Bharat Lall serves as president and CEO of Pinnacle Hotels USA, a collection of high-end hospitality venues. Outside of his leadership role at Pinnacle, Bharat Lall is active in his local community. He is a member of the San Diego Indian American Society and contributes to its Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Scholarship Fund.

2. INTRODUCTION
 Bharat Lall serves as president and CEO of Pinnacle Hotels USA, a collection of
high-end hospitality venues. Outside of his leadership role at Pinnacle, Bharat
Lall is active in his local community. He is a member of the San Diego Indian
American Society and contributes to its Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Scholarship
Fund.
The San Diego Indian American Society was established in 1984 to serve the
area's growing Indian American community. It supports positive relations
between the United States and India, operates projects that aid people in San
Diego and India, and recognizes local community members who contribute to
these causes. The San Diego Indian American Society also operates the
Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Scholarship to celebrate the life of Gandhi and help
local students further their educations.
The 2017 scholarships will recognize at least 10 area high school graduates with
an award of $40,000. Students are selected for their academic excellence,
community involvement, and financial need. Students submit an essay on the
topic of nonviolent means of conflict resolution, inspired by Gandhi's peaceful
legacy. Scholarships are open to any exceptional student, regardless of ethnic
background or nation of origin. Winners will be announced in the summer of
2017.
