Subject: Best Practices from Startup Quest Tallahassee
Morning all,
Going over the media we received from Tallahassee's Session 10, I thought everyone would get a real pleasure
seeing how effective they were, and maybe pulling some best practices out of it. Breanna has been working as
communications director there for about 6 months, and you can see a real pick up there from her work. We got
the story picked up by the Tallahassee Democrat, ABC 27, and WCTV CBS.
More impressive was the social media work they did I thought. They had a "selfie" and "us-ie" contest where
the participants took selfies, tagged it as #SQTally, tagged their Career Center, and they picked winners for the
best of each with a small door prize. It was cute, the participants loved it, and it gained a lot of social media
buzz as a result.
I've CC'd Breanna, Kara, and Jim McShane, their Executive Director, on this. Breanna, do you mind talking
about the details of implementation of your media strategy and the structure of the social media with Moore
Communications before we have our social media workshop next week? I'd love to incorporate some of these
into that.
