Pinterest is an online pinboard that allows users to collect and organize images and other media by creating boards. Users can pin images from websites onto their boards by copying the image URL. Pinterest displays pins from accounts a user follows in a mosaic layout. Users can customize their profile and boards to collect and organize anything they like, such as decorating ideas, color palettes, or locations of Photoshop brushes. Users can find other people to follow by connecting their existing social media accounts like Twitter or Facebook to their Pinterest profile.
2. What is Pinterest?
• Pinterest is basically an internet based
pinboard, memory board, scrapbook etc. etc.
• Its focus is on images but the really handy
thing is that those images are linked to the
originating site.
• This means Pinterest can almost be used like a
cloud based bookmarking system too.
• Make collections of whatever you like so you
can find things later!
3. What is Pinterest continued…
• When you look at Pinterest it shows you a
sequential list of new pins by those you follow
• Unlike the list type feed of twitter it’s more
like a mosaic of pictures by you and users you
follow.
4. How to Join Pinterest
• Unlike Instagram you can use Pinterest on
both mobile platforms and PC/Mac.
• Whether you sign up on the website or using
the app it’s very similar to the way you signed
up to Instagram.
• You’re free to then customise your profile as
you see fit, then comes the fun…
5. Now you have a Pinterest Account.
• Now you can create boards to organise
anything you like.
• You just copy and paste the link to the image
you want to add into the box under the Add
Pin option
