craftsmanship and technological evolution.
These years culminate with the opening of the new
headquarters in Moscow, Russia, the opening of
the headquarters of Brazil and the presence of the

& ENVIRONMENTAL
MANAGEMENT
Martínez Otero, since its founding, has procured the goal of the highest levels of
quality on its products and services to achieve the satisfaction of our clients. During
the last years Martínez Otero has focused on the reduction of the environmental
impact which may have been caused by its activity.
On 2009 the company has obtained the Certifi cate of Environmental ISO 14001
Standard, reducing to the maximum any use of harmful products to the environment,
focusing on recycling and a sustainable management of the waste produced, and
investing our eff orts on energy efi ciency, this way the environmental impact of our
activity may be reduced to the maximum.
To ensure our customers that the wood used in our furniture comes from responsibly
managed forests, Martínez Otero is certifi ed PEFC and FSC ® Chain of Custody, and
thus participate in sustainable forest management, helping to keep forest mass, and
may this way deliver to future generations what we have inherited.
FSC® is sponsored by Greenpeace and World Wide Foundation for Nature (WWF)
and PEFC certifi cation is a system promoted by government groups and private
timber industry, which is the one mostly used in Europe.

36. PURPOSE
The María Martínez Otero Foundation was
created out of the personal and corporate
commitment of several generations of the
Martínez Otero family, which has for many
years contributed to the socio-economic
development of the furniture industry
intheir native Galicia.
Creating the Foundation was a pioneering
initiative within Spains´ social and cultural
landscape, whilst its mission is to enhance
standards of quality and innovation in the
designer furniture.
