2. Who might your film secure a
distribution deal with?
Our film may secure a distribution deal with Vertigo Film, with
the company’s mission being to distribute commercially driven
independent cinema.
A successful example of guerrilla film making in which has
already been distributed by Vertigo Film is Monsters (Edwards,
2010).
Monsters was a huge hit at box office, having a budget of just
$500,000 and receiving a total of $4,242,978.
4. What might be their strategy in
connecting your film to an audience?
Niche audiences of independent film would be targeted
primarily.
Viral marketing campaigns, leading to word of mouth via
social media on websites such as Kick-starter. Links and
short video clips could be shared between friends.
The film could be promoted at small scale film festivals.
Seeking lottery funding
5. Where might your distributor choose
to try and exhibit your film?
Mainly in small cinemas such as Curzon, as they are a
chain of multiplex cinemas based in the UK which could
distribute the film on a large scale. They also have a video
on demand service, Curzon Home Cinema.
Web 2.0 would be a suitable platform for exhibiting the
film. Easy for consumers to access, possibly cheaper to
watch on the internet then paying to watch the film in a
cinema.
