3. Chinese moms and breastfeeding
Ø Breastfeeding is not a universal
approach to all babies. Moms will
consider various factors such as
their own health condition, return
to work, the wellbeing of the baby,
their emotional status and etc
before they choose the feeding
methods. Therefore, even if moms
know about the benefits of
breastfeeding, many of them still
choose to use or add formula.
Perception of breastfeeding
Ø New moms feel anxious while
breastfeeding because they are
worried about not providing enough
nutrients to their babies. Many moms
perceive that the formula is well-
balanced in nutrition. They would
consider the formula milk as a back-up
plan before giving birth and add stage 3
formula after baby reaching 1 y/o. Only
a few moms would keep breast feeding
until the natural weaning.
Ø The general public is less supportive to
create a better environment to
encourage mom to breastfeed. Breast-
feeding moms still encounter many
difficulties to breastfeed at work or in
public or receive support at home

Ø Hospital play a crucial role to
promote breastfeeding. From
pregnancy to giving birth, the hospitals
follow strict regulations to encourage
moms to breast feed, such as taking
compulsory class or no formula in
ward. However, outside the hospital,
moms rarely see the breast-feeding
communications.
4. Chinese coffee drinkers' weekly routine

Ø They mostly prefer to choose strong coffee
such as Americano or coffee latte in the
morning to have strong energy boost and stay
awake. Most of them will purchase the coffee
in the coffee shop or convenient store near
their office but not make the coffee at home
due to limited time
Ø Some consumers will have a second coffee in
the afternoon either in the office (make it in
the office or ask for a coffee delivery via APP)
or in the coffee shop. They will choose a less
strong coffee: coffee latte or flat white in such
occasions because they want to stay awake
but not hinder their sleep quality during the
night
Ø Stay awake and energy boost is the key needs
for consumers to consume coffee during
weekday
Ø Consumers drink specialty coffee in various
occasions during the weekend.
Ø When they are out of home, they prefer to
enjoy the coffee in the coffee shop ( specially
to explore coffee in niche or trendy coffee
shop) to immerse in the atmosphere to enjoy
the time by themselves or with friends.
Ø Some consumers also prefer to spend more
time and efforts to make specialty coffee at
home with their own invention. They try to
mix match different ingredients or different
flavors in their coffee to experience the fun of
making coffee process.
