FASFA Scholarship
My grandmother was a nurse who helped deliver babies. Everybody who worked with her was her friend and looked up to her including her
patients. She passed away two years ago after battling cancer. She is my inspiration and I hope to become a great nurse just like her. By being
awarded a scholarship I would be able to pursue my dream career and receive the education I need to do so. I work full time and attend school full
time and I'm doing everything on my own with no financial support outside of loans. I have taken out loans to help me but I can't afford to keep
taking out loans. Even though I am required to use my parent's information for FASFA I do not receive any financial help from them to complete my
schooling. I am on my own. They make

Should Scholarships Be Paid?
A lot of students have big dreams, those mainly and mandatorily need some college degree to realize. Some of them dream about to be doctors,
lawyers or engineers, the only way to realize those dreams is go to the college and get the degree. Everyone can go to the college, but sometimes it
is hard due to the high cost of the colleges, but there are a lot of ways to pay less or maybe nothing and saving a lot of money.
First off, scholarships are a really good and interesting way to pay the college. According to HowToGo.com "There is scholarships for literally
everyone". They are sure that everyone could get a scholarship because there are for people who is left or people who is really good in sports like
baseball. Get a scholarship sound so easy and maybe it is, but also it is very stressful because people need work on that with ahead of time....show more

The two types of the loans are Federal and Private loans. The difference between federal loans and scholarships is if you pick federal loans you
need to pay back the money borrowed after graduation. Federal loans, according to HowToGo.com have "No payments until six months after you
graduate". Federal loans provide a lot of benefits and also they have the lowest interest all of this comes from the government , maybe it is not a
better way to pay college than scholarships because you have to pay back the money borrowed but it is a good and interesting way to not leave
out. Unlike private loans, this type of loans comes from private businesses, if you chose this way you have less to take care because you do not have
to pay the money borrowed back, private student loans allow you to borrow from $500 up to the cost of education –"(HowToGo)". Everyone who
wants to go to the college needs have various types of ways to have the opportunity to pick the most comfortable way to get money to can go to the

Scholarship money is a type of financial aid, awarded to students for their academic merit based on a mix of GPA, SAT scores, and class rank
(How to get a scholarship 2011). Scholarship is not easy to get or apply nowadays as the requirements are high and based on the merit. The awards
are almost always for top students. According to the statistic from The University of Virginia, 318 students applied for scholarships and only 83 are
awarded scholarship (Scholarship Statistic 2011). The scholarship mentioned above was a merit based scholarship and had caused such a low
percentage of students able to get a scholarship. However, some universities were concerned with the student's actual needs of scholarship. Such

Furthermore, the poor students who can hardly get a financial aid needs the scholarship more for study because their parents could not afford to pay
the fees. Besides that, price rising in colleges forces some of the poor students to choose for taking up part time jobs and some of them have no choice
by stopping their courses, dropping out of the colleges or delaying of graduation (Carey 2009). Due to governments' uneven providing scholarships, this
matter had brought unbalance distribution of financial help to the society because of the cost for tertiary education is high and the poor are not given
assistance in form of scholarship, they are unable to pursue their education. As a result, they are marginalised. The poor will remain poor while for the
rich they become richer. A scholarship means something extra for the wealthy students but for the poor, it means the world. Secondly, by giving
scholarship based on other criteria would be the best option is because it will elevate parents and students' financial burden. The students' family
background should be taken as reference for the government. Different areas has different achievement standard so the governments should take note
of it. For instance, students tend to have higher quality education in the city

Scholarships To Achieve My Educational Goals
The opportunity of scholarships would help me achieve my goals of going into education by lightening the financial burden school has put me under.
Work and school consume most of my week but any extra time is donated to COS young republican club and donating blood. I am the first in my
family to attend college, I strive to do better for myself than what I was born into. A scholarship would help me postpone student loans for as long as
possible and allow me to earn my teaching credentials.
My current education goals are to earn my bachelor's degree to begin teaching at an elementary school level. My education wouldn't stop there, I
would continue to attend school to work towards my masters degree to teach at a college level. My dream is to teach history and to create a love for it

I put in time and effort for College of the Sequoias young republicans club to support my city and my political party. Because of work and school I
can't put in as much time as I would like so, I also donate blood as often as possible.
As a young child I was surrounded by substance abuse, violence, and poor life choices that put me in foster care. My mom worked hard to save me
from those situations and now I work hard everyday to build a better life for myself. As the first person in my family to attend college my goal is not
just to graduate at the top of my class but to move past them and achieve my life's ambition to become a teacher; not held back by my family situation.
All things considered, my need for a scholarship is high. A scholarship would allow me to focus on school rather than on making ends meet; enabling
me to get through school at a quicker pace, ultimately attaining my goal of

Student Ambassador Application Essay
I have applied and would appreciate being considered for the 2017 Student Ambassador Program. I applied for this program because I wish to be a part
of more than just classes at University. I wish to be a part of a team that encourages others and solves real life problems that every day people are
facing about University, some of which I may have experienced, others I may not, either way I hope to help. During my final year of high school, I went
to many open days and lectures and couldn't make up my mind of what I wanted to do, where I wanted to study and who I wanted to be. Throughout
this time all I felt was pressure to finally make a decision, a decision that I thought would affect my future, but instead of deciding I became stressed,

Why Are You Applying For A Scholarship?
Write an essay (no longer than 200 words) to explain why you are applying for a scholarship. Because some scholarships require financial need, you
may want to include information on your family's financial situation.
Coming from a single parent household finances are very tight. My father is not fiscally involved and my mother holds two jobs to support her family.
It's clear to me that there will be a heavy burden of student loans. A scholarship would allow me the opportunity to become a first generationcollege
graduate. I have a strong desire to become a better person, to better provide for my family by pursuing higher education. Becoming a business or civil
rights lawyer has been my ambition since I was a little. Discuss your passion

Scholarship Appeal Letter Sample
Dear Scholarship/Bursary/Award Committee,
As a student in my sophomore semester who is financially weak, it is certain that I needed to be persistent and determined to achieve my career
aspirations. However, I would not be at this level in my education without my family's support. My parents have always thought me to believe in the
slogan "Education is the most powerful weapon which I can use to change the world". I have taken this to heart while I struggle to push through my
financial difficulties in order to achieve my dream of being a development practitioner (Indigenous focus).
I have learnt how to provide myself with a decent quality of life, with little or no emotional and financial assistance from my husband. My relocation to
study in Canada was overwhelming because I sought student loan from my home country that was sufficient to pay my first year fee and accomodation

Why I Want To Get A Scholarship
Like a lot of students applying for these scholarships, I do not come from the most fortunate family. I was raised by a single mother. My mother did
everything in her power to keep us afloat in this rough world, including attending a community college to become a licensed practical nurse while
having a child at home. All my mother ever asked of me was to stay out of trouble and keep my grades up so I can attend a good college. I knew that if I
did not gain a scholarship to a school, she would have to pay out of pocket for college. I could not put that burden on her shoulders because I knew
she could not afford it. With that motivation, I worked hard through all my years of school to make the best grades possible. I managed to make my
mother proud by being an honor graduate from a predominantly white high school, making 24 on the ACT, and earning a full scholarship to Alcorn State
University to major in biology....show more content...
It was a culture shock to me coming from a mostly white high school to a historically black college. It was also my first time away from home. I
felt Alcorn was the going to be a place where I could achieve my career goals, mature into a responsible young man, and have fun. However,
halfway through my first semester, I began to have too much fun and lose sight of why I was at Alcorn. My grades slipped because of this and I dug
myself into a hole I could not get out of. I tried my hardest to bring my grades up next the semester but it was not enough. I finished with a 2.86–grade
point average instead of the 3.0–grade point average I needed to keep my

Why I Want To Get A Scholarship
I'd like to get this scholarship because i'm a very hard worker once I get my mind set on it, I work at the Roseau Hospital in food service and I
absolutely love it! I get to see the residents that's always the best part of my day.
I'd love to go into nursing once I graduate, but I'd also wanna own a daycare.I absolutely love little kids too. It's always a good day when you can help
someone, just talk to them for an hour and make them smile.
During high school, I always showed up on time when I needed to be, I'm a very responsible student. I try my hardest to get everything turned in on
time! I also donated blood my 11th grade year, very amazing experience to donate to somebody that will need it in the future. I love helping out and

Scholarship, Service, And Character
Scholarship, Leadership, service, and Character, all four are an asset that one needs in their life. Scholarship drives you to do your best in your
academics and to never let go of your dreams. Leadership is stepping up and offering to help with everything that needs to be done, help those who
are less fortunate. Service is going out and making an impact on you community. Character is being you and to not letting anyone change the way
you act or think about an issue. Scholarship has made me work as hard as I possibly can so I can go far and achieve every goal I have set for myself.
Leadership has taught me to be the one to step up when a leader is needed and to step out of my comfort zone. Service has showed me what all is
needed to be done

Courage To Grow Scholarship
I strongly believe that I deserve the "Courage to Grow" Scholarship, because not only am I a dedicated and hardworking growing young adult, but I
also incorporate those traits to what I value the most, school. Ever since I started school, I have worked hard to where I am now. I have a 3.8 G.P.A.
On a 4.0 scale which I have worked long nights for. Since throughout all of high school I have been, an still am, involved in many extracurriculars
such as DECA, Interact Club, Spanish Honor Society but also managed to be involved in sports as well like Indoor Track and Field, Outdoor Track
and Field and Cheerleading. Being a top, varsity athlete in all, has taught me many valuable traits which have helped also become a wonderful young

Low Income Student Scholarship Essay
As a low–income student, life can be very hard. There are many academic, social, and emotional pressures coming from many different sources. He or
she is expected to overcome these obstacles that arise, and deal with them just as any other student would. I am a low–income student myself and I
truly believe I have overcome such challenges, and rose up to the occasion of the things life has thrown my way. My passion and experiences will
definitely lead me to leadership, service, and academic success at Moravian. Due to my family's financial woes, we were forced to move from place to
place multiple times. Almost every time, I was bullied for being different. Everywhere we moved, it was a low income neighborhood. I wasn't as

This year, I took control of Welcome Team, which was a bit disorganized from previous years. So far, we have helped welcome incoming freshman at
orientation, helped at Open House, given tours to new students, and helped hand out programs at the choral concerts. This is quite one of my proudest
achievements, because I never would have thought that I could grow a club so much in only a few months. Especially since welcoming is such an
important aspect of feeling included in an atmosphere, I thought that if Welcome Team grew, then perhaps social inclusion at Liberty would be more
prevalent. I have also tutored other students at Liberty through National Honors Society. I have tutored students in Algebra, Geometry, Biology, and
Spanish. One time in particular, earlier this year, I tutored a student who was in In–School Suspension. He was having trouble with his Spanish work,
and I specifically remember his saying that no one ever really tried to ever understand him, and that I was actually helping him. I believe in that
moment, I recognized the potential I have to truly make a difference in the lives of others. That is one of the main things I've always longed to

Why I Should Be Awarded A Scholarship
I believe I should be awarded one of your scholarships because I believe in taking advantage of every opportunity that the scholarship will bestow
upon me. I am a student that believes in working hard, being a positive influence, and giving back to the community. Your organization and I share
these core values and I would like to take our vision further by using this scholarship to advance my education as well as an opportunity to improve the
lives of those around me. As an immigrant from Nepal, I have had to work hard my whole life just to survive in America. Working multiple jobs while
attending school is a tough challenge that I face but I believe that if one works hard their dreams can come true. Many people from my community give

College Admissions Essay: Scholarship
Scholarship Essay:
Since I was young, I loved to hang out with kids, and I liked to teach them and play or talk to them. I thought that their love for knowledge was
amazing and it taught me to be more curious and to ask more questions. I felt nervous every time I was around them, but as time went, I got more and
more comfortable around kids. I wanted to babysit them at first, so I took a course in Vancouver, Canada and I got a certificate with my friend!
Ever since then, my interest in teaching only grew and grew. When I was in high school, I helped my juniors with their studies and also helped them
concentrate if they ever needed help with that, also explained concepts. Ever since then, I always dreamed about doing it as a profession, because

Greenhouse Scholars Scholarship
After hearing the news about my selection as a semi–finalist for the Greenhouse Scholars program, I began to ponder what the impact of being a
Scholar will have on my life. Being that I will be the first in my family to go to college, my current mentor will no longer be able to relate to any of
my upcoming problems. My older brother has been the person I have relied on for guidance. He has encouraged me to persevere and make smart
choices in order to work for my aspirations. My brother made a few mistakes and ended up being blessed with a beautiful daughter. Unfortunately, my
niece halted his advancement of a higher education. It has made me wonder, will I adventure through this college experience alone, or will I have
somebody to guide, encourage, and inspire me to achieve more? Everyone needs a leader to study and learn from. As I approach an unfamiliar scene
with college, I feel a mentorship provided by Greenhouse will be vital for my future endeavors. My research on the...show more content...
I want to build an enduring relationship with a mentor the way Lindsey Price talked about when she came to my high school. Similar to a curious
younger sibling, I plan to pick my mentor's brain for advice. Most importantly, I will be open to failure as a Greenhouse Scholar. My failure will
not come from choices, but from taking risks. A mentor can push me to join new clubs, participate in school activities, and validate my failures. I
will work hard until I reach failure so I can learn from my mistakes while knowing that my mentor will be there for instruction. By providing me a
role model who will aid me through my college life, I can become the accomplished student and caring person I strive to be. The mentorship given to
me by Greenhouse Scholars is a component that can have a vast impact on my goal to become an affable person who lands his dream

For this scholarship, I wanted to make whoever is reading this short essay to know who I truly am and who I truly want to become. I am a
17–year–old girl with aspirations and dreams that I am determined to reach. Growing up in a religious family, I was always brought up with specific
morals and values but that has shaped me into the person I am today. I grew up in a family where their education was not nearly as good as mine is
today. Being the first one in my family to go to a four–year college makes me want to push harder to make them happy. As a young child, I always had
an interest in cooking, reading, and playing tennis. The qualities that I have used doing these things has shaped me into the person I am today. These

Having the sense that I pushed myself the hardest I can and knowing that I won't stop as I further my education makes all of the obstacles
worthwhile. Scholarships in a way have motivated me to do more as a student. I wanted to be able to do more like scholarships to benefit myself
rather than having that feeling that I didn't do as much for myself then I should have. Being considered for a scholarship will give me the feeling
that all the dedication that I've put into my work for the past four years was all worth it. Just the satisfaction of knowing that I put my all into it is
just a good feeling as being awarded a scholarship. Scholarships are meant to push students farther in what they want so being able to do this has
made me think of all the great things that can come out of things like this. I've never stopped trying at anything I've done and I will continue this as
I go further in my education and career. I would like to advocate for my future students that always being able to motivate and have faith in yourself
will always get you to you truly desire. I've had faith in myself as a student to try as hard as I possibly can to get these scholarships and to put my
heart into

What Does Scholarship Boy Mean
Scholarship BoyIn the short story "Scholarship Boy" by Richard Rodrigues tries to convey the struggle of balancing home life, social life and
being a good student. He starts by saying when guest speaking at a school seeing a 14 year old girl full of ambition reminded him of himself in
school. Then he goes into a flashback when he was a young boy. The author was a prized student anxious and eager to learn. He used to isolate
himself from his family and hide in his closet to read books. Too eager he started to lose his heritage. "Proudly I announced– to my family's startled
silence–that the teacher said I was losing all traced of my Spanish accent." His family began to tease him calling him four eyes and asking what he
sees in those books

Courage To Grow Scholarship
I believe I should be awarded the Courage To Grow Scholarship for many more reasons than one. To begin with, I am a smart, determined young
lady with an ambition to succeed. To me, most setbacks lead to major comebacks, and during downfalls I make it a priority to continue to fight
towards whatever goal it is that I have set for myself. Being that I am a hard working individual, I go the extra mile to get any and every goal I
have set accomplished. I always find myself setting new goals to make bigger accomplishments because I prefer the thrill of overcoming challenges
that your average person would give in to. In addition, I believe I should be awarded this scholarship because I am an African American girl who
wants a fair chance of pursuing

FASFA Scholarship

  • 1. FASFA Scholarship My grandmother was a nurse who helped deliver babies. Everybody who worked with her was her friend and looked up to her including her patients. She passed away two years ago after battling cancer. She is my inspiration and I hope to become a great nurse just like her. By being awarded a scholarship I would be able to pursue my dream career and receive the education I need to do so. I work full time and attend school full time and I'm doing everything on my own with no financial support outside of loans. I have taken out loans to help me but I can't afford to keep taking out loans. Even though I am required to use my parent's information for FASFA I do not receive any financial help from them to complete my schooling. I am on my own. They make Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Should Scholarships Be Paid? A lot of students have big dreams, those mainly and mandatorily need some college degree to realize. Some of them dream about to be doctors, lawyers or engineers, the only way to realize those dreams is go to the college and get the degree. Everyone can go to the college, but sometimes it is hard due to the high cost of the colleges, but there are a lot of ways to pay less or maybe nothing and saving a lot of money. First off, scholarships are a really good and interesting way to pay the college. According to HowToGo.com "There is scholarships for literally everyone". They are sure that everyone could get a scholarship because there are for people who is left or people who is really good in sports like baseball. Get a scholarship sound so easy and maybe it is, but also it is very stressful because people need work on that with ahead of time....show more content... The two types of the loans are Federal and Private loans. The difference between federal loans and scholarships is if you pick federal loans you need to pay back the money borrowed after graduation. Federal loans, according to HowToGo.com have "No payments until six months after you graduate". Federal loans provide a lot of benefits and also they have the lowest interest all of this comes from the government , maybe it is not a better way to pay college than scholarships because you have to pay back the money borrowed but it is a good and interesting way to not leave out. Unlike private loans, this type of loans comes from private businesses, if you chose this way you have less to take care because you do not have to pay the money borrowed back, private student loans allow you to borrow from $500 up to the cost of education –"(HowToGo)". Everyone who wants to go to the college needs have various types of ways to have the opportunity to pick the most comfortable way to get money to can go to the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Scholarship money is a type of financial aid, awarded to students for their academic merit based on a mix of GPA, SAT scores, and class rank (How to get a scholarship 2011). Scholarship is not easy to get or apply nowadays as the requirements are high and based on the merit. The awards are almost always for top students. According to the statistic from The University of Virginia, 318 students applied for scholarships and only 83 are awarded scholarship (Scholarship Statistic 2011). The scholarship mentioned above was a merit based scholarship and had caused such a low percentage of students able to get a scholarship. However, some universities were concerned with the student's actual needs of scholarship. Such university is the...show more content... Furthermore, the poor students who can hardly get a financial aid needs the scholarship more for study because their parents could not afford to pay the fees. Besides that, price rising in colleges forces some of the poor students to choose for taking up part time jobs and some of them have no choice by stopping their courses, dropping out of the colleges or delaying of graduation (Carey 2009). Due to governments' uneven providing scholarships, this matter had brought unbalance distribution of financial help to the society because of the cost for tertiary education is high and the poor are not given assistance in form of scholarship, they are unable to pursue their education. As a result, they are marginalised. The poor will remain poor while for the rich they become richer. A scholarship means something extra for the wealthy students but for the poor, it means the world. Secondly, by giving scholarship based on other criteria would be the best option is because it will elevate parents and students' financial burden. The students' family background should be taken as reference for the government. Different areas has different achievement standard so the governments should take note of it. For instance, students tend to have higher quality education in the city Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Scholarships To Achieve My Educational Goals The opportunity of scholarships would help me achieve my goals of going into education by lightening the financial burden school has put me under. Work and school consume most of my week but any extra time is donated to COS young republican club and donating blood. I am the first in my family to attend college, I strive to do better for myself than what I was born into. A scholarship would help me postpone student loans for as long as possible and allow me to earn my teaching credentials. My current education goals are to earn my bachelor's degree to begin teaching at an elementary school level. My education wouldn't stop there, I would continue to attend school to work towards my masters degree to teach at a college level. My dream is to teach history and to create a love for it in my students....show more content... I put in time and effort for College of the Sequoias young republicans club to support my city and my political party. Because of work and school I can't put in as much time as I would like so, I also donate blood as often as possible. As a young child I was surrounded by substance abuse, violence, and poor life choices that put me in foster care. My mom worked hard to save me from those situations and now I work hard everyday to build a better life for myself. As the first person in my family to attend college my goal is not just to graduate at the top of my class but to move past them and achieve my life's ambition to become a teacher; not held back by my family situation. All things considered, my need for a scholarship is high. A scholarship would allow me to focus on school rather than on making ends meet; enabling me to get through school at a quicker pace, ultimately attaining my goal of Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Student Ambassador Application Essay I have applied and would appreciate being considered for the 2017 Student Ambassador Program. I applied for this program because I wish to be a part of more than just classes at University. I wish to be a part of a team that encourages others and solves real life problems that every day people are facing about University, some of which I may have experienced, others I may not, either way I hope to help. During my final year of high school, I went to many open days and lectures and couldn't make up my mind of what I wanted to do, where I wanted to study and who I wanted to be. Throughout this time all I felt was pressure to finally make a decision, a decision that I thought would affect my future, but instead of deciding I became stressed, because Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Why Are You Applying For A Scholarship? Write an essay (no longer than 200 words) to explain why you are applying for a scholarship. Because some scholarships require financial need, you may want to include information on your family's financial situation. Coming from a single parent household finances are very tight. My father is not fiscally involved and my mother holds two jobs to support her family. It's clear to me that there will be a heavy burden of student loans. A scholarship would allow me the opportunity to become a first generationcollege graduate. I have a strong desire to become a better person, to better provide for my family by pursuing higher education. Becoming a business or civil rights lawyer has been my ambition since I was a little. • 7. Scholarship Appeal Letter Sample Dear Scholarship/Bursary/Award Committee, As a student in my sophomore semester who is financially weak, it is certain that I needed to be persistent and determined to achieve my career aspirations. However, I would not be at this level in my education without my family's support. My parents have always thought me to believe in the slogan "Education is the most powerful weapon which I can use to change the world". I have taken this to heart while I struggle to push through my financial difficulties in order to achieve my dream of being a development practitioner (Indigenous focus). I have learnt how to provide myself with a decent quality of life, with little or no emotional and financial assistance from my husband. My relocation to study in Canada was overwhelming because I sought student loan from my home country that was sufficient to pay my first year fee and accomodation in...show more content... • 8. Why I Want To Get A Scholarship Like a lot of students applying for these scholarships, I do not come from the most fortunate family. I was raised by a single mother. My mother did everything in her power to keep us afloat in this rough world, including attending a community college to become a licensed practical nurse while having a child at home. All my mother ever asked of me was to stay out of trouble and keep my grades up so I can attend a good college. I knew that if I did not gain a scholarship to a school, she would have to pay out of pocket for college. I could not put that burden on her shoulders because I knew she could not afford it. With that motivation, I worked hard through all my years of school to make the best grades possible. I managed to make my mother proud by being an honor graduate from a predominantly white high school, making 24 on the ACT, and earning a full scholarship to Alcorn State University to major in biology....show more content... It was a culture shock to me coming from a mostly white high school to a historically black college. It was also my first time away from home. I felt Alcorn was the going to be a place where I could achieve my career goals, mature into a responsible young man, and have fun. However, halfway through my first semester, I began to have too much fun and lose sight of why I was at Alcorn. My grades slipped because of this and I dug myself into a hole I could not get out of. I tried my hardest to bring my grades up next the semester but it was not enough. I finished with a 2.86–grade point average instead of the 3.0–grade point average I needed to keep my Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Why I Want To Get A Scholarship I'd like to get this scholarship because i'm a very hard worker once I get my mind set on it, I work at the Roseau Hospital in food service and I absolutely love it! I get to see the residents that's always the best part of my day. I'd love to go into nursing once I graduate, but I'd also wanna own a daycare.I absolutely love little kids too. It's always a good day when you can help someone, just talk to them for an hour and make them smile. During high school, I always showed up on time when I needed to be, I'm a very responsible student. I try my hardest to get everything turned in on time! I also donated blood my 11th grade year, very amazing experience to donate to somebody that will need it in the future. I love helping out and being Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Scholarship, Service, And Character Scholarship, Leadership, service, and Character, all four are an asset that one needs in their life. Scholarship drives you to do your best in your academics and to never let go of your dreams. Leadership is stepping up and offering to help with everything that needs to be done, help those who are less fortunate. Service is going out and making an impact on you community. Character is being you and to not letting anyone change the way you act or think about an issue. Scholarship has made me work as hard as I possibly can so I can go far and achieve every goal I have set for myself. Leadership has taught me to be the one to step up when a leader is needed and to step out of my comfort zone. Service has showed me what all is needed to be done Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Courage To Grow Scholarship I strongly believe that I deserve the "Courage to Grow" Scholarship, because not only am I a dedicated and hardworking growing young adult, but I also incorporate those traits to what I value the most, school. Ever since I started school, I have worked hard to where I am now. I have a 3.8 G.P.A. On a 4.0 scale which I have worked long nights for. Since throughout all of high school I have been, an still am, involved in many extracurriculars such as DECA, Interact Club, Spanish Honor Society but also managed to be involved in sports as well like Indoor Track and Field, Outdoor Track and Field and Cheerleading. • 12. Low Income Student Scholarship Essay As a low–income student, life can be very hard. There are many academic, social, and emotional pressures coming from many different sources. He or she is expected to overcome these obstacles that arise, and deal with them just as any other student would. I am a low–income student myself and I truly believe I have overcome such challenges, and rose up to the occasion of the things life has thrown my way. My passion and experiences will definitely lead me to leadership, service, and academic success at Moravian. Due to my family's financial woes, we were forced to move from place to place multiple times. Almost every time, I was bullied for being different. Everywhere we moved, it was a low income neighborhood. I wasn't as rowdy as some...show more content... This year, I took control of Welcome Team, which was a bit disorganized from previous years. So far, we have helped welcome incoming freshman at orientation, helped at Open House, given tours to new students, and helped hand out programs at the choral concerts. This is quite one of my proudest achievements, because I never would have thought that I could grow a club so much in only a few months. Especially since welcoming is such an important aspect of feeling included in an atmosphere, I thought that if Welcome Team grew, then perhaps social inclusion at Liberty would be more prevalent. I have also tutored other students at Liberty through National Honors Society. I have tutored students in Algebra, Geometry, Biology, and Spanish. One time in particular, earlier this year, I tutored a student who was in In–School Suspension. He was having trouble with his Spanish work, and I specifically remember his saying that no one ever really tried to ever understand him, and that I was actually helping him. I believe in that moment, I recognized the potential I have to truly make a difference in the lives of others. That is one of the main things I've always longed to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Why I Should Be Awarded A Scholarship I believe I should be awarded one of your scholarships because I believe in taking advantage of every opportunity that the scholarship will bestow upon me. I am a student that believes in working hard, being a positive influence, and giving back to the community. Your organization and I share these core values and I would like to take our vision further by using this scholarship to advance my education as well as an opportunity to improve the lives of those around me. As an immigrant from Nepal, I have had to work hard my whole life just to survive in America. Working multiple jobs while attending school is a tough challenge that I face but I believe that if one works hard their dreams can come true. • 14. College Admissions Essay: Scholarship Scholarship Essay: Since I was young, I loved to hang out with kids, and I liked to teach them and play or talk to them. I thought that their love for knowledge was amazing and it taught me to be more curious and to ask more questions. I felt nervous every time I was around them, but as time went, I got more and more comfortable around kids. I wanted to babysit them at first, so I took a course in Vancouver, Canada and I got a certificate with my friend! Ever since then, my interest in teaching only grew and grew. When I was in high school, I helped my juniors with their studies and also helped them concentrate if they ever needed help with that, also explained concepts. Ever since then, I always dreamed about doing it as a profession, because Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. Greenhouse Scholars Scholarship After hearing the news about my selection as a semi–finalist for the Greenhouse Scholars program, I began to ponder what the impact of being a Scholar will have on my life. Being that I will be the first in my family to go to college, my current mentor will no longer be able to relate to any of my upcoming problems. My older brother has been the person I have relied on for guidance. He has encouraged me to persevere and make smart choices in order to work for my aspirations. My brother made a few mistakes and ended up being blessed with a beautiful daughter. Unfortunately, my niece halted his advancement of a higher education. It has made me wonder, will I adventure through this college experience alone, or will I have somebody to guide, encourage, and inspire me to achieve more? Everyone needs a leader to study and learn from. As I approach an unfamiliar scene with college, I feel a mentorship provided by Greenhouse will be vital for my future endeavors. My research on the...show more content... I want to build an enduring relationship with a mentor the way Lindsey Price talked about when she came to my high school. Similar to a curious younger sibling, I plan to pick my mentor's brain for advice. Most importantly, I will be open to failure as a Greenhouse Scholar. My failure will not come from choices, but from taking risks. A mentor can push me to join new clubs, participate in school activities, and validate my failures. I will work hard until I reach failure so I can learn from my mistakes while knowing that my mentor will be there for instruction. By providing me a role model who will aid me through my college life, I can become the accomplished student and caring person I strive to be. The mentorship given to me by Greenhouse Scholars is a component that can have a vast impact on my goal to become an affable person who lands his dream Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 16. For this scholarship, I wanted to make whoever is reading this short essay to know who I truly am and who I truly want to become. I am a 17–year–old girl with aspirations and dreams that I am determined to reach. Growing up in a religious family, I was always brought up with specific morals and values but that has shaped me into the person I am today. I grew up in a family where their education was not nearly as good as mine is today. Being the first one in my family to go to a four–year college makes me want to push harder to make them happy. As a young child, I always had an interest in cooking, reading, and playing tennis. The qualities that I have used doing these things has shaped me into the person I am today. These hobbies taught me...show more content... Having the sense that I pushed myself the hardest I can and knowing that I won't stop as I further my education makes all of the obstacles worthwhile. Scholarships in a way have motivated me to do more as a student. I wanted to be able to do more like scholarships to benefit myself rather than having that feeling that I didn't do as much for myself then I should have. Being considered for a scholarship will give me the feeling that all the dedication that I've put into my work for the past four years was all worth it. Just the satisfaction of knowing that I put my all into it is just a good feeling as being awarded a scholarship. Scholarships are meant to push students farther in what they want so being able to do this has made me think of all the great things that can come out of things like this. I've never stopped trying at anything I've done and I will continue this as I go further in my education and career. I would like to advocate for my future students that always being able to motivate and have faith in yourself will always get you to you truly desire. I've had faith in myself as a student to try as hard as I possibly can to get these scholarships and to put my heart into Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. What Does Scholarship Boy Mean Scholarship BoyIn the short story "Scholarship Boy" by Richard Rodrigues tries to convey the struggle of balancing home life, social life and being a good student. He starts by saying when guest speaking at a school seeing a 14 year old girl full of ambition reminded him of himself in school. Then he goes into a flashback when he was a young boy. The author was a prized student anxious and eager to learn. He used to isolate himself from his family and hide in his closet to read books. Too eager he started to lose his heritage. "Proudly I announced– to my family's startled silence–that the teacher said I was losing all traced of my Spanish accent." His family began to tease him calling him four eyes and asking what he sees in those books Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. Courage To Grow Scholarship I believe I should be awarded the Courage To Grow Scholarship for many more reasons than one. To begin with, I am a smart, determined young lady with an ambition to succeed. To me, most setbacks lead to major comebacks, and during downfalls I make it a priority to continue to fight towards whatever goal it is that I have set for myself. Being that I am a hard working individual, I go the extra mile to get any and every goal I have set accomplished. I always find myself setting new goals to make bigger accomplishments because I prefer the thrill of overcoming challenges that your average person would give in to. In addition, I believe I should be awarded this scholarship because I am an African American girl who wants a fair chance of pursuing Get more content on HelpWriting.net
