media. Through the social media kids may be doing dangerous things, so parents found out a way to protect and monitor their kids from the dangers of
the internet. These monitoring tools are called spyware. Most kids don't know dangerous the internet is, because they aren't old enough yet, so moat
parents just use it for that reason. Some parents, though, overuse their power with the spyware and look at every little thing kids do which is an
invasion of privacy for most kids, and they at least to know that they are being monitored. Most kids want their privacy, but their parents need to protect
their kids from the dangers of it and they to need to use the internet responsibly. Kids need to know how dangerous the internet really is before being

Thinking about the internet reminds me of something that was said in my history class. My professor was lecturing about the early colonies in
America and how the men of that time had to sail up and down coasts in order to make maps. They had to actually draw these landscapes as they
saw them. This process would sometimes take years to accomplish. I realized that the technology our ancestors used could today be accomplished in
seconds versus years. I have access, at the touch of a button, to maps from satellites miles above the earth. I can go shopping without ever moving my

Roswell is a city that I really have trouble with in this area, every building looks the same and all the roads sound the same. If it weren't for the
directions that I received in Travelocity.com I would have never made it to pick up my prom dress last year. With school and work filling most of my
schedule anything that saves me time is a lifesaver. Therefore I shop on the internet as much as possible. For instance, when I was in high school, I
hated having to drive to a book store to acquire my summer reading books. I once spent a whole day searching for one book at several different
book stores all over town and the town next to mine; only to find out that almost every kid in my grade, and at every school in the surrounding
counties was buying and looking for the same books. All of us were buying out and harassing the clerks for theses books at stores such as Barnes and
Nobles, local bookstores such as Jillian's Books, and Walden Books. What a waste of time! There is so much merchandise , like my books, that can be
purchased over the internet. E–Bay is also a place where everyday people buy and sell personal items and equipment. My brother, Ben, loves E–Bay
because this is where he finds accessories to his 1972 master craft boat which he is re–building. E–Bay has introduced him to a whole new world of
shopping. With out it he would still be searching for the limited items that he has

Would you rather learn about someone via Internet interactions or face to face? I have noticed increased shadiness when it comes to identifying one's
self on the internet, whether it be on a dating site, in email, through posting on Blogger–type sites, or in instant messaging. There seems to be two
different types of people out there, those who are suspicious and those that just don't seem to care about who read their stuff. This is problematic in
many ways. First off, there is the feeling of anonymity and that no one will really know who they are or what they are doing on the web, for example,

So many people use online dating sites to find a mate, but how can you know what other person is telling you is accurate?
On the other end of the spectrum, many people, namely, another friend of mine, Georgia (name has been changed) who doesn't care who sees what
she posts on Blogger and LiveJournal and just pours herself out. Personally, I find this a bit unsettling, as I think some details should just be kept to
ones self! Perhaps this is part of the demise of the private individual. Because I am suspicious of others, I would never find myself spilling hugely
personal details about my life online, however, I can see how those people use the Internet as a sounding board, like a therapist of sorts, or a place to
vent and unload emotional baggage. I highly doubt that this will lead to the falling out of the therapist profession, as a cold and non–responsive
computer screen cannot replace real people. This seems to also lead to a double life thing, and this is perfectly dangerous. You'd never know John Doe
who never cheats on his taxes or misses a Sunday congregation spends his afternoon chatting with pre–teen girls, as if he was a pre–teen boy, trying to
get them to meet him at the McDonalds in the next city so he can rape and murder them. Scary! Nor would John Doe know that the innocent and
naГЇve girl he is chatting with is a burly FBI agent just waiting in the wings to catch such a
