The Building Blocks of forming an Effective Team
Becoming a leader sounds tempting, doesn’t it? Building a team &
leading it to glory is definitely an uphill task.
Do you think you have what it takes to take up that managing role?
Following are the the building blocks for successfully forming and
managing a team:
Assemble
Gather the best possible personnel for the job. Hunt for
the different types of people you would require & get
them together. This is where the foundation of the team
lies.
Define purpose
After the team is formed, set a purpose for them. Let the team
members know their purpose and the team’s purpose as a whole. A
team with a common collective purpose is likely to produce a better
outcome.
Set Goals
Just as in Texas Hold’em poker, have definitive goals. Divide the
larger vision into smaller parts & alot the required employees for the
suited tasks. Have the entire team move individually towards a bigger,
common goal.
Build Standard of Conduct
Build a set of rules & time boundations for certain tasks. Make sure
the entire team is well versed with it & on the same page about it. The
team should strictly follow the code of conduct.
Observe
Keep a check on your team’s performance on the regular. Call regular
meetings & stay updated with the team’s progress. This enhances
competency in the team which is usually fruitful.
Celebrate
A team that eats together, succeeds together. Celebrate your success. It is good to be work-
oriented, but it is vital to know how to celebrate as well. A happy set of teammates will always
provide a better outcome.
The world is going through a tough time right now. The outbreak of the COVID-19 has brought
about huge changes in people’s lives. People are advised to practice social distancing. Even
professional online poker players have shifted to online gaming.
In times like these, it becomes necessary to have leaders who take brilliant managerial steps.
Being a leader is a responsibility. Building an efficient team & standing out in extreme times is what
distinguishes an average leader from the best. So go out there & aim for the best. Because that’s
what leaders do.
