The document discusses the debate around coeducation (mixed-gender education) in Pakistan. It outlines arguments from those in favor, such as it being a modern system that prepares students for social settings, and those against it, such as some believing it conflicts with Islamic principles. Both sides are presented, with counterarguments to the points made. Overall, the document does not take a clear stance and suggests coeducation may be acceptable at some education levels with appropriate restrictions.
4. Ans : It is a system of education in which
students of both sexes receive their
education in the same classrooms under
supervision of same teachers and study
same courses
5. For a long time back in history education
remained confined to men only
It was realized after a long time that
education of women is also important
Plato was the first man who preached the
education of women
Islam preached most effectively and firmly
on the education of both men and women
equally
6. As time changed civilizations became more
complex the methods of gaining education
also changed.
In ancient times, people had their education
within their families.
In ancient Rome education was extended to
males and females in separate schools
Holy Prophet ( SAW) himself imparted
education to both men and women but
seperately
7. In the late 19th and early 20th century,
coeducation became the principal of
education in Europe, USSR & USA
After world war 2, China, Japan & other
countries also adopted this method
Later on, this method flourished throughout
world
8. 1st Group 2nd group
This group of people
favour it on the
basis that it is
modern method &
perhaps is the need
of time.
These people are
against it on the
ground that it
conflicts the golden
principles of Islam.
The difference between these groups is like difference
between a gun and tree US poet ERZA POUND says:
“The difference between gun and a tree is a
difference of tempo. The tree explodes every spring ”
9. Poor Economy:-
For a developing country like
Pakistan, where economy is still fragile, our
resources are not substantial enough to stomach
separate educational institutions for boys and
girls.
10. Creates Competition:-
It creates competition among both and they make
enormous efforts to excel each other and they
exhibit uncanny learning skills.
11. Promotes character building:-
It makes uncouth boys
modest and cultured,
makes them respectful
toward girls
The girls develop
confidence and
become less shy,
weak and timid
Their mutual discourse
help them to appreciate
each other
12. If women have to participate in social setup,
why shall they not be prepared for that
earlier?
For this purpose educational institutions are
the best training centers
13. Islamic Point Of View:
Islam does not allows the free mixing of
males and females
Islam gives us the lesson of
PARDAH
14. Attractions of students toward the matters of
heart:
The students instead of
studying are attracted
toward each other and
involved in the matters of
heart
The get themselves involved
in dating and waste their
precious time
What will they do is this case ?
Study or
?
15. Ends honor and nobility of women:-
The conditions of western
society is in front of us where
the traditions of honor and
nobility does not exist anymore
The young boys and girls fall
prey to the passions of lust and
lechery and educational
institutions become show
houses of debauchery
In this way, Many girls in
European educational
institutions become
unmarried mothers
16. Both men and women have different caliber
Different roles & responsibilities in society
The natural faculties of both are entirely
different from each other
So how can be they taught same
syllabus under same conditions ?
So they need to be taught and trained
separately.
17. Up to primary level coeducation can be
justified
The age between 10 to 20 is a dangerous
period so at this level education should be
separate
18. At university level, education can be given
to both boys and girls by :
1. Making veil compulsory for girls
2. There should be separate portions for girls
& boys
3. Free mixing of both genders shall not be
allowed except under the supervision of
teachers
19. I Put Forward My Point Of View Now
Its Up To You To Decide What Is Wrong
And What Is Right .
