2. School to work transition
In his first job interview they asked for experience. He said that he have never
worked, but he is willing to learn everything they need him to. But the
interviewer told him that they weren’t looking for people without experience
and that they would call him if anything came up.
He felt frustrated and sad. He looked for a job everywhere until he found a
job in a store as a security assistant. A job he never thought he would accept
because he was just graduated from college.
With the experience he gained, he could jump from one job to another,
feeling better with himself everytime, and eventualy he found a job where he
has been working for 20 years: car selling. Now he owns a store.
So the main problem here is that people with a college degree don’t have the
experience needed, and I/we have to think about a way to change that.
3. Problem Statement
• Person: College Graduate
• Problem: Can’t find work because he/she
needs experience.
• Insight: But you can’t have experience if you
don’t work, so it’s a vicious circle
