Comparing Two Identities
the two identities I've developed is the "friend" and "scholar" identity. They both are different but occasionally both personalities intersect each
other. I am 18 years old so I haven't developed certain identities because I am still growing in currently in the adolescence stage where my mind it's
getting the sense of being more stabilize of being introduced to independence and you're starting to grasp the idea of what you like and don't like. In
this phase, it's hard at times because of the transition. You're in between of a child and an adult stage where you can do and can't–do certain things
especially living with your parents they set rules such as curfews there isn't as much leeway. Developing certain personalities growing up makes me

Hanging out with my friends is a way to relieve some stress and not be as cautious in the way I speak. In fact, since I was born and raised in New
York I speak certain slang that perhaps someone from the south or Midwest part of the country may not understand. My friends and I have a lot more
things in common we like going to coffee shops or we like eating sushi near a place in our old high school where we all met. As a friend, I like joking
a lot and teasing. I occasionally like to "spill the tea" with my friends in recent events that occur in my life. We are a group of girls that go to
college and have that in common that forms a big identity and when we bring up the topic we try to help each other out or advice when taking a
certain class that I already took. I like being helpful and I try to grasp as much information from my friends to be informed because I am the first
generation to attend college in my family, especially because I'm the first born you don't really have someone to turn to when you need help in doing
something.
As a "scholar" developing this identity is a big part of my life. This identity intersects a lot when I'm in the "friend" role. Stepping into college I feel
myself getting stressed I tend to be a bit more grumpy. Why my behavior and the way I act and speak differentiates is because of the setting and
people in with such as parents and professors. the language I use is much more respectful I don't use slang at all it probably does slip out occasionally

Compare And Contrast Two Friends
We all have friends that are alike or different from each other. My friend Nicole and Amy are also friends. Both of them are alike in some ways, but
at the same time unlike from each other. For example, they both dress to their comfort, but the clothes they choose to wear are different. They both
have similar taste in music and television shows. However, Nicole and Amy are more different than alike. Nicole and Amy have different
appearance and style. Nicole is five feet and two inches with medium brown wavy hair that is shoulder length. She has big eyes and also freckles on
her face. Nicole tends to dress very casually. For an instant, she would wear jean with a graphic tee or a blouse and navy blue classic vans. She
occasionally keeps up with the latest fashion trend. On the other hand, Amy is just 5 feet tall with...show more content...
Nicole's personality is super shy and, quiet when it comes to new people or people she rarely talks to. However, when it comes to people she likes
and enjoys talking to, she is a social butterfly. Amy was never in any a team sport. However, she plays tennis with her cousins for fun. Amy is really
sociable and blunt at the same time. I remember a time during lunch there was a table across from us were talking super loud and she shout "shut up".
Amy is not afraid to speak her mind while Nicole is more shy and quiet. Nicole cannot stand watching gory, horror and supernatural movie. For
example, during summer, our friend, Julie, invited Nicole, Amy, and Iwatch Green Inferno. Nicole did not want to come along due to the fact that
when she watched the trailer of that movie she found it super gory and disgusting. However, Amy did not find that trailer gory and disgusting and
came long to watch the movie with us. Amy enjoys watching horror or supernatural movie or shows. For example, during the month of October, there
was a movie call Crimson Peak and Amy wanted to watch it while Nicole did not want

Compare and Contrast Two Leaders
INTRODUCTION
This essay will compare and contrast the characteristics of two of America's female leaders. In analysing the effectiveness of their leadership, this
essay will evaluate the traits, personality, history, experience, and values of each leader. The ability to bring people together around shared beliefs
and a common organisational purpose to create a sense of belonging is a prerequisite for an effective leader and will formulate the basis of defining
an effective leader for the purpose of this paper.
Sarah Louise Heath Palin was named by Time Magazine as one of the world's top leaders for 2010. As an American politician who was Governor of the
state of Alaska from 2006 to July 2009 and the Republican vice presidential...show more content...
Oprah Winfrey was not born into leadership but to the contrary, she brought herself to where she is today due to her determination, good will and her
strength. Having lived through a very hard childhood which pushed her to her limits, but that didn't stop her, she used that as a reason to make success
and break the mould.
Leadership is a process as demonstrated by the accomplishments of Oprah as she has used her television series; her network; her magazine and her
brand to evaluate her life and experiences and espouse positive ideals to followers. The development of her brand has been possible to the evolution
of her belief system and business acumen. As a leader, entrepreneur and manger Oprah has demonstrated that leadership is not innate nor is it static
but rather a dynamic process of evolution. One cannot deny that in evaluating her leadership style and success one notes that she has inspired a wide
cross section of persons and as such is able to action and manage much change for individuals, groups and her own company and brand. Oprah has
been able to effectively lead her company and groups of followers thanks to her adaptive leadership skills; where she is constantly evaluating the
potential of new options but bearing in mind the implications on her brand but also others. Oprah's strength as a leader has resulted from her
continuous intent to build networks around her and with her

Comparing Two Choices
Did you grow up in a small town or a big city? There are many different opinions on which one is better for a person overall, which can often lead to
arguments. Choices can have both positive and negative sides to them. In this case both choices that are given have pros and cons. The better choice
is to grow up in a big city.
The first reason that growing up in a big city is good, is that you have the chance to meet more people in big cities usually have a lot of people in
them, of all races and ethnicities. Growing up in this kind of environment can help a person socially. It helps a person not judge people as much and
teaches people how to face social problems. Meeting more people could also make you more socially active because there

Compare And Contrast Two Places
Compare & Contrast Essay
Imagine two places where you could choose with the outcome of receiving new life experiences. You could choose two places that have different
settings, where you could visit for vacation or simply choose to live there depending on your decision. But which of these places would you
choose? It could be so difficult to decide. Each place have their own environment that has its pro's and con's along with it. Many of you may be
asking yourself "What places could the narrator be talking about?" Pretty funny how I can relate to your thoughts, the two places we have come too,
to listen to their seminaries & differences are the lovely two states named Florida & North Carolina located in the United States of America.

North Carolina is home for a famous NFL team known as the North Carolina panthers, along with famous attractions such as the Nascar hall of fame.
It's mainly known for land, along with small towns. North Carolina has a different surrounding as of Florida. North Carolina has a very historical
event where the actual Wright Brother's officially flew a plane, outside the outer banks by popular beaches. North Carolina, has great college's too
choose from for example you have Duke University, North Carolina State University that provide excellent educational plans to study for a major
of your future careers. Here's the fact the minimum wage for North Carolina is way less then Florida currently they're providing $7.25 while in
Florida they provide $8.05. Sure Eighty five cent's sounds small but it's a big difference. Along with economic differences. The main differences
between Florida & North Carolina is considered an always hot environment while in north Carolina is different, mainly seasonal changes occur,
Experiencing all of the changes in your surroundings. If you're looking for a more satisfying place to live in, it depends on your taste but if you'd
like to experience many things I'd recommend Florida as I listed the reasons before by experiencing certain aspects such as the state provides more

Comparing Two Paragraphs
Paragraph 1: If I would have to trace the moral growth of one of the character in the video, I would pick the little boy. Because the little boy was
mad at the guy who always tell him the story. As he was telling the story about "x", also knows as a humanoid robot. So, the little boy stop getting him
wrong and start to like him. The way he was hugging him is like, the little boy was out of all the misunderstood that he had. To me, I would say the story
about the robot influenced his moral growth.
Paragraph 2: As I understand that since the "x" was a robot and had no choice on living his life. Actually, it was not even his life in the real world.
He was just a robot which runs with all the programming inside him. When I was watching the clips, I felt like the little boy knows what he was
going to tell him the story about. And the story teller was the same person as the robot. I remember the picture of his wife and son who looks like the
little boy and his mother on the picture. I' am guessing that the little boy wanted to know the truth of the story from that man.

might learn anything that your friend do. I had a very best friend like couple of years but her friends were so bad. My friend was really very nice,
never smoked, use weeds, and alcohol when we were a best friend. Since, she start going out with them; she totally changed her habits just because of
her new friends. Overall, what I learned from her was you can learn anything when they're around you. No matter how good that is or

Comparing Two And The Love Of My Life
Eerie, emotional pain, an unbearable sadness. These are feelings being felt nationally on February 13, or National Breakup Day. The love two
people once shared turns into a sudden loss. How a person recovers from a loss is truly up to him or her and his or her mindset. In the novel, Two by
Two by Nicholas Sparks, and the short story, "TheLove of My Life" by T. Coraghessan Boyle, the underlying themes deal with falling in and out of
love and dealing with the loss (Rice). To understand the background of these two elements, the reader should first develop a thorough understanding of
what love and loss are, what inspires the author's writings, and how the main characters portray love and loss. The authors, Nicholas Sparks and T.

with his beautiful wife Vivian. The two live lavishly and suddenly decide to have a baby. Russell makes it clear to Vivian that they need to cut
spending a bit to save up and provide their child with the best life possible. This creates arguments between the two and Vivian distances herself from
Russell. She soon leaves Russell to start a high–end job in a different state. At this point, Russell is trying to create his own successful insurance firm
while adjusting to his new life as a single father. He realizes that his daughter, London, is "just as much his world as he is her world" (Ray). He
becomes a successful insurer and he and London live happily together: however, Russell is still haunted by how quickly Vivian left him and hopes
London will never do that same. Russell's love turned loss still keeps him asking questions that may never be answered, but at the same token, he is
happy with his life after Vivian

MY TWO BROTHERS
No two people are exactly alike, and my two older brothers, Thu Nguyen and Thang Nguyen, are no exceptions. When I think of them, I think of
Rudyard Kipling's words, "East is East. West is West. Never the twain shall meet."
Even though they have the same parents, their considerable differences in looks, personalities, and attitude toward life reflect the differences between
Eastern and Western cultures.
Like the majority of oriental men, Thu is short, small, and has a full moon–shaped face. His smooth white skin and small arms and feet make him look
somewhat delicate. Thu always likes to wear formal, traditional clothes. For example, on great holidays or at family rice celebrations, Thu appears

in an apartment by himself. He is such an individualist that all the members in my family say that he is selfish.

COMPARISON AND CONTRAST ESSAY
Comparison and Contrast Essay
Definition: In this kind of essay, the aim is to show the similarities and differences of two items, two people, two countries, or how something or
someone has changed. When comparing two things, we focus more on the similarities though we may mention the differences shortly. When
contrasting two things, we point out the differences between them. The most important point to consider while planning a comparison and contrast
essay is choosing comparable items. e.g. Middle East TechnicalUniversity and Bogazici University. We have to make sure that these two items have
enough points to be compared. After writing the comparable points as a list, location, size, reputation, ...show more content...

coherent; it is easier for the reader to follow our ideas when transitions are used to link them together. However, overuse of transitions causes a traffic
jam and should be avoided. We should be using transitions sparingly (only when necessary). Sample comparison contrast essay: METU and Bogazici

Comparing Two Neighborhoods
A Different Neighborhood Similar to Mine Nouns are often separated into different categories, for instance, neighborhoods are often categorized by
where they're located. Their location may give the neighborhood a label such as the ghetto. However a neighborhoods location will never change a
similarity it might have with another. In A Hope in the Unseen Cedric grows up in a neighborhood located in Washington D.C., while I grew up in
Kansas City. These are two completely different places, 16 hours away, but my neighborhood as well as Cedric's will always share similarities and
differences not by their label but by what surrounds and what our neighborhoods is like. We are living in different neighborhoods but they are similar in

to High View apartments (11). This neighborhood isn't much different than the one I live in. Although the way threat is handled is different. In
my neighborhood I know of people's lives who have been endangered due to their physical appearance. In other words, they were probably wearing
a hood or something that could've gave off the wrong impression to other people and this could've caused a problem. This is similar to Cedric's
neighborhood because he had gotten a leather jacket for Christmas and this endangered his life. People in his neighborhood were known to get
killed over leather jackets (101). Now in contrast, people who could have been seen as a threat in my neighborhood would most likely not get killed
but the police could have gotten involved. Another threat that could've also caused a problem in my neighborhood would be getting to close to a
neighbors house. This could cause the dogs guarding the house to attack or bark at whoever is near. This is similar to Cedric's neighborhood because
of the drug dealers that surround the neighborhood. If Cedric was to get to close to them, making it seem as if he was a threat to them then this could
cause them to attack him as

Comparing Two Stages
There are two stages that could be identified in this challenge: identity vs role confusion and intimacy vs isolation but the one I will focus the most on
will be the second one. When the identity vs role confusion crisis had been resolved "the young adult now faces the task of sharing this newly–minted
identity with at least one other person and selected companions (Marcia & Josselson, 2013, p. 622)." According to Erikson psychosocial theory,
intimacy vs isolation crisis is characterized by the need for young adults to find life partner and build significant relationships (Boyd, Johnson & Bee,
2015, p. 408). "Intimacy represents the quality of interactions and the feeling of closeness, both of which are necessary components for successful

Comparing Two Eras
Compare two different eras or cultures and point out the similarities and differences in people's ideas about childhood. Make a general assessment
about the extent to which these ideas are similar (or, if you like different).
Childhood is a complex and subjective concept, which involves the fixation of the relationship between a child and adult. The Victorian era and modern
day society both share three distinguishing features, education, literature and law, which reveal to a great extent the similarities that have furthered the
development of what childhood is perceived as. Both eras share similar ideologies in regards, with the author's intention of showcasing a child's
innocence and purity through their open mindedness and instinctive nature...show more content...
The Victorian Era was the 'Golden Age' for children's literature, as adults expressed childhood innocence and purity in texts by starting again with a
childlike perspective in order to engage with the audience. Many authors sought to create books for children to further emphasis the ideals of
childhood innocence, goodness and the vision of restoring the moral wellbeing of adults and society, such as Lewis Carroll and Robert Louis
Stevenson who wrote mainly for children, tales of adventures and child–like interests. Modern day authors have also continued furthering this trend of
childhood innocence and goodness through symbolic motifs, which occurs through a character who is naГЇve or childlike initially but develops into a
mature adult such a Lucy Pevensie in 'The Chronicles of Narnia' by Lewis Carroll. Lucy is an innocent girl who has an enormous curiosity which
leads to her own development as a person through her uncorrupted eyes. Professor Reynolds expresses the depth of the need for a childhood as "even
expressing a longing themselves to be children once more" emphasising the strong childhood ideals which offer its own unique opportunities for
stressing the value of childhood freedom that adults have dismissed in order to make a living in society. As Carroll put it in his poem

Comparing Two Studies Essay
The two studies use different groups of participants: one, relatively well–educated; the other, tertiary students. Comment on the main differences
between these two groups and highlight any concerns or uncertainty that these groups bring to the conclusions of these studies? Regarding the
Nankervis (1999) study, the participants were primary tertiary students which would be an indication that they would be young adults in the range
of 18 years old, to early 20s. This can result in not having private motorised vehicles therefore requiring the use of a bicycle to commute or by
walking. Comparing this to the Flynn et al. (2012) study, the majority of participants were of age 40 or above, so the likelihood of already having
access to a private motorised vehicle is much higher. Expectations of people who are employed is typically much stricter, this can include clothing,
grooming and time of which they arrive and leave. However, with tertiary students as stated by Nankervis (1999), they are more likely to arrive in a

covered by the weather station were not directly accurate of local details. Snow depth weather details did not account for actual road conditions. Lastly,
the data primarily focused on the morning. These two studies shared the same limitation in the data being only taken in morning commuting

Comparing Two Short Story Characters
Almost everyone from different culture that lives in another country has some issues when trying to raise their family. For me, that im living this
experience, it's a little difficult to adapt in the society. But when I read the short story "Everyday Use" and the "A pair of tickets" I find myself.
Because I feel inspired by these two stories, I choose to compare the character of Dee and June May Woo.
First of all, when comparing these two characters I found some similarities because Dee is an African–American and June is American–Chinese.
Moreover, they seem to have the same family issue because they fight a lot with their parents. Also, both of them don't want to follow their traditions
because they feel

Comparing Two Interview Essay
One man works in an office and the other works on the field. In my interview project I decided to look at two different job fields to compare the two
while learning from each. Not only are jobs different, but also the people working them are and both come from two different backgrounds. The most
important thing I learned out of the interviews was that no matter what job field you enter, hard work is required. My first interview was a man named
Andrew Galasky who lives in phoenix, Arizona. Andrew or "Andy" is a Divorce case attorney who owns his own practice. When Andrew was a
kid he had dreams of being a dentist, so in college he followed the dream until he had a science class. Andy couldn't get pass organic chemistry so
he switched to law his second year of college at Arizona State University. He then graduated college and attended law school at ASU. After
graduating Grad School Andy entered into a law firm eventually breaking off and creating his own. My second interview was with a retired NFL
football player named Terry Battle. Terry also lives in Phoenix, Arizona but is originally from California. Coming out of high school, Terry received a
full ride scholarship to Arizona State University to play football. Terry...show more content...

similarity I found was that both interviewees said they never had time to spend with their family. Andy said he worked from 8 A.M to 10 P.M when
he first started, and Terry said he worked from 6 A.M to 8 P.M. Andy said that his hours changed when he opened his own firm because he controlled
when he worked. Terry said his family time stayed the same until he went into teaching. There were many differences that separated the two between

in From My Parents to Me the narrative is about Shio Fung Zhu the author. Another big difference is that in the narrative From My Parents to Me the
author feels "My situations have led me to a place between Chinese and American culture, where I do not fully possess one or the other, but it is not a

Comparing Two Identities

  • 1. Comparing Two Identities the two identities I've developed is the "friend" and "scholar" identity. They both are different but occasionally both personalities intersect each other. I am 18 years old so I haven't developed certain identities because I am still growing in currently in the adolescence stage where my mind it's getting the sense of being more stabilize of being introduced to independence and you're starting to grasp the idea of what you like and don't like. In this phase, it's hard at times because of the transition. You're in between of a child and an adult stage where you can do and can't–do certain things especially living with your parents they set rules such as curfews there isn't as much leeway. Developing certain personalities growing up makes me ...show more content... Hanging out with my friends is a way to relieve some stress and not be as cautious in the way I speak. In fact, since I was born and raised in New York I speak certain slang that perhaps someone from the south or Midwest part of the country may not understand. My friends and I have a lot more things in common we like going to coffee shops or we like eating sushi near a place in our old high school where we all met. As a friend, I like joking a lot and teasing. I occasionally like to "spill the tea" with my friends in recent events that occur in my life. We are a group of girls that go to college and have that in common that forms a big identity and when we bring up the topic we try to help each other out or advice when taking a certain class that I already took. I like being helpful and I try to grasp as much information from my friends to be informed because I am the first generation to attend college in my family, especially because I'm the first born you don't really have someone to turn to when you need help in doing something. As a "scholar" developing this identity is a big part of my life. This identity intersects a lot when I'm in the "friend" role. Stepping into college I feel myself getting stressed I tend to be a bit more grumpy. Why my behavior and the way I act and speak differentiates is because of the setting and people in with such as parents and professors. the language I use is much more respectful I don't use slang at all it probably does slip out occasionally without me Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Compare And Contrast Two Friends We all have friends that are alike or different from each other. My friend Nicole and Amy are also friends. Both of them are alike in some ways, but at the same time unlike from each other. For example, they both dress to their comfort, but the clothes they choose to wear are different. They both have similar taste in music and television shows. However, Nicole and Amy are more different than alike. Nicole and Amy have different appearance and style. Nicole is five feet and two inches with medium brown wavy hair that is shoulder length. She has big eyes and also freckles on her face. Nicole tends to dress very casually. For an instant, she would wear jean with a graphic tee or a blouse and navy blue classic vans. She occasionally keeps up with the latest fashion trend. On the other hand, Amy is just 5 feet tall with...show more content... Nicole's personality is super shy and, quiet when it comes to new people or people she rarely talks to. However, when it comes to people she likes and enjoys talking to, she is a social butterfly. Amy was never in any a team sport. However, she plays tennis with her cousins for fun. Amy is really sociable and blunt at the same time. I remember a time during lunch there was a table across from us were talking super loud and she shout "shut up". Amy is not afraid to speak her mind while Nicole is more shy and quiet. Nicole cannot stand watching gory, horror and supernatural movie. For example, during summer, our friend, Julie, invited Nicole, Amy, and Iwatch Green Inferno. Nicole did not want to come along due to the fact that when she watched the trailer of that movie she found it super gory and disgusting. However, Amy did not find that trailer gory and disgusting and came long to watch the movie with us. Amy enjoys watching horror or supernatural movie or shows. For example, during the month of October, there was a movie call Crimson Peak and Amy wanted to watch it while Nicole did not want Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Compare and Contrast Two Leaders INTRODUCTION This essay will compare and contrast the characteristics of two of America's female leaders. In analysing the effectiveness of their leadership, this essay will evaluate the traits, personality, history, experience, and values of each leader. The ability to bring people together around shared beliefs and a common organisational purpose to create a sense of belonging is a prerequisite for an effective leader and will formulate the basis of defining an effective leader for the purpose of this paper. Sarah Louise Heath Palin was named by Time Magazine as one of the world's top leaders for 2010. As an American politician who was Governor of the state of Alaska from 2006 to July 2009 and the Republican vice presidential...show more content... Oprah Winfrey was not born into leadership but to the contrary, she brought herself to where she is today due to her determination, good will and her strength. Having lived through a very hard childhood which pushed her to her limits, but that didn't stop her, she used that as a reason to make success and break the mould. Leadership is a process as demonstrated by the accomplishments of Oprah as she has used her television series; her network; her magazine and her brand to evaluate her life and experiences and espouse positive ideals to followers. The development of her brand has been possible to the evolution of her belief system and business acumen. As a leader, entrepreneur and manger Oprah has demonstrated that leadership is not innate nor is it static but rather a dynamic process of evolution. One cannot deny that in evaluating her leadership style and success one notes that she has inspired a wide cross section of persons and as such is able to action and manage much change for individuals, groups and her own company and brand. Oprah has been able to effectively lead her company and groups of followers thanks to her adaptive leadership skills; where she is constantly evaluating the potential of new options but bearing in mind the implications on her brand but also others. Oprah's strength as a leader has resulted from her continuous intent to build networks around her and with her Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Comparing Two Choices Did you grow up in a small town or a big city? There are many different opinions on which one is better for a person overall, which can often lead to arguments. Choices can have both positive and negative sides to them. In this case both choices that are given have pros and cons. The better choice is to grow up in a big city. The first reason that growing up in a big city is good, is that you have the chance to meet more people in big cities usually have a lot of people in them, of all races and ethnicities. Growing up in this kind of environment can help a person socially. It helps a person not judge people as much and teaches people how to face social problems. Meeting more people could also make you more socially active because there Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Because the little boy was mad at the guy who always tell him the story. As he was telling the story about "x", also knows as a humanoid robot. So, the little boy stop getting him wrong and start to like him. The way he was hugging him is like, the little boy was out of all the misunderstood that he had. To me, I would say the story about the robot influenced his moral growth. Paragraph 2: As I understand that since the "x" was a robot and had no choice on living his life. Actually, it was not even his life in the real world. He was just a robot which runs with all the programming inside him. When I was watching the clips, I felt like the little boy knows what he was going to tell him the story about. And the story teller was the same person as the robot. I remember the picture of his wife and son who looks like the little boy and his mother on the picture. I' am guessing that the little boy wanted to know the truth of the story from that man. • 7. Comparing Two And The Love Of My Life Eerie, emotional pain, an unbearable sadness. These are feelings being felt nationally on February 13, or National Breakup Day. The love two people once shared turns into a sudden loss. How a person recovers from a loss is truly up to him or her and his or her mindset. In the novel, Two by Two by Nicholas Sparks, and the short story, "TheLove of My Life" by T. Coraghessan Boyle, the underlying themes deal with falling in and out of love and dealing with the loss (Rice). To understand the background of these two elements, the reader should first develop a thorough understanding of what love and loss are, what inspires the author's writings, and how the main characters portray love and loss. The authors, Nicholas Sparks and T. Coraghessan Boyle,...show more content... In his newest novel Two by Two that "centralizes around conflicting romances," Sparks uses "the power that only love can achieve, to resolves conflicts and live happily ever after" (Baron). The novel is about Russell Green, a young, married man who is well off and living a luxurious life with his beautiful wife Vivian. The two live lavishly and suddenly decide to have a baby. Russell makes it clear to Vivian that they need to cut spending a bit to save up and provide their child with the best life possible. This creates arguments between the two and Vivian distances herself from Russell. She soon leaves Russell to start a high–end job in a different state. At this point, Russell is trying to create his own successful insurance firm while adjusting to his new life as a single father. He realizes that his daughter, London, is "just as much his world as he is her world" (Ray). He becomes a successful insurer and he and London live happily together: however, Russell is still haunted by how quickly Vivian left him and hopes London will never do that same. Russell's love turned loss still keeps him asking questions that may never be answered, but at the same token, he is happy with his life after Vivian Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Comparison Essay Comparison Essay MY TWO BROTHERS No two people are exactly alike, and my two older brothers, Thu Nguyen and Thang Nguyen, are no exceptions. When I think of them, I think of Rudyard Kipling's words, "East is East. West is West. Never the twain shall meet." Even though they have the same parents, their considerable differences in looks, personalities, and attitude toward life reflect the differences between Eastern and Western cultures. Like the majority of oriental men, Thu is short, small, and has a full moon–shaped face. His smooth white skin and small arms and feet make him look somewhat delicate. Thu always likes to wear formal, traditional clothes. For example, on great holidays or at family rice celebrations, Thu appears ...show more content... And like American youths, Thang is independent; in fact, he loves his independence more than he loves his family. He wants to move out of our house and live in an apartment by himself. He is such an individualist that all the members in my family say that he is selfish. My brothers' differences do not end with looks and personalities. Concerning Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Comparison and Contrast Essay COMPARISON AND CONTRAST ESSAY Comparison and Contrast Essay Definition: In this kind of essay, the aim is to show the similarities and differences of two items, two people, two countries, or how something or someone has changed. When comparing two things, we focus more on the similarities though we may mention the differences shortly. When contrasting two things, we point out the differences between them. The most important point to consider while planning a comparison and contrast essay is choosing comparable items. e.g. Middle East TechnicalUniversity and Bogazici University. Comparing Two Neighborhoods A Different Neighborhood Similar to Mine Nouns are often separated into different categories, for instance, neighborhoods are often categorized by where they're located. Their location may give the neighborhood a label such as the ghetto. However a neighborhoods location will never change a similarity it might have with another. In A Hope in the Unseen Cedric grows up in a neighborhood located in Washington D.C., while I grew up in Kansas City. These are two completely different places, 16 hours away, but my neighborhood as well as Cedric's will always share similarities and differences not by their label but by what surrounds and what our neighborhoods is like. This neighborhood isn't much different than the one I live in. Although the way threat is handled is different. In my neighborhood I know of people's lives who have been endangered due to their physical appearance. In other words, they were probably wearing a hood or something that could've gave off the wrong impression to other people and this could've caused a problem. This is similar to Cedric's neighborhood because he had gotten a leather jacket for Christmas and this endangered his life. People in his neighborhood were known to get killed over leather jackets (101). Now in contrast, people who could have been seen as a threat in my neighborhood would most likely not get killed but the police could have gotten involved. Another threat that could've also caused a problem in my neighborhood would be getting to close to a neighbors house. This could cause the dogs guarding the house to attack or bark at whoever is near. This is similar to Cedric's neighborhood because of the drug dealers that surround the neighborhood. If Cedric was to get to close to them, making it seem as if he was a threat to them then this could cause them to attack him as Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Abbie has a younger brother, an older brother, and an older sister. Whereas Ashton only has a younger sister and an older sister. Ashton, being the middle child, often feels neglected and left out. Comparing Two Stages There are two stages that could be identified in this challenge: identity vs role confusion and intimacy vs isolation but the one I will focus the most on will be the second one. When the identity vs role confusion crisis had been resolved "the young adult now faces the task of sharing this newly–minted identity with at least one other person and selected companions (Marcia & Josselson, 2013, p. 622)." According to Erikson psychosocial theory, intimacy vs isolation crisis is characterized by the need for young adults to find life partner and build significant relationships (Boyd, Johnson & Bee, 2015, p. 408). Make a general assessment about the extent to which these ideas are similar (or, if you like different). Childhood is a complex and subjective concept, which involves the fixation of the relationship between a child and adult. The Victorian era and modern day society both share three distinguishing features, education, literature and law, which reveal to a great extent the similarities that have furthered the development of what childhood is perceived as. Both eras share similar ideologies in regards, with the author's intention of showcasing a child's innocence and purity through their open mindedness and instinctive nature...show more content... The Victorian Era was the 'Golden Age' for children's literature, as adults expressed childhood innocence and purity in texts by starting again with a childlike perspective in order to engage with the audience. Many authors sought to create books for children to further emphasis the ideals of childhood innocence, goodness and the vision of restoring the moral wellbeing of adults and society, such as Lewis Carroll and Robert Louis Stevenson who wrote mainly for children, tales of adventures and child–like interests. Modern day authors have also continued furthering this trend of childhood innocence and goodness through symbolic motifs, which occurs through a character who is naГЇve or childlike initially but develops into a mature adult such a Lucy Pevensie in 'The Chronicles of Narnia' by Lewis Carroll. Lucy is an innocent girl who has an enormous curiosity which leads to her own development as a person through her uncorrupted eyes. Professor Reynolds expresses the depth of the need for a childhood as "even expressing a longing themselves to be children once more" emphasising the strong childhood ideals which offer its own unique opportunities for stressing the value of childhood freedom that adults have dismissed in order to make a living in society. Comment on the main differences between these two groups and highlight any concerns or uncertainty that these groups bring to the conclusions of these studies? Regarding the Nankervis (1999) study, the participants were primary tertiary students which would be an indication that they would be young adults in the range of 18 years old, to early 20s. This can result in not having private motorised vehicles therefore requiring the use of a bicycle to commute or by walking. Comparing this to the Flynn et al. (2012) study, the majority of participants were of age 40 or above, so the likelihood of already having access to a private motorised vehicle is much higher. • 17. Comparing Two Short Story Comparing Two Short Story Characters Almost everyone from different culture that lives in another country has some issues when trying to raise their family. For me, that im living this experience, it's a little difficult to adapt in the society. • 18. Comparing Two Interview Essay One man works in an office and the other works on the field. In my interview project I decided to look at two different job fields to compare the two while learning from each. Not only are jobs different, but also the people working them are and both come from two different backgrounds. The most important thing I learned out of the interviews was that no matter what job field you enter, hard work is required. My first interview was a man named Andrew Galasky who lives in phoenix, Arizona. Andrew or "Andy" is a Divorce case attorney who owns his own practice. When Andrew was a kid he had dreams of being a dentist, so in college he followed the dream until he had a science class. Andy couldn't get pass organic chemistry so he switched to law his second year of college at Arizona State University. He then graduated college and attended law school at ASU. After graduating Grad School Andy entered into a law firm eventually breaking off and creating his own. My second interview was with a retired NFL football player named Terry Battle. Terry also lives in Phoenix, Arizona but is originally from California. Coming out of high school, Terry received a full ride scholarship to Arizona State University to play football. Terry...show more content... There weren't many comparisons to the two except for the fact that they both made over 150k and both attended Arizona State University. One major similarity I found was that both interviewees said they never had time to spend with their family. Andy said he worked from 8 A.M to 10 P.M when he first started, and Terry said he worked from 6 A.M to 8 P.M. Andy said that his hours changed when he opened his own firm because he controlled when he worked. Terry said his family time stayed the same until he went into teaching. There were many differences that separated the two between education, knowledge, and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 19. Comparing Two Narratives I chose the narratives From My Parents to Me by Shio Fung Zhu , and Grandma's Story by Genevieve Hynes. These two narratives are similar because both main characters emigrated from another country to America and struggled to learn the English language. Furthermore, each narrative talks about their different cultures. The biggest differences between the two narratives are that in Grandma's Story the narrative is based on the grandmother while in From My Parents to Me the narrative is about Shio Fung Zhu the author. Another big difference is that in the narrative From My Parents to Me the author feels "My situations have led me to a place between Chinese and American culture, where I do not fully possess one or the other, but it is not a full Get more content on HelpWriting.net
