2. The Moral Compass
"Self Love, Worth and Wisdom"
March: it's time to stop the madness and it's time to start taking care
of yourself.
As human beings, we are creatures of habit. Every January, we
create resolutions for the New Year. By February, most of us forget
our goals, except one; Valentine's Day is at the center of the month
and at the core of our priorities; we focus on finding someone who
will love us or we "love the one that we are with."
This month, we must "spring into action" and get back to the most
important thing. We have to continue put ourselves first. At home, at
work, and for life.
You are not alone, we are here to support you! Join our coaches,
doctors, and authors, as they give you advice on how to take care of
yourself.
If no one has told you, "you are worth it." This magazine is a tool,
but ultimately, it's up to you to tap into your wisdom and find your
worth. "Self Love, Worth and Wisdom" is just the beginning!
The team and I wish you a life of self-love, compassion for others
and to live with integrity within your Moral Compass!"
Peace and Love,

3. The Power of Identity-Author & Coach Brian Brockhoff
So often we think that our identity is written in stone on our soul and will remain etched there,
controlling every decision we take until the end of our time. Fortunately, this couldn't be farther from the
truth. I have witnessed time and time again where someone has taken a good, long, honest and self-
realizing look in the mirror and said to his or herself, "I want to be different. I want my situation to be
different. I want the outcomes from my life to be different." Then they went out and worked their tail off
to make that change a reality.
The fact is that if we want real change in our life, we can do it. It is rarely easy and always involves a clear
assessment of our current situation, a new vision of who we need to be ,to live this new life... Oh, and it
takes hard work. Here is your IMBAR pathway to begin this journey:
Identity: We need to have a clear vision of who we are now and who we need to be in our personal or
professional life to make it all happen.
Mindset: We need to be emotionally connected to this new vision. It has to be intellectually, morally,
and spiritually important to us to the point that we will do anything to make it work.
Behavior: We need to specifically spell out the steps that we will need to tediously take along the way.
All contingencies should be planned with grit and determination.
Action: We need to tap into the power of others to get their support and encourage their challenges.
We will need their occasional push along the way. And with all of this, we need to just start taking action.
We need to get out there and just do it in order to build the momentum that will keep us moving forward.
All of the planning in the world means nothing if we are afraid to take the steps.
Results: This step is the outcome of everything that came before, but we should also start with this step
in mind at the beginning of our new journey. Spelling out what success looks like in this new trip is
critical. We need to know where we are going before even taking the first step. Then, when we reach our
goals, and even when we make small improvements along the way, we need to congratulate ourselves,
pat ourselves on the back and, of course, we need to keep going!
Write down these steps. What will your new identity need to be? What mindset will you need to have?
What behaviors need to be in place? What actions need to happen? What will that result specifically be
if you follow this new pathway?
You can do it! Start today!

4. To be healthy and to have joy, there needs to be some
wisdom. King Solomon prayed for wisdom and not riches....he
was one of the most wealthiest and wisest kings that sat upon
the throne. I have never forgotten that historical fact. Over the
years I have collected "wisdoms" from people, my
grandfather, my mother and people in history, past and
present. My favorite one, I'll share with you is from my
grandfather, he died before I was born, but as a share-
cropper to a 66-acre landowner, his stories and wisdoms
have been passed down from generation to generation. "If
you fall, don't wallow, get up, dust yourself off and move
forward"...Valve Squire. I remember his wisdoms when life
gets hard or circumstances seem impossible.
So, I pass it on to all of you.

Spring Cleaning-Coach Valencia
For home for life.
We always think spring cleaning only applies to cleaning our homes. I often use this time to
do a little cleaning in my life as well. Sometimes we hold on to the very things and people
that we need to let go. I use spring cleaning as my fresh start for things of this nature a lot of
times. Here are a few examples of the things you may need to remove from your life:
• People that only bring negativity to your life (family included)
• Those “friends” that never celebrate your success but have a
front row seat in your misery
• Items that you haven’t used in the last 6 months that are just
cluttering space
• People or things that hold you back from chasing your dreams
• Thoughts of being stuck and not being good enough
Once you release these things you will not only free yourself of
the extra clutter but you will also release yourself from the
mental standstill so that you can productively move forward.

Spring is here or is it Summer? The weather in some parts of the country has been consistently warm
and wonderful!
Although the weather has been tricking us,
the one thing we can be certain of is that Valentine’s Day has come and gone.
In February's issue of The Moral Compass, I shared advice on how to love
yourself.
Here are some more tips to help you "Spring into finding your Summer Love!"
There is nothing more attractive than a smile!
We are naturally attracted to people who smile, use your infectious smile to draw people in.
Frowning or scowling have the opposite effect and not only make you feel terrible but no-one else will
want to be around you.
Get a hobby or two. Spring and Summer hobbies are a great way to meet like-minded people.
The sun is out, the birds are singing, you feel more excited and your mind is stimulated.
Hobbies provide good topics of conversation too and you never know who you might meet.
Tell your nearest and dearest folks when you’re ready to find love.
The old traditional methods of matchmaking are tried and tested.
Now-a-days people have a large network so who knows who your family and friends can introduce you
to.
Be happy! Happiness breeds happiness.
If you want a partner who makes you happy and come on who doesn’t, then you must start with you.
Waking up in the morning and spending 60 seconds laughing does wonders for your day!
And don’t forget, whilst you’re laughing look in the mirror, smile and say “I’m back baby!”

FAQS for Buying or Reselling a Home
Are you about to buy or sell your home? Start by considering your long-term goals We just
think about buying home and but there is also a long-term picture to think about as well.
• Do you plan on living there a long time or just a couple of years? If it will just be a couple of
years, you will need to do your research. Know the buyer's market in the area. This will give
you a significant advantage when you are ready to sell.
• Do you plan on having school-aged kids while you live there? Research again! Learn about
the curriculum and reputation of the school. Understand the learning culture of the school
district. Ask potential neighbors their thoughts about the education provided to their
children.
• Will you have any older relatives moving in with you in the next couple of years? If that is
something you have to consider, maybe a one-story house would be the best option. When it
comes to the comfort of space of your home, size and architecture matters!
Thinking about these questions before you head out to look at homes will help narrow down
your selection and give you your best options up front. As a Realtor, I often find that when I
work with a client that has a goal in mind, the home buying process becomes easy. Always
have a goal and watch your life unfold in ways you never thought possible. Would love to talk
to you about your long-term goals and help get you into the home you envision.

7. The Mindset for Writing a Book- Author Mark Booker
Every New Author has the will and wisdom to write a book!
Here are some tips below...
Embrace love in the mindset of writing a book will invigorate your perseverance. At the very
moment that you feel a purpose or a direction or an expression, love is about to set in writing
– it is romance. When circumstances sometimes seem murky, when expectations meet
disappointments, and when unrelated matters invade writing space stay mindful to love your
literariness.
Mentally, consider these three in approaching your writing: your audience, the physical book,
and the literary industry.
Love your audience. Your audience is the place, and the end-user. These places are homes,
universities, schools, bookstores, internet access, libraries, reading rooms and conversations.
The end-users are people who just feel like turning pages. They are children who are
fascinated by the pictures, adults who are gitty about 400 plus page books, book lovers who
decorate their intelligence on bookshelves at work or in reading rooms at home.
Love the feel of your book. Too much time is developed on the content and the cover. Book
lovers have an appeal for the feel of a book – hardcover, paperback, large, pocket size, weight
and page textures.
Fall in love with the literary industry. This love is understanding how people get books,
knowing about those who write about books, communing because of books, learning trends
on books, welcoming librarian-hood, and advocating literacy.
While thought and effort is necessary to the content of your story between the front and back
cover, become affectionate about your audience, the physical book, and the literary industry.
This is the mindset for the love of writing a book. For example, my daughters are co-authors
who sold out of their book at Barnes and Noble. This was no beginners luck, it was their
strategy. They followed the steps noted about and received the following recognition...
“Your success was very impressive. It is uncommon for local authors to sell so many copies at
their first signing. Well done!” – Community Business Development Manager, Barnes and
Noble Booksellers Long Gate
If two children can write a best seller, you can too! I'm here to help you!

8. Working in Chaotic Times- HR Consultant Natalie Smith
Stay focused and maintain control.
With the controversy of the recent election and the daily news stories that are often beyond
shocking and heart wrenching we find ourselves functioning on high alert.
The impact is felt in our personal and professional lives as we are forced to feel as if we must
pick a side, feeling constantly under siege, yet we must still be productive citizens, parents,
and employees.
There is a new-found tension in the workplace as well, as a cloud of gloom along with an
unfounded superiority by some have divided groups and affected productivity as well as
morale.
What do we do? How do we shift the tide and get back to a sense of normalcy in our lives
and work as we maneuver through life’s chaos which has become even more chaotic than
any of us have ever imaged?
First and foremost, always know that while there are many things that are beyond your
control there is always one thing that you can control…that is “yourself”.
Below are some tips on how to take control:
Center yourself with positive thoughts – start the day with positive thoughts. Whether it’s a
prayer, a quote you love or your own personal mantra – keep that first and foremost in your
mind when you wake and throughout the day.
Manage your thoughts – you’ll immediately feel better. Limit social media – we all love it but,
it’s part of the problem. Reduce your time here and spend that extra time on a hobby you
enjoy.
Spend quality time with family and friends – spending time with our loved ones is often
rejuvenating and keep you in good spirits.
Live in the moment – enjoy the simple things and don’t worry about the next headline or
what’s going to happen next month.
Tomorrow is not promised. Enjoy a sunny day, the calming of the rain and practice being in
the moment. It's soothing and will settle your soul. Give back – now more than ever, give
back. Find a cause, mentor a child, volunteer. Take action to make a change in the world.

9. The Moral Compass-Featured Artist Poet Kim W. Owens
Every quarter, we will feature a new writer, artist or poet who will use this
magazine to express their lives during sunny and partly cloudy times. This
month, we are focusing on "knowing your worth." Here is our featured artist,
poet Kim Ownes.
"Penny"
You carelessly diminish my self-worth at your leisure.
You look upon my brown face with disdain when you see me on the street.
You ignore me in the parking lots, the grocery store, at work and at church.
You discard me at your whim, oblivious to my significance.
You pass me by, too smug in your self-centered ignorance to respect my
value.
I will not be ignored...
I am brown...I am proud...I count too...
I am penny.

10. The Moral Compass-Coach Cabrina
Dear Readers,
The Team and I would like to thank you for taking time to
read "The Moral Compass."
Whether at home or work, I'm sure you will agree, that we need
to continue to love ourselves by understanding (paraphrasing Brian), "The Power
of Our Identity."
When it comes to investing in your dreams (writing a book or buying a home),
take a moment and ask yourself "Am I worth it? Am I worthy of love, financial
success, and infinite possibilities? Do I believe that I deserve it?" Once you
determine that you are worth it, GO FOR IT!
Life is full of challenges, we learn and take from those experiences to develop
wisdom. Wise people bounce back. They refocus and live strategic thinking and
action-oriented lives.
When we maintain our moral compass, "self-love, worth, and wisdom" will fall in
place.
Thank you for reading this issue.
