Partnership
ETF was established in 2006 with the mission of raising funds for the childhood cancer patients at
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. ETF was a collaboration of the president's son, Eric Trump,
and his friends. It was reported that ETF had raised more than $30 million for St Jude as of 2016.

Partnership
ETF chose St. Jude as its sole beneficiary because ETF found out that St. Jude never denies
treatment to childhood cancer patients because of the family’s inability to pay for treatment.
Moreover, as a childhood cancer research institution, St. Jude freely shares its research and
studies to the global medical community.

St. Jude’s unceasing efforts to cure and save children date back to its inception in 1962. Back
then, the survival rate of children with cancer was as low as 20 percent. Groundbreaking research
and studies done by St. Jude oncologists and medical professionals over the years have help to
push the survival rate of children with cancer to 80 percent.

In December 2016, however, Eric Trump announced the dissolution of ETF when his father,
Donald Trump, won the presidential race, to avoid any potential conflict of interest. Consequently,
the dissolution brought to an end ETF’s fundraising efforts. Despite this development, Eric Trump
vowed to continue to act as an ambassador for St. Jude until the dream of actor Danny Thomas,
the founder of St. Jude, that “no child should die at the dawn of life” is fully realized.
