Projects
Dennehotso Boarding School
Owned by the Bureau of Indian Affairs and located in Arizona’s Navajo Nation, this 12 acre, design-build
project consists of the demolition of an existing school, construction of a new 45,700 square foot, 2-story,
K-6 educational facility and a new 9,700 square foot, single story dormitory with 34 beds. This project also
includes a playground, two basketball courts and a new 75,000 gallon water tower and is scheduled to be
completed in May 2014.
Kaibeto Boarding School
Valued at $44 million and owned by the US Department of the Interior / Bureau of Indian Affairs, this
design-build project included construction of a new 61,900 square foot educational facility, a new 10,538
square foot dormitory, the construction of eight modular homes ranging in size from 1,478 to 3,112 square
feet, and the installation of all utilities including a 331,000 gallon water tower. This project received LEED
Silver certification upon completion in August 2012.
Sanostee Day School
Valued at $11.8 million and owned by the US Department of the Interior / Bureau of Indian Affairs, this
design-build project consists of the construction of a new 24,000 square foot day school with associated
support facilities and site development. The site development included access roads, visitor / staff parking
lots, and playground areas. This project was completed in December 2011 with LEED Silver certification.
Wide Ruins
The grant school has 140 students in grades K-6. The old school buildings date from the 1930s and 1960s.
The new school will be 29,148 square feet, along with an 11,362 square feet cafeteria / gymnasium build-
ing and a 15,418 square feet dormitory for 50 students. Fourteen new employee housing units will adjoin
the new school. The employee quarters’ old site has been cleared and will serve as the location of the new
school.
