Operating a Goupil vehicle is ideal in congested traffic and
confined spaces. Compared to a conventional van it is narrower
and offers a tighter turning circle. When used on the public
highway the operator can park with confidence that he is not
obstructing the flow of traffic thus reducing the potential for
stressful encounters.

3 battery packs are available for the G5E (regular, medium, big)
and 2 packs for the G5 E-hybrid (regular, medium).
The range largely depends on customer application. Our Goupil
sales representative will help you select the correct battery size.
With the hybrid version, empty battery is not a problem. The G5H
switches to “ICE-Mode” where the vehicle uses a traction engine
only like a conventional vehicle.

Accelerated structural durability test has been performed on
fatigue test track according to test pattern provided by GOUPIL
assisted by Polaris experts. The test combines fatigue mileage
accumulation and periodic inspections.
DURABILITY
Up to 50km the G5H and G5E can be operated in pure electric
mode. With Zero emissions it is ideal for inner city operations.
Compared to similar sized vans the average fuel saving equates
to 2500ltrs of petrol.
LOW MAINTENANCE AND RUNNING COSTS
G5 is emission free in pure electric (G5E or G5H E-mode). It is low
noise for operating in built up areas, which is ideal for working in
the early morning or during week-ends.
Fuel consumption is 2,9 l/ 100 km and CO2 emissions are 67g /km
under European standard test cycle for plug-in (ECE R 101).
E-hybrid drive limits noise, pollution and CO2 emissions by only using
internal combustion vehicles out of city centre when it is absolutely
necessary. IC-engine are reknown for being inefficient at low speeds
therefore in H-mode at low speed and up to 30 km/h, drive is handled
by the electric motor only. It is recommended that the vehicle
is charged at night during off peak periods when surplus electricity
is available and offered at a lower cost.
Lead batteries are commonly used on forklift trucks. They are very
robust and guaranteed for 2 years full plus 2 years degressive
or 1500 cycles.

The G5 is a safe urban logistic solution which offers the potential to
optimize your labor productivity. In electric mode the vehicle is driven
in silence, no noise pollution means it can be operational during the
early and late hours of the day without causing a disturbance and any
potential stressful situations for the operator. Usually inner city stops
are most frequent over a shorter distance, access space is always
limited in these environments and the G5 comes into its own being
highly maneuverable, an ideal tool for many applications including
waste collection. The G5 has been designed for easy access and
operation having excellent visibility from the cabin.
Automatic regenerative braking assists the vehicle to stop and recover
energy at the same time.

E-HYBRID OPERATING PRINCIPLE
PERFORMANCES
E-mode
E-mode is a zero-emission mode. The driving feel is identical
to a pure EV with a range of 55 km.
In E-position the EM reduction gear is lower compared to
the hybrid mode which provides 30% more torque.
E-hybrid is a dual mode Electric - hybrid concept
G5 E-hybrid can run on electric drive only, on hybrid drive and on the engine alone when the battery is empty (ICE-mode). It can
also recuperate energy while braking and provide a boost with a heavy load which means both, motor and engine, running together.
H-mode
At low speed and up to 30 km/h, the vehicle is propelled only
by the Electric Motor. At 30 km/h the control automatically
switches between the EM and the ICE. Above 30km/h
the IC-engine powers the vehicle like a conventional vehicle.

ELECTRIC CONSUMPTION DURING ROAD OPERATION
The energy requirement depends on the number of
times the doors are opened during the journey. Typically
10 door openings of 45 seconds use 1.4 kWh given
an outside temperature of 30°C

EM LSM (Electric Motor Low Speed Mode)
When battery and petrol tank are empty, the vehicle can be
driven at low speed (10km/h) in electric mode
BOOST ACTIVED BY FOOT

The manual

When accelerating or on an incline when more torque
is required, the ICE and the electric motor work together
to provide higher power output.

OPERATING MODE DIAGRAM
In “H-mode” when battery is empty G5H switches to “ICE-Mode”
which is engine traction only mode which allows the operator
to finish the day without range anxiety.
CAUTION : The hill climb is limited to 6% max in ICE-mode
CAUTION²: The G5 E-hybrid is mainly operated in electric mode
and like every EV it is recommended that the operator plugs
the vehicle into the grid at night.
ICE LSM (Internal Combustion Engine Low Speed Mode)
After 6 hours running time in “ICE-mode”, the vehicle switches
to “ICE LSM”.It is a low speed mode to force the operator
to go back home to plug the vehicle on the grid.

Compared to a conventional van it is narrower and offers a tighter turning circle. When used on the public highway the operator can park with confidence that he is not obstructing the flow of traffic thus reducing the potential for stressful encounters. HIGHLY MANEUVERABLE Compact Goupil vehicles are compact but offer a superior operational space compared to conventional vans. G5 has a 6 m3 usable volume for a vehicle floor surface of 6m2 Narrow vehicle The narrow width is ideal to operate in narrow streets and cul-de-sacs Good turning circle: 4m COMPACT CONVENTIONAL VEHICLE • Available load space 3.2 m3 4-6 m3 • Floor surface 8,2 m2 6 m2 R 4,5m G5 Up to 70 km in pure electric depending on the battery pack size. 3 battery packs are available for the G5E (regular, medium, big) and 2 packs for the G5 E-hybrid (regular, medium). The range largely depends on customer application. Our Goupil sales representative will help you select the correct battery size. With the hybrid version, empty battery is not a problem.   • 3. Accelerated structural durability test has been performed on fatigue test track according to test pattern provided by GOUPIL assisted by Polaris experts. The test combines fatigue mileage accumulation and periodic inspections. DURABILITY Up to 50km the G5H and G5E can be operated in pure electric mode. With Zero emissions it is ideal for inner city operations. Compared to similar sized vans the average fuel saving equates to 2500ltrs of petrol. LOW MAINTENANCE AND RUNNING COSTS G5 is emission free in pure electric (G5E or G5H E-mode). It is low noise for operating in built up areas, which is ideal for working in the early morning or during week-ends. Fuel consumption is 2,9 l/ 100 km and CO2 emissions are 67g /km under European standard test cycle for plug-in (ECE R 101). E-hybrid drive limits noise, pollution and CO2 emissions by only using internal combustion vehicles out of city centre when it is absolutely necessary. IC-engine are reknown for being inefficient at low speeds therefore in H-mode at low speed and up to 30 km/h, drive is handled by the electric motor only. It is recommended that the vehicle is charged at night during off peak periods when surplus electricity is available and offered at a lower cost. Lead batteries are commonly used on forklift trucks. They are very robust and guaranteed for 2 years full plus 2 years degressive or 1500 cycles. ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY Wear test bench Track tests Belgian block pave, potholes with water and bumps… The G5 is a safe urban logistic solution which offers the potential to optimize your labor productivity. In electric mode the vehicle is driven in silence, no noise pollution means it can be operational during the early and late hours of the day without causing a disturbance and any potential stressful situations for the operator. Usually inner city stops are most frequent over a shorter distance, access space is always limited in these environments and the G5 comes into its own being highly maneuverable, an ideal tool for many applications including waste collection. The G5 has been designed for easy access and operation having excellent visibility from the cabin. Automatic regenerative braking assists the vehicle to stop and recover energy at the same time.   • 4. E-HYBRID OPERATING PRINCIPLE PERFORMANCES E-mode E-mode is a zero-emission mode. The driving feel is identical to a pure EV with a range of 55 km. In E-position the EM reduction gear is lower compared to the hybrid mode which provides 30% more torque. E-hybrid is a dual mode Electric - hybrid concept G5 E-hybrid can run on electric drive only, on hybrid drive and on the engine alone when the battery is empty (ICE-mode). It can also recuperate energy while braking and provide a boost with a heavy load which means both, motor and engine, running together. H-mode At low speed and up to 30 km/h, the vehicle is propelled only by the Electric Motor. At 30 km/h the control automatically switches between the EM and the ICE. Above 30km/h the IC-engine powers the vehicle like a conventional vehicle. E-HYBRID GLOSSARY EM LSM (Electric Motor Low Speed Mode) When battery and petrol tank are empty, the vehicle can be driven at low speed (10km/h) in electric mode BOOST ACTIVED BY FOOT Manuel Boost The manual boost lasts 20s When accelerating or on an incline when more torque is required, the ICE and the electric motor work together to provide higher power output. E-BRAKE PROPORTIONAL ELECTRIC BRAKING THE MECHANICAL BRAKE HAS AUTOMATIC ON DEMAND ELECTRIC BRAKE ASSISTANCE (GOUPIL PATENTED) When braking the electric motor acts as a generator and recovers energy (Regen) When the operator presses the brake pedal the hydraulic pressure is measured and sent to the drive by an electric signal.
