- 6. AB617 Community Base Emissions Reduction Programs Community based regulatory rule development One air district could have multiple areas that are targeted. CARB selected 10 grants for 2018 2 in Bay Area AQMD ( Richmond, West Oakland) 2 in San Joaquin Valley APCD (Shafter, South Central Fresno) 3 in South Coast AQMD (East Los Angeles, San Bernardino, West Long Beach) 1 in San Diego APCD (Portside) 1 in Sacramento Metropolitan AQMD (South Sacramento) 1 in Imperial County APCD (Calexico) Funding is between $97,000 to $500,000 for each grant 9 of the grants have monitoring component to them

Low-Cost Monitoring Requires little knowledge to get set-up and operate Monitoring is continuous and instantly available No Laboratory analysis delays Connect by internet community, accessible to everyone Monitors are numerus over a wide price range Quality of data varies widely Likely solution for AB617 Community based monitoring
- 8. Air Quality Sensor Performance Evaluation Center (AQ-SPEC) Developed by the South Coast AQMD About 50 products are on the list to be evaluated. Reviews include Conducting field evaluations. Laboratory evaluations Some units have relatively good tracking for the price.
- 9. AB617 Community Groups All 10 Community Groups have begun meetings Some Groups have as many as 28 members Residents Elected officials Chamber of Commerce Groups Few but some large businesses Elements to each Group Monitoring Action Plans Emissions Reporting Funding
