Architecture is the art and science
of designing buildings.
As a designer, through my own
experiences, architecture is the ability
to connect people to the space around
them, while making it functional. The
purpose of this collection is to highlight
some of my personal styles and design
capabilities. All effort has been made to
compile my work over the years to my
most recent with the hope that it will
reflect consistency, flexibility and my
growth.
Who am I?
I am aware that the intentions and true
purpose of this collection is to persuade
viewers of my styles and concepts, it is
also important to understand my thought process and what influences my designs. The
early stage of my life had nothing with design in it, one thing for sure; I loved drawing.
I had no sense of direction except for the love I had for drawing. With little or no
support as it relates to my passion for Art, my talent became noticeable by my high
school teacher Miss Kamele Madden. She felt that my talent should not go unnoticed.

Free Hand Sketching
These two drawings were done at separate times but both introduce the use of light and gives the impression of texture. They also
emphasize how shades and shadows can bring any image to life whether conceptual or realistic. The side by side presentation of these
two images…….

Use of Color
This image on the left was also demonstrating the effects of light while showing depth and perspective. These simple design
techniques becomes important……..

With the use of pencil crayons I managed
to mix colors that would bring this kitchen
space to life. This drawing also gives the
impression of different textures, and even
though it is a flat piece, it also depth.

Models and Google Sketch Up
Originally the above model was the drawing on the bottom
right which also done by me as conceptual piece which was
then converted into an actual model built to scale. This model
was designed as a modern home with mostly glass and
stainless steel.

This model was done as a representation of a gazebo that sits
on a water fountain. The design concept was meant to give
the impression that water would constantly flow from
beneath the gazebo and should be visible from the
surrounding garden.

Google Sketch Up
The design of this office space building was done as a group project while attending University of Technology Jamaica. As a group
we were given specific safety factors and the expected load. It took the team of four over a week to calculate all the load factors such
as solar panels and water tank storage as shown on the roof. The material of this building was steel frame and curtain walls. On page
nine (9) which shows a modern town house, the client wanted something he described as “different.” The initial design was done in
AutoCAD as shown in the lower left image. For a more realistic look, the design was the generated from Google Sketch Up.

Auto CAD
For this project the client wanted a general idea of how the
front and back of their house would be based on their own
design ideas.
With the use of AutoCAD I was able draft up what the
client wanted. At this stage in my life, I was still attending
the Univerity of Technology Jamaica, and most of my work
projects were still supervised by my design professors.

Models and AutoCAD
The image of this unfinished model was done while attending
Dutchess Community College, but showed the incorporation of
AutoCAD. After coming up with the design for this multipurpose
building, I pasted the actual drawing onto matting paper to transfer the actual scaled
drawing to achieve complete accuracy.

wanted a single family dwelling but unique to his
personal style. The full drawing took little over

migrated.

My Aspirations
It is my goal as well as the desire of my heart to continue to grow and be the best at what
I do. I believe that we all have the power to change the world, as for some us it will be
through design. Those things we desire are usually those things that will keep us going.
Drawing is my passion, and with the perfect opportunity I will continue to move forward.
