4. As part of the Turnkey package TMS will install a Windows-based HMI (Human Machine Interface) and
communications solution connecting the associated CNC Machines in a given work cell via Ethernet. The
interface provides screens that allow tool wear offsets to be remotely adjusted. Each machine tool
connected to the HMI will have its own screen.
TMS will provide the following hardware and services:
PC-based HMI (Human Machine Interface) with touchscreen interface
Installation and mounting of PC-based HMI
Ethernet cables and switches as required for connecting the HMI to the (3) CNCs
Installation of Ethernet cables and switches
Remote tool wear offset setup, documentation and training
Note: Customer to supply 120VAC power to HMI Panel
Example Screen Shots:
Communications Status Window Operator machine selection window
Password protected setup area Enable and disable offsets and create Labels,
Part numbers and machine name
5. Machine Alarms/Messages/History TMS Remote Offset Part Screen
Work cell usage with or without automation:
Customers are finding that setting up the remote offset touchscreen next to the gage
station in a large work cell not only saves the operator from having to walk to various
machines to make offsets, but it helps eliminate errors. The operator can see a
corresponding label next to each offset describing the associated measurement.
Immediate entry of the offset information while looking at the gage eliminates the need to
write down values that could get transposed incorrectly.
