About us
The Change Academy opened in September 2015 in a
renovated area of Dauntless Building – it comprises 2
modern training suites, meeting, thinking and idea
development areas and workstations for project
teams. The role of the academy is to equip all levels
of our business with practical tools for change.
These cover:
•	 How to lead change
•	How to analyse and solve problems as effectively
as possible
•	 How to engage more of our people in delivering
the future vision
What we do
Our intention is that the Change Academy is not just
a training facility; our courses are designed to give
knowledge that can be used practically in the
workplace. We also have developed a number of
Change Coaches, BAE Systems people, who will
support teams who have attended the academy in
applying their new knowledge in the workplace.
The Change Academy is an important part of
delivering the future requirements of our customer
– times are challenging, expectations are being
raised from our customer who demands best value
services without compromise – we must be forward
thinking and deliver on this requirement, the change
academy is here to help achieve these goals

It is our belief that everyone in the business should
have a voice in change and everyone has the
capability to change their workplace for the better.
We use the following three models to help us
analyse the business and to support teams and
individuals within it to implement change effectively:
The Lean Business Model
This model allows us to critique our business areas
and to test them against a number of core ideas
that we see in businesses that are consistently good
at change and as a result are performing very well. 6
Situational Leadership II
Situational Leadership II provides a new language
of leadership that increases the quality of our
conversations and develops others’ self-reliance. 6
Three Systems Model
The three systems model is our template for helping
working teams deliver many small improvements in
their work systematically and effectively. 6

Ourcourses
We support a number of levels of training and
development as set out below. Our programme has
been accredited throaugh Cardiff University and we are
able to offer recognised qualifications on completion.
Qualifications are gained partly through
demonstrating knowledge of the material from the
training but mainly from using it in the workplace
and submitting a short report on the effect that
this had complete with your reflections as a result of
working on a change project.
