ResearchExperience
University of the Sciences in Philadelphia
Advisor: Dr. Zhihong Wang, Biochemistry, Fall 2014-Present
Purified Wild Type Full Length (WTFL) BRAF and mutated (V600E) BRAF from HEK 293 mammalian expression
system
Deduced a mechanism of auto-phosphorylation in WTFL BRAF which plays an inhibitory role in kinase activity
Recapitulated the paradoxical effect in vitro indicating that BRAF inhibitors such as dabrafenib and vemurafenib
act as activators of WTFL BRAF
Elucidated a novel strategy for fine-tuning the amplitude and duration of MAPK signaling, which provides more
insight into the complex regulation of this pathway in cellular kinetics
Developed radioactive P-32 assays to complete a thorough study of the following: BRAF, CRAF, and a B/CRAF
heterodimer kinetics, dimerization, and phosphorylation events
Albright College
Advisor: Dr. Frieda Texter, Biochemistry, Winter 2011-Spring 2013
Purified β-2-Microglobulin as well as ΔN20-β-2-Microglobulin and elucidated both functions in dialysis related
amyloidosis through the formation of fibrils, which form plaques in joints resembling arthritis for which there is no
treatment
