Recipient of the Suave Performance Plus Award which entailed a gift of $5000.00
for me and an additional $5000.00 for the school, a crystal apple, recognition by the
Chicago City Council, Mayor Daley and President G.W. Bush. A panel of students
selected the awardees, one teacher from each of the six regions, on May 9, 2001.
Recipient of a Melon Grant which subsidized a course in the teaching of advanced
placement courses by teachers of minority students. Course taken in Advanced
Placement Calculus at Carleton College, Northfield, Minnesota. Summer of 1994.
Recipient of Hewlett-Packard grant of $7000 worth of equipment, primarily
graphing calculators for teachers of Advanced Placement Calculus. Participation in
training session, summer of 1993, with three additional seminars for two years.
