Overview
I attended Morehead State University in Morehead, KY, received a bachelor’s degree with a
double major in Spanish and Math, and am currently completing my fifth year of teaching.
Additionally, I have my teaching certification with endorsements in Math (grades 8-12), Spanish
(Kindergarten – 12th
), and English as a Second Language (ESL). I have partially completed my
masters in the Teacher Leader Program with ESL Endorsement at Georgetown College, and have
passed the ESL Praxis exam.
I love to learn and enjoy teaching others new things. In both high school and university, I have
consistently maintained a 4.0 GPA. Throughout the years, I have learned the importance of
being a hard and efficient worker. Upon graduating, my husband and I moved to Mexico for
three years where I worked as a Math teacher in an English immersion school. Throughout daily
life, I was able to solidify my skills in Spanish language and Mexican culture. Currently, I am
working at Randall K. Cooper High School. I began working at Cooper in August of 2015, and
in my time at Cooper, I have taught Spanish I, Spanish II, and Algebra II.
Throughout my job experience, I have gained proficiency in navigation of basic computer
software including Word (publisher, excel, and word processor). I am also fluent in both English
and Spanish. Also, I have learned how to manage time and organize clerical tasks in regards to
forms and paperwork both online and in writing. I am also able to lead, manage, and teach
groups of individuals giving clear instructions and expectations.
I will be available for employment upon completion of my current contract at the end of May
2017, and interested full or part-time positions depending on salary and schedule.
