My name is Basil Rhymes. I am an Assistant Chief Engineer of the City of Chicago, Department
of Building and in char-ee of the Sewer Permit Section. The section is charged with several
tasks. Among them are addressing pre-conceptual revier,l'request from developers; conducting
impact analysis rvith/for twenty seven (27) utility companies - infrastructure agencies;
distributing sewer (and water) main and appurtenance information to home owners, engineers
and contractors: delegating work assignments to sew'er designers and examiners; coordinating
civil engineer projects; and generating sewer permits.
Mr. Binod Khadiwoda worked as an intern during the spring and summer in the section. and
assisted in the aforementioned assignments. He has not only successfully performed these job
responsibilities but also increased the professionalism and flexibility in the section. His
assignments were completed on/before time. allowing the staff and me the ability to coordinate
inner agency projects and code enforcement requirements. Furthermore. Mr. Binod Khadiwoda
maintained a positive attitude when assisting both the customers and the staff while completing
the goals of the Section and the Department. His abilities will help him to be successful in either
