1. RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
High Point University Biology Department, Senior Research Project
Advisor: Dr. Gerald Smith
Explored the genetic epithet boundaries between local species of Hymenocalis in the Pee Dee River
Basin. Collected Samples from which I extracted DNA. Using PCR and ISSR, discerned the genetic
boundaries of three species. Presented research at the Southeastern Biologists Conference to an
audience of peers and mentors.
High Point University Physics Department, Honors Physics Project
Advisor: Dr. Aaron Titus
Analyzed the circular motion of a single point on a hula hoop. Used videography to capture a fixed
point to better understand the movement. The results were plotted onto a sin curve. Presented at
University Honors Day Symposium.
High Point University Psychology Department
Advisor: Dr. Danzis
Traveled to Germany, Italy, and France for Human Behavior Across Cultures class after semester
