2. Project Idea
It’s hard for
students to
actually gain an
interest in other
cultures.
Globalization is just one
reason why students need
to learn about other
countries.
3. Recent natural disasters
and terrorist attacks have
created an interest for
students to learn about
what’s happening around
the world.
4. Students will create a class blog
displaying current events from
around the world.
Each student will choose
their subject of interest.
The blog will have different
categories such as fashion,
entertainment, politics, and
science.
This blog will be read by
students in other countries.

5. Entry Event
Students will video chat or
watch a recorded video of
classes in different countries.
One video will of students in
America.
Another
conversation will be
with students in
Korea.

7. Since students are 6th graders,
they will be able to read and
make opinions about the news
they hear and read.
These are
international 6th
grade students.
Most students are
not native speakers,
but they can all
benefit from
learning about other
cultures.
Students will learn about
other cultures.
They will also work
really hard with their
grammar and
language skills
because they know
other students will
read their website.

8. Why this project?
I chose this project
because the students
don’t know much
about other cultures.
They only know what
they see on TV, and
most of the time that
perception is slightly
wrong.
For example, most of my students think all American have blonde
hair and blue eyes. They are surprised when they see anything
different.
