Christopher Mooney worked as a teacher of Modern Foreign Languages at St John's Catholic Comprehensive School in Gravesend, Kent from February 2007 to July 2011. During his time there, he taught French and Spanish as well as other subjects, and developed new aspects of the language curriculum. Performance reviews described him as a successful, highly skilled, and dedicated teacher. In July 2011, Christopher resigned from his position and negotiated an agreement to end his appointment with the school.

Christopher Mooney worked at St John’s Catholic Comprehensive, Gravesend, Kent DA12 2JW
from February 2007 until July 2011 as a teacher of Modern Foreign Languages (MFL).
Christopher mainly taught French and Spanish. He also delivered lessons in Humanities
(History, Geography, Religious Education), as well as PSHE and Citizenship. When working with
Hub/Faculty colleagues, Christopher aided in the delivery of KS3 English lessons and was an
outstanding teacher. In Performance Reviews Christopher has been described as a successful
teacher; a highly-skilled and dedicated teacher with fantastic commitment; and an excellent
practitioner. During his time he was assessed and went through the Threshold, his salary
throughout 2010/11 was M6 +UPS 1.
He developed aspects of the MFL curriculum that were new to St John’s and created an
extensive Scheme of Work for Key Stage 3 French, complete with all necessary resources.
Christopher established a very sound professional approach to his role in the School and was
widely respected by colleagues and students alike. He is an excellent communicator with
considerable organisational skills which he used extensively in the promotion of his subject and in
the wider context of the School’s life.
Christopher took the decision to resign from his post and negotiated a termination of appointment
agreement with the School at the end of July 2011.
