Re: Recommendation Letter for Carol Vest
I have known Carol Vest since she started at Bowie & Jensen, LLC (I do not recall specifically her start date
there). I was a firm partner at Bowie & Jensen, LLC when I met Carol Vest as a new employee at the firm. While
my recollection was that she started as a general administrator, at some point she became assistant to the office
manager and basically did the firm’s billing, bill payment and general bookkeeping. For most of the time I was at
Bowie & Jensen (ending 5/1/2013) I was responsible for supervising the office manager and Carol, as overseeing the
firm’s finances was one of my assigned partner duties. As a result, for at least 10 years, I interacted with Carol on an
almost daily basis as firm financial, billing and booking issues came up.
Carol was an excellent employee as assistant to the office manager. She was exceptionally dependable and
could figure out most issues, and when asked to follow through with a consultant or professional she did and got the
answer. Carol was flexible – we switched systems I think twice and so Carol had to learn new procedures and she
did so without a lot of supervision. I could always count on getting an accurate answer from Carol and the reports
she developed rarely if ever needed to be re-run – and often the fault was mine in not fully explaining what I needed.
In short, it was a pleasure working with Carol – she made my life easier by doing her job right and not
requiring a lot of training or supervision. I could not more highly recommend Carol for a position in which she is
called upon to perform bookkeeping, accounting, billing, general executive assistant responsibilities (things like
scheduling, managing calendars and so forth) dealing with documents, excel spreadsheets, software and similar types
of tasks. Please do not hesitate to call me for more in depth information.
Very truly yours,
Michael D. Oliver, Esq.
