Eva’s Taste Matters is an annual celebration of good food, great wine and craft beer all in
support of Eva’s Initiatives for Homeless Youth. In its ninth year, this event was held on the
evening of October 20, 2015 at the Liberty Grand, Exhibition Place. With 400 guests in
attendance sampling tastings from different restaurants, caterers, wineries and breweries,
this event presents itself as a significant and enjoyable networking opportunity while raising
much-needed funds for Eva’s.

3. A little taste of Eva’s:
Eva’s provides safe shelter, training, counselling and a wide range of
innovative programs and services to help homeless and at-risk youth
reach their potential to lead productive, self-sufficient and healthy lives.
With specialized services and distinctive programming, Eva’s offers a
continuum of service not available anywhere else in Canada. Locally,
Eva’s operates three unique shelters that accommodate 114 youth aged
16-24 each night. Nationally, Eva’s works with community partners to
build innovative and long-term solutions to end youth homelessness.

2015 Event Highlights:
• Event exceeded its goal of $125,000 and raised $141,095 for Eva’s
youth!
• 400 guests in attendance
• 30 food & beverage hosts showcasing speciality items
• Incredible Live and Silent auction items – items sold totalled $61,510
• Live auction included The Key, an opportunity to help turn the key to
a brighter future for Toronto’s homeless youth
• Eva’s Youth Speaker, Emily, captivated the audience with her personal
stories about homeless and at-risk youth, and finding a lifeline with
Eva’s
• Engagement with Eva’s youth from all 3 shelters who hosted a joint
dessert station
• 32 volunteers donated their time through the day and evening
• Attendees were gifted with greeting cards created by Eva’s youth and
printed at the Eva’s Phoenix Print Shop
• Great opportunity for guest/client relations and networking
• Introduced new individuals to the work of Eva’s
