2012-Present Feminist Majority Leadership Alliance
Public Relations (2013-2014), Vice-President (2014-2015)
A club dedicated to eliminating all forms of oppression. We organize campus
events surrounding social justice issues like reproductive health, gendered
violence, race issues, poverty, and many more. We have also worked on a
campaign for a state ballot initiative and we are involved with other groups in
the community and on campus with common goals.
2. Duties include overseeing members, planning events, planning and leading
meetings, being a liaison to outside organizations.
2014 Power of Performing Arts
A program designed to work with children and young adults with special
needs. Participants learn life skills through performing arts games and
techniques. Each semester, they perform a play based on the things learned
during that semester. Duties included partnering with a participant and
helping them stay on task and participate, teaching lines, cues and stage
directions, working through any setbacks they might encounter while
participating.
Other Relevant Experiences
2014 Study Abroad
I studied at a three week course in London, England about Jane Austen and
the Reagent Period in the United Kingdom. Topics included historical events,
dress, manners, popular culture, and analyzing all of Austen’s works.
2014-2015 One Billion Rising and Sex Week
I organized the 3rd annual “One Billion Rising” and raised money for local
domestic violence organizations. The event included performances by
students and community members. I also helped organize the first ever Sex
Week at ETSU, which was a 3-day-long event raising awareness and education
about sexual health and communication. It included 14 individual events. I
also helped get donations, organize a fundraiser for the event and helped
coordinate the many individuals who assisted with leading events, designing
logos and booking speakers.
