3. Welcome!
We Minnesotans are honored to host you and this remarkable community of
holistic pioneers. We come together under the theme of Connection and
Collaboration. Physicians, nurses, acupuncturists, psychologists, nutritionists,
chefs and environmental educators are just a few of the professions among us
these next few days.
Connection and Collaboration. It fits. The AHMA is transitioning to become the
membership arm of a newly forming organization, the Academy of Integrative
Health & Medicine. The Academy is most fortunate in that we bring you with
us – a diverse membership as exemplified by this interdisciplinary group of
collaborative providers.
I learned firsthand how AHMA connects and collaborates. Two years ago AHMA
swung its doors open and invited me, an acupuncturist, to work in a leadership
position with a group of MDs, DOs, PSYDs and others who are on the forefront
of transformation and change in health care. I really wasn’t sure what to expect,
but I can tell you I have never felt more at home than with this group of heart-
felt, brilliant and committed people who truly want to foster transformation.
That’s walking the talk. That collaborative essence of connection is at the heart
of every presentation or workshop you will experience here. You’ll find that
spirit during our shared meals and evening activities. Our members bring it, our
exhibitors bring it and we all benefit from it.
Thank you for joining us. Take the next few days to meet providers from other
states, other paradigms and other disciplines. Connect, collaborate and
empower your peers in these times of great change.
Who knows whom you’ll meet and what we can create together?
Warmly,
Jennifer

This revelation has transformed my life. It provides
me with a reservoir of resiliency and informs what
I now cultivate, practice and teach.
