Employment growth accelerates in 2015
• In the first half of the year, employment growth continued its upward trend across the region. Non-farm
payrolls have added 51,400 jobs in 2015, more than in any other year since 2000. Leisure and
hospitality led the way accounting for 40.4 percent of the job growth. Construction and professional and
business services have added more than 10,000 jobs this year. Both numbers are unsurprising given
the recent improvement in office market and increase in construction permits.
