4. IgG
WHAT IS IT? FUNCTION
It is a type of antibody that
represents 80% of Ig in the
human body, this has
special characteristics that
is the ability to transfer the
placenta.
Control the infection of the body
tissues. By joining many types of
pathogens such as viruses, bacteria
and fungi, IgG protects the body from
infection and transmits immunity to the
fetus. You can also activate the classic
pathway of the complement system
and neutralize toxins principally..
5. ENDOPEPTIDASE
WHAT IS IT? FUNCTION
Cleave the peptide bonds
located in the center of a
protein , dividing the protein or
polypeptide into 2 fragments of
approximately the same size.
It is a family of proteolytic
enzymes or peptidase which
catalyze proteolysis
reaction, in the study they
used a recombinant cysteine
protease.
6. TRANSPLANT
It is a replacement
of a tissue or an
organ that’s ill or
isn’t working in a
correct way for
another healthy
one
14. WESTERN BLOT
Es una técnica usada para identificar
proteínas específicas en una
solución , esta técnica utiliza 3
etapas para lograrlo: separación por
tamaño ( por electroforesis),
transferencia a un soporte sólido y
visualización mediante la marcación
de proteínas con anticuerpos .
15.
16. SDS PAGE
La electroforesis en gel de
poliacrilamida es una técnica que
involucra geles que varían en el
tamaño y composición de poros, su
principio general es la migración de
partículas o solutos cargados en un
medio líquido bajo la influencia de
un campo eléctrico.

18.
19. CITOMETRÍA DE FLUJO
Se hace pasar una suspensión de
células en solución isotónica a través
de un pequeño orificio formando parte
de una corriente continua o flujo
cilíndrico.
Sobre esta corriente se hace incidir un
haz de luz láser, cuya dispersión y
reflexión son analizados en duración,
intensidad y espectro.

25. AUTHORS WHAT THEY SAID YES / NO
Loupy A, Lefaucheur C,
Vernerey D, Jordan SC.
“Despite advancements in desensitization, the
efficient removal of pathogenic HLA antibodies
is still a considerable medical challenge.”
Järnum S, Bockermann R,
Runström A, Winstedt L,
Kjellman C, Takahashi R,
Yuki N.
“IdeS has a unique specificity for IgG and is a
potent virulence factor produced by S.
pyogenes, because removing the Fc region of
host IgG essentially ablates humoral immunity
given that cleaved IgG can no longer activate
complement or mediate antibody-dependent
cellular cytotoxicity.”
26. AUTHORS WHAT THEY SAID YES / NO
Vo AA, Choi J, Cisneros K,
Zachary AA, Lucas DP,
Montgomery RA, Leffell MS.
“The use of intravenous immune globulin and
rituximab after transplantation probably prevents
rebound donor-specific-antibody responses to
some extent.”
Järnum S, Bockermann R,
Runström A, Winstedt L,
Kjellman C.
“Thus, the inactivation of IgG-mediated effector
pathways by IdeS may help to prevent
antibody-mediated injury to allografts. IdeS also
cleaves B-cell receptors from circulating B cells,
with the resultant inhibition of antigen-specific
B-cell IgG responses in vitro.”

28. • This treatment gives a new possibility to find a donant
easier so the percentage of transplants can increase
and the people on the waiting list can reduce.
• This can reduce the percentage of organ rejection
although it is still in process of development this is a
big step to improve the transplants success.
29. • Approaching the organ rejection by altering the IgG
gives a bit of advantage to patients with highly
sensitized HLA, this knowledge is key for the
development of future studies.
• Targeting the molecules in charge of recognizing a
different HLA, like the antibodies, is the way to run
treatment on these kind of patients
