7/2007 to Now – CityTeam Ministries Rescue Mission and Recovery Center

In July of 2007 I took over duties as the director of the CityTeam San Jose
Rescue Mission and Recovery Center where I supervise the complete
operations of the two facilities, three programs. Although the building was
zoned for 72 men there were only 50 beds and only 45 were occupied. I raised
funding for bunk beds and currently we can sleep the entire 72 count plus 12
visitors.
Because of the cold weather exemption I was able to procure cots to sleep
extra people in the shelter bringing that number up.
The feeding program grew from serving up to 300 meals a day to 600 meals a
day at just about the same cost.
I also coordinate feeding and serving special events for up to 2500 people.
In 2009 I began school for California drug and alcohol certification; on July
17th 2010 I achieved my Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor II and
International Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor A5110710. On July 30 2011
I achieved Licensed Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor-CA. LCi03680315.
I am currently licensed and insure.

In January 2000 I started as the church sexton being responsible for upkeep,
maintenance repair and cleaning of the church. Also I assist with event
planning and all setups. I supervise all phases custodial and maintenance work
performed in the church. I am responsible for purchasing all cleaning and
maintenance materials and for monitoring all such inventory. I am responsible
purchasing and maintaining cleaning equipment. I am proficient with
computer skills in Word, Excel and Publisher.
I am fully trained and installed as a Stephen Minister, which entails personal
care for any persons in crisis. Fully trained in the art of listening, and relating.
Trained in maintaining boundaries in care giving, telecare, confidentiality,
grief processing, care giving to those who struggle with depression, and
assisting clients with suicidal tendencies. Collaborate with Mental Health
Professionals and other Community Resources.

Proficient in “Relapse Prevention. I am currently facilitating, 18 lesson 1 year
long “Relapse Prevention curriculum at City Team I organized the program
myself, and I have been running it for the last 7 years.
I was appointed to a CityTeam Ministries Board Membership position and I
have made valued contributions, such as entrepreneurial planning and job
training programs,
I teach and train men in a full course of custodial building maintenance, offices
kitchens, bathrooms, carpet shampooing, stripping, sealing, finishing, and
spray buffing tiles floors. I teach products, what to use how to order, and how
and how much to use. Men graduate the course with a certificate and many are
working in the field now. I also wrote a 20-page procedure and training manual
for custodial careers.

6/99 to 2004 - City Team Ministries Shelter Admissions/Intake Worker.

I oversaw shelter operations as an intake worker; I interviewed and evaluated new
residents, familiarizing clients with the rules of conduct. I also distributed
medications when required. I oversaw up to 36 men, with rules of conduct and with
hygiene requirements. I case managed residents daily, helping many of the men with
the transition to permanent residences. I also mentor men in recovery and life
situations.
