The following areas qualify me to teach in the medical assisting program: My clinical experience, my
educational experience, and my teaching experience.
I worked as a medical assistant and learned many clinical skills such as; scheduling appointments,
returning phone calls, patient education, assessing patient vitals, obtaining medical history, administering
injections, performing diagnostic procedures and CLIAA waived tests, and billing and coding patient charts.
These clinical skills would make me a great asset to your program.
I also possess the educational experience necessary to teach for BYU I. I graduated with high honors
from the medical assisting program at Salt Lake Community College, and then went on to pass my
certification exam. I also will be graduating with my bachelors from Southern Utah University this summer.
My education has given me the knowledge and skills necessary to be a successful medical assistant and
teacher.
The final area I would like to mention is my teaching experience. I currently work as adjunct faculty
for Southern Utah University teaching Advanced First Aid and CPR. I love teaching and sharing with the
students the knowledge I have been blessed to obtain through the years.
These are just a few of the skills that would make me an excellent fit for your medical assisting
program. I look forward to meeting with you.
Sincerely,
Cindy Slaughter, (AAMA) CMA
