ambitious Business School students, I've noticed that there are striking differences in the ways people define an exceptional career. And the way people define success can have a big impact, not only on decisions about their first jobs, but also how much they achieve and happy they are in their careers. As it is commonly used, the word "success" is sometimes synonymous with another word – "winning." Success is beating the other guy and getting the big salary. Success is what happens when other people think you're a success or when you can convince them of it. As a junior, I attended a recruiting event for the Boston Consulting Group. Hardly ten words were out of the BCG representative's mouth before he was compelled to announce that he was a partner at the firm and that he'd gotten his MBA at Harvard. He then delivered a presentation that was fixated on his firm's corporate mantra: "We're Winning." Some of my sharpest classmates ate it up. High achievers who knew little about BCG Consulting before they entered the B–School competed intensely to land one of the select openings there. They aren't alone. I know of many students who are competing for or Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Hard Work Is The Key To Success Essay Hard work is a key to Success (ESSAY) "Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard" Hard work is the key to success. To succeed in life one must endure the challenges life presents and work to overcome these challenges to be the best possible person that one can be. We must not only use hard work to impress those around us but also to achieve goals that we set for ourselves. If we as individuals do not work hard to succeed, then we do not receive the same satisfaction as we would if we put in hour upon hour or even year upon year of work to achieve our goals. I believe for one to be successful, he must be willing to work hard to succeed in any aspect of life. "Great thing come from hard work and perseverance"...show more content... The secret of success, as many people will agree, is hard work. Evidently, successful people are admired in the society. In many instances, they make headlines in the mainstream media. However, such people are not many in the society. Many people still struggle to achieve their goals in life. Others give up, all together, when they attempt without success to achieve their goals. Simply, many people are unable or unwilling to engage in hard work for them to be successful. "To succeed, work hard and never give up and above all cherish a magnificent obsession" Many people give up when they do not feel like pursuing their goals or when they experience setbacks at the initial stages of a project. For instance, many people trying to lose weight may not see the results within the first few weeks of rigorous exercise and dieting. At this stage, unsuccessful people will give up. On the other hand, hardworking people try to find ways of solving some of the setbacks– instead of giving up. More so, they put in more effort even when they realize that have slim chances of winning. "Dreams don't work unless you Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Grit Essay Examples Grit is a predictor of academic, professional, and personal success. Grit can be defined as strength of character or the ability to overcome failure and continue to work toward success. People with grit are not always the people with the most natural ability, but their work ethic and ability to overcome obstacles allows them to achieve success. Grit is a very valuable characteristic in almost any venture, as it gives someone an advantage in overcoming the inevitable obstacles they will face. However, grit is much easier adopted when an individual has a growth mindset. The first step to obtaining grit is to correlate both self–control and self–confidence when trying to reach an objective. By doing this, one can focus on the task at hand...show more content... I had no experience as a runner nor did I have the form. This did not phase me however. That year I promised myself to push through all the six mile runs, sore legs, gnarly blisters, and at times, lack of oxygen. By my senior year, I was the fourth fastest runner on varsity. That year our varsity team won the district meet, which qualified us to run in the 2016 state meet in Oregon. The transformation over the years were evident. My determination to accomplish my goal of becoming a faster runner was complete. If I had simply just given up that first day of practice, I wouldn't have ran along side of the fastest runners in Oregon or have met the multitude of people that are now my closest friends. Having a goal sets one up for a challenge, whether it being physically or mentally, goals keep us active and thinking in more ways than one. Still, if someone has self–control, confidence, and a goal, they are still not complete. Growth mindset is the cone to an ice cream. It is the foundation of what I think a successful person is. Without it one couldn't use the characteristics mentioned above in more ways than one. Someone with a growth mindset believe that their most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work, brains and talent are just the starting point. • 15. Success Definition Essay Defining success is quite difficult as success means differently to each and every person. • 16. The Key to Success in Life Essay Famous spiritual leader and philosopher Swami Vivekananda, once said the way to success is to "Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life – think of it, dream of it, live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone." To me this quote embodies what is it takes to be successful. Much like a marathon the goal isn't to come in first place and win but to simply finish and to do that you have to want to keep going, the pace at which you do so is irrelevant as long as you finish. Success has no definite definition like love it has many different meanings and holds true to different things for different people. Although society has its claims on what...show more content... The only guidelines this "10,000 hour rule" falls under in terms of success is the dedication put forth. Gladwell exclaims that "Practice isn't the thing you do once you're good. It's the thing you do that makes you good." If you are willing and able to practice something for 10,000 hours you have shown an immense amount of dedication already therefore in a way becoming in Gladwell's eyes successful. I believe that success is different for everyone. To say that doing 10,000 hours of something will make you successful is irrational much like love you can't measure success under such terms. To some doing something for 5 hours is enough to personally fulfill their their goal and happiness. In my opinion looking from a younger generations eyes this is setting up for disappointment and failure to tell someone they can only be truly successful at something is if they practicing for 10,000 is insane. Although there is much truth to this, the reality is most people don't set out to be the greatest of all time but the greatest in their hearts and perhaps practicing for just 2 hours a day for a month is enough for them to appreciate what they have done or learned. Although it can be argued that children with a better upbringing may be able to reach success because they were taught to not always accept the answer "no", does not mean other children can not reach success. A study that Gladwell bought up in his book the Outliers, shows that children Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Your dreams are a vision you see, it is your goals, it is the reason you wake up every day, and it is something you could never give up doing. All in all, to lead your dreams to success you are obliged to never give up, stay in a determined mindset, and forget the negative comments you run across. You must also have courage to stand up for what you believe in or what you believe is right. Courage is also not letting anyone get in the way of your dreams or change your vision, such as: instead of following your own dreams you follow your parents' dreams you have to have the courage to say what you want in life. • 19. Persuasive Essay On Success Have you ever been extremely discouraged or upset due to a failure and felt like giving up? Well guess what it's not the end of time and there will be another day and night. Bouncing back from a failure is all dependent on how the individual like me looks at the situation and how to deal with everything that comes with that territory. Admitting to a rejection or failure and embracing all the emotions and thoughts come in, is one of the first things a person should do in order to climb right back up. Success isn't entirely dependent on how perfect you are on the way up to the ladder of achievements it's how you never give up and gain experience from those failures. If you're lucky and able to achieve success, then your next goal is to take advantage of those failures and use them as experience to become even more successful. Getting hit with two failures back to back within the same two months was not pleasant for my the mind and soul. I had found out that I did not make the prestigious Wind Ensemble in the Broken Arrow High School band program, I made the 2nd highest band, which was a very big deal for me. I had also found out in august that I did not make the tennis team after being on the team for two years. My first reaction was denial and not knowing what to do with my emotions. Later on I had accepted my defeats, but I was so discouraged at this point that I didn't even care about anything anymore, I didn't want to practice or find any self–motivation it was all gone. When success is achieved on the three levels, then life is worth living with little or no stress. However, success can take different forms depending on an individual's perspective. Most of a person's life is spent working towards being successful where parents and the elders insist on the need for the children to work extremely hard in school so that they make lots of money on growing up and be successful members of the society. Success is therefore interpreted differently by different people. Some people measure success by wealth, the status one has in the society, getting favors, making money and making merry. Others however measure success only based on the degree of happiness at personal levels. Despite every success type being different, hard work is a common factor for every route to success. For some people, making and accumulation of money is the main driver towards being successful.
