2. What is it and what does it stand
for?
BARB stands for ‘Broadcaster’s Audience Research Board’.
BARB is the industry standard television audience
measurement service for broadcasters and the advertising
industry.
3. How would TV channels use their
information?
TV channels would look at the records and see
how many views a certain show got last time
it got shown and get advertising companies to
pay more to show their adverts by showing
them how many possible people may view
their ads before, during and after their show
has been on.
4. TV Shows/Crime Dramas
Death Comes To Pemberley (Crime Drama)
Midsomer Murders (TV Show)
Agatha Christie’s Marple (TV Show)
Abduction (Film)
5. The 3 highest viewed crime
dramas/dramas.
Death Comes To Pemberely- 7.81 million views
Agatha Christie’s Marple- 4.57 million views
Midsomer Murders- 4.45 million views
I think they probably tried to target these shows at
older audiences because they are crimes so some
younger audiences may not understand the plots and
storylines.
