2. The history of ICT is marked by major
disruptions by game changers, radically
altering the way we communicate, work,
play and live.
3. Back in 1971, ICT was all about telecoms.
Voiced over fixed infrastructure run by
national operators out of government
department( such as the USA, FRANCE,
UK).
4. Then came the paradigm shift of market
liberalization in the early 80’s and the
arrival of mobile telephony.
Exploding from brick shaped executive
symbol to the ubiquitous tool of daily life
today, where there are almost as many
mobile subscriptions globally as there
people on the planet.
5. This was driven by the Short Message
Service(SMS or text), which proved
immensely and unexpectedly popular in
combination with technological
advances, flat rate packages, and internet
savvy populations.
6. Next came Data (mobile internet), a mass
of mobile apps and the ability to send
not just texts but images and videos from
anyone to anywhere.
