Why Do People Plagiarize Their Work
In the article "Musicians Are Wired to Steal Each Other's Work," by Philip Ball from The Atlantic (Sept. 14,2016) discusses that over many years'
musicians and writers have been accused of plagiarizing their work. Singers such as Led Zepplin who was accused multiple times by Randy
California's trustee for "lifting the famous fingerpicked acoustic opening of "Stairway to Heaven'" in 1971 as well as back in 1962 when they were
accused of "borrowing" lyrics from Willie Dixon's "howlin' Wolf's "Killing Floor" for their song "The Lemon Song". Writer Dan Brown, who was also
accused of stealing ideas from Michael Baigent and Richard Leigh in "The Da Vinci Code" was then later on decided to be uncertain of any plagiarism.
Philip Ball also argues

Research Paper Plagiarism
The research paper is very valuable work in the academic world of the Unites States, which helps students to knowledge and educate themselves and
their readers. In addition, there are a lot of skills that are significant for students to learn in order to write a successful research paper. I am glad that I
took (GLS–470) course because it prepares me as a graduate student to learn and develop my skills as researcher and writer. In this class, I learn
many skills that would definitely help me in my graduate academic future. For examples, I learn how to choose an appropriate topic by asking,
answering and developing the research question. Also, I learn that the thesis statement has three parts which are a topic, focus and supporting points.
Plagiarism is a serious problem that students may be faced, which means use others people worlds under the writer's name or without mention the
original sources. This an issue is considered as an academic crime. Students can have this problem when they do not use paraphrasing, summarizing or
quoting skills. Indeed, paraphrasing, summarizing and quoting and how students applying them in the paper are the most significant skills that I learn
which will assist me to avoid plagiarism....show more content...
In addition, Paraphrasing is an important skill that students should master. This means students have the ability to read and understand the text then
rewrite it in their own words. Paraphrasing usually has the same length of the original writing. Moreover, it is not enough to change a few words in the
text to use it, but also the grammar and sentences structures must change. Before students start writing, they should read the full text to understand
ideas fully and to know the tense of the writing. All that will help students to have a good paraphrase be avoiding writing off the topic or copying too

Plagiarism : An Ethical Issue
"According to the Merriam–Webster online dictionary, to "plagiarize" means to steal and pass of (the ideas or words of another as one's own..."
("What Is Plagiarism?). When one plagiarizes, they use someone else's work and present it as their own ("What Is Plagiarism?"). It's a very serious
offense and plagiarizing can result in serious academic offenses. Plagiarizing is easy to prevent if you familiarize yourself with how to cite properly.
Plagiarizing is a very ethical issue for the fact that your copying someone's work and not giving them the credit for it. According to Krishnamoorthy,

According to plagioarism.org, "...plagiarism is an act of fraud. It involves both stealing someone else's work and lying about it afterward" ("What Is
Plagiarism"). The website also gives a definition from the Merriam–Webster Online dictionary, which states that plagiarism means "to steal and pass off
(the ideas or words of another as one's own, to use (another's production) without crediting the source, to commit literary theft, [and] to present as
new and original an idea or product derived from an existing source" ("What Is Plagiarism?"). Stealing words and ideas is plagiarism and are protected
by copyright laws as long as they are recorded in some way ("What Is Plagiarism?"). The following examples presented by the website are considered
plagiarism:
Turning in someone else's work as your own, copying words or ideas from someone else without giving credit, failing to put a quotation in quotation
marks, giving incorrect information about the source of a quotation, changing words but copying the sentence structure of a source without giving
credit, copying so many words or ideas from a source that it makes up the majority of your work, whether you give credit or not... ("What Is

Should College Students Plagiarize?
There are possible tons of reasons out there as to why college students plagiarize and other reasons that we as student's can avoid academic
dishonesty. It is so easy to cheat then it is to take the time out of our "busy" schedules to form a thought and actually write an essay. Today with the
technology we have available in our hands, it makes it even easier to plagiarize someone else's work on the internet or off of someone else's paper.
There are tons of ways to plagiarize but a few keep reoccurring more often than others. But in the long run, plagiarizing could lead to bad grades and
could lead to worse depending on the school or facility you are at. First reason students plagiarize is just the simple fact that it is easy to do.
Instead of taking your time, forming your own thoughts, and siting down to put those thoughts and opinions into their paper, students find it easy
to just copy down someone else's information. In a survey conducted "about 40% of 14,000 undergraduates admitted to copying a few sentences in
written assignments" (The New York Times). In 8th grade when I would first get into my English class me and my friend would swap our notes
and papers and copy each other to get more information then we already had. It was that simple. But the technology we have today makes it a few
more steps easier than a few years ago to plagiarize. Now we have technology to help us. All kids have to do is copy and paste, make the sentences
sound good together

Plagiarism : What Is Plagiarism?
What is Plagiarism? Plagiarism is using someone else's work, words, production, researches and ideas without the approval or the acknowledgment of
the writer or producer, and claiming the credit for himself. Many reasons and factors are attributed for the use of plagiarism and could be cultural,
historical, linguistic, environmental and educational background. Plagiarism is a form of an academic dishonesty, academic misconduct, and a digital
cheating. It is declared to be an unacceptable legal act and institutional regulations. And universities, schools, and instructors do not only need to
decrease plagiarism, but they must also affect positively on students writings, increase the understanding of how to use digital technology to facilitate
their academic writing. Where plagiarism can be included? In written assignment and project: when students take other people words and researches,
and claimed them as their own. There are three types of common plagiarism in written assignment: o Copying words and ideas from published sources:
Students copy information without the acknowledgment of the source; summarizing or paraphrasing of the text without the acknowledgment of the
source. To acknowledge the source, student must reference or cite to it. o Copying from other students: claim and pretend that other students work as
their work o Working too closely with other students: final result of the work turn out to be identical or near identical. The students will share the same

Academic Plagiarism Paper
The news article I found regarding academic plagiarism was published in the New York Post, April 2, 2015 by Michael Blaustein. The article was
titled "Academic paper on plagiarism pulled because of plagiarism." According to Michael Blaustein's article, the Indian Journal of Dermatology who
published the paper discovered that the doctor who wrote the paper on plagiarism had in fact copied another doctor's work.
This clearly violates APUS' Academic Dishonesty and Plagiarism policy, because the doctor clearly copied another person's work and used it for his
own without giving and credit to the actual author. As a consequence for this doctor, his article was retracted, and his reputation severely damaged.
The consequence for being dishonest

Plagiarized By C. Hugh Holman
Many only know a very vague definition of plagiarism, which is intentionally copying a source word for word. What many do not know is that
plagiarism can be unintentional as well. When I referred to your work as plagiarized, I did not mean that you purposely copied the definition of Middle
English given by C. Hugh Holman, you might have unintentionally done it. It is one thing to include a word used by an author without understanding
what it means or to paraphrase inadequately so that a paragraph sounds too much like the original. It is another to insert whole chunks of an author's
work into an essay without quotation marks. Your paragraph is too similar to the original, when you paraphrase you should change the words and the
sentence structure

Plagiarized Research Paper
Plagiarizing U.S. Senator Journal Response In an article later updated, it is reported that a little girl wrote a paper for her 6th grade science class
about her findings about IndoPacific lionfish. She undoubtedly plagiarized the whole paper telling everyone she found the species and made the
discovery but if you go farther back in science papers and findings you will see that in 2011 Zac Jud had reported these findings and instantly was
given credit. Zac did not want to speak up because he knew that instantly people would think he was trying to take the findings from this little girl.
Later it was seen that a Senator had plagiarized a paper and excuses were being made for his actions. "She's such a good girl, She's never done this.

Research Paper On Plagiarism
Introduction: Plagiarism is common phenomenon of academic cheating among students.
In recent years, plagiarism has been repeated. Plagiarism is becoming more and more serious. Whether in life or in school. The students, the
teachers, and the creators have had a great deal of trouble. The British Internet papers trading volume of more than 200 million pounds. Students can
spend 150 or more on "customized" papers, such as "guaranteed," "good reviews", "novel, unique, original, reliable" and so on. So British
institutions would have to check the students' papers and books, materials or other paper anti plagiarism software, once reached more than a

Long Term Consequences Of Plagiarism In College
In writing, the writer must avoid plagiarism or else the writer will have to face the consequences. It doesn't matter if it was intentional or not,
plagiarism is plagiarism. There is no other way to put it.
Plagiarism is described as taking someone else's work, quote or idea and use them as your own without the original author's permission, or without
giving credit to the author. Actions that are instantly identified as plagiarism includes copying a published material, using quotes from authors without
quotation marks and not using citations in your paper. On a school campus, the use of plagiarism can have dire consequences, including being expelled.
School campuses do not tolerate plagiarism, so it is absolutely important that the writer

Plagiarized Writing
According to the Merriam–Webster online dictionary, the definition of plagiarize is to steal or pass off the words or ideas of someone as your own.
Throughout college and high school, a paper will have to be written weather it is a book report, essay, or even a research paper. It could get difficult
to do this on top of your other school work. The reasons to why students plagiarize their papers are because they do not have enough time to write the
paper, they must get a good grade on the paper, and they do not understand it. What people do not realize is that if they get caught plagiarizing it could
be very serious consequences that could hurt your reputation. MLA is Modern Language Association, it is the most common style of documentation for
high school and undergrad. MLA format emphases citations on books, magazines, journals, things with audio, and anthologies. APA is American
Psychological Association, APA format has direct quotations, in text citations, and footnotes and endnotes. It is also allowing the author to use verbs in
the past tense. The use of these two formats allows your paper not to be plagiarized.
It is very easy for people to get online to buy a paper, or just as easily get someone to write their papers for them. "42 percent said they purchased
custom term papers, essays and thesis online. 28 percent said they had a service take their online classes for them" (Farkas). There are many
websites where you can purchase a paper, for example writersperhour.com is one of them. All it takes is a simple search on Google to find out where to
buy a paper from. The cost of a paper is based on when it is due, how long it must be, the level of education from high school to doctoral, and what type
of paper it is. "Customers can buy an original paper written on a specific topic for anywhere between $20 and $45 a page, depending on how quickly
they need it. So, for example, a five–page custom paper, written and delivered that day, adds up to $225" (Hansen). In college a student can take at least
four to six classes depending on their major or how many credits they have. Some students play sports, work, or are in some type of activity which
gives them more of a reason to feel the need to plagiarize.

Plagiarism Is Bad
Plagiarism is when someone takes words or ideas from someone or something and uses them as their own without giving credit. Someone's
original ideas are intellectual property and are protected by copyright laws in the USA. Plagiarism is not just copying words or sentences, you can
also plagiarize music. For example, if you were to do a cover to a copyrighted song that would be plagiarism. Also copying pictures from the
internet, even Google, can count as plagiarism if you do not cite or give credit to the original author properly. This is wrong because it is a form of
theft. Plagiarism is just like someone taking steroids. You took the steroids but it was not really you playing the sport, it was the enhancements. Lastly,
if you go through

Plagiarism And The Ethics Of Plagiarism
Many scholars and parents have heard the term "plagiarism" while talking about writing essays, poems, and other works. Plagiarism is defined as "to
steal and pass off (the ideas or words of another) as one 's own" by Merriam–Webster dictionary. While plagiarism may be denoted as stealing one's
work without credit, a more vast and broad definition usually applies to college level work. Every college and university has their own handbook and
code of conduct on what exactly "plagiarism" is defined as, and what are the consequences for breaking these rules. Collin College's "Scholastic
Dishonesty", Boston University's "Academic Conduct Code", and Yale College's "What is Plagiarism?" all have different perspectives as to what
"plagiarism" is and how it is defined.
Collin College's "Scholastic Dishonesty" is set up in six sections, four having bolded first words, showing what each paragraph is about. The
wording in the sections are very formal; making it seem as though to steal someone's work to be childish or immature. The tone, set by the wording
and overall flow of the sentences, is very serious; it makes it seem as though committing one of these crimes is as bad and just as serious as
committing murder. The list of scholastic dishonesties, general scholastic dishonesty, plagiarism, cheating, and collusion, is very open ended. Collin
College even goes as far as saying "while specific examples are listed below, this is not an exhaustive list and scholastic dishonesty may

Google Plagiarism Test Paper
Understanding the results:
Phrases or sentences shown in red already exist online and will not pass Google plagiarism tests.
They are also links ... feel free to click on any red lines and see the original source for your records. When the test is done, you'll also be given an exact
percentage that tells you how original or unique your article is.
Duplicated content results in a lower page rank. If you publish an article or web page content that is not entirely unique and original, there is a
significantly higher risk of being blacklisted by Google and other search engines. So, if your goal is to have a higher page rank– and search engine
results placement (SERP) – then it's simply not worth the risk of publishing heavily duplicated content.

Plagiarism And Academic Integrity Research Paper
Plagiarism and Academic Integrity The term plagiarism is defined as "an act of using or closely imitating the language and thoughts of another author
without authorization and the representation of that author's work as one's own" (Dictionary.com). The phrase academic integrity, on Penn State's
Teaching & Learning with Technology website, is defined as responsibly and honestly engaging in scholarly activity. Finally, the term collusion means
a "secret cooperation for an illegal or dishonest purpose" (Merriam–webster.com). An example ofplagiarism is copying parts of an already published
essay into one's own essay, even if most of the essay is one's own. Also, taking parts of a published essay and changing a few words around or adding

Plagiarized Work Research Paper
A plagiarized brief or motion is unfair to the client, opposing attorney, and person whose work was plagiarized. The client paid for a service that
they feel would help them. A plagiarized work shows that the attorney was not prepared or suitable to provide service of quality. It is unfair to the
opposing attorney and party because it gives him an unfair advantage by using a well established piece. By producing their own honest work, they
both are at an even playing field. Finally, the person whose pieces was plagiarized does not receive any credit for their hard work. Others may be
getting recognition for it, which also creates an unfair advantage for the person who stole the work if they aren't caught. I felt that Peter Cannon's

Even at a time where he is being recognized for his great work, Albert Camus explains his feelings on issues bigger than him and their impact on his
life. In his speech, he recounted "And with what feelings could he accept this honour at a time when other writers in Europe, among them the very
greatest, are condemned to silence, and even at a time when the country of his birth is going through unending misery?" He is very unselfish in
understanding that, through his art, he has a voice on the problems of society or mistreatment of others. However, it is important to maintain honesty
in respect to those who support him because there can only be progress by working together. Camus explains, "Because his task is to unite the greatest
possible number of people, his art must not compromise with lies and servitude which, wherever they rule, breed solitude." While Camus may be
known only as a great writer, he wants others to know the importance of real life issues and coming together to address them. Richard Feynman also
understands these values by explaining, "And so, you Swedish people, with your honors, and your trumpets, and your king – forgive me. For I
understand at last – such things provide entrance to the heart. Used by a wise and peaceful people they can generate good feeling, even love, among
men, even in

  • 1. Why Do People Plagiarize Their Work In the article "Musicians Are Wired to Steal Each Other's Work," by Philip Ball from The Atlantic (Sept. 14,2016) discusses that over many years' musicians and writers have been accused of plagiarizing their work. Singers such as Led Zepplin who was accused multiple times by Randy California's trustee for "lifting the famous fingerpicked acoustic opening of "Stairway to Heaven'" in 1971 as well as back in 1962 when they were accused of "borrowing" lyrics from Willie Dixon's "howlin' Wolf's "Killing Floor" for their song "The Lemon Song". Writer Dan Brown, who was also accused of stealing ideas from Michael Baigent and Richard Leigh in "The Da Vinci Code" was then later on decided to be uncertain of any plagiarism. Also, I learn that the thesis statement has three parts which are a topic, focus and supporting points. Paraphrasing usually has the same length of the original writing. Moreover, it is not enough to change a few words in the text to use it, but also the grammar and sentences structures must change. Before students start writing, they should read the full text to understand ideas fully and to know the tense of the writing. • 5. Should College Students Plagiarize? There are possible tons of reasons out there as to why college students plagiarize and other reasons that we as student's can avoid academic dishonesty. It is so easy to cheat then it is to take the time out of our "busy" schedules to form a thought and actually write an essay. Today with the technology we have available in our hands, it makes it even easier to plagiarize someone else's work on the internet or off of someone else's paper. There are tons of ways to plagiarize but a few keep reoccurring more often than others. But in the long run, plagiarizing could lead to bad grades and could lead to worse depending on the school or facility you are at. First reason students plagiarize is just the simple fact that it is easy to do. Instead of taking your time, forming your own thoughts, and siting down to put those thoughts and opinions into their paper, students find it easy to just copy down someone else's information. In a survey conducted "about 40% of 14,000 undergraduates admitted to copying a few sentences in written assignments" (The New York Times). In 8th grade when I would first get into my English class me and my friend would swap our notes and papers and copy each other to get more information then we already had. It was that simple. But the technology we have today makes it a few more steps easier than a few years ago to plagiarize. Now we have technology to help us. All kids have to do is copy and paste, make the sentences sound good together Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Plagiarism : What Is Plagiarism? What is Plagiarism? Plagiarism is using someone else's work, words, production, researches and ideas without the approval or the acknowledgment of the writer or producer, and claiming the credit for himself. Many reasons and factors are attributed for the use of plagiarism and could be cultural, historical, linguistic, environmental and educational background. Plagiarism is a form of an academic dishonesty, academic misconduct, and a digital cheating. It is declared to be an unacceptable legal act and institutional regulations. And universities, schools, and instructors do not only need to decrease plagiarism, but they must also affect positively on students writings, increase the understanding of how to use digital technology to facilitate their academic writing. Where plagiarism can be included? In written assignment and project: when students take other people words and researches, and claimed them as their own. There are three types of common plagiarism in written assignment: o Copying words and ideas from published sources: Students copy information without the acknowledgment of the source; summarizing or paraphrasing of the text without the acknowledgment of the source. To acknowledge the source, student must reference or cite to it. o Copying from other students: claim and pretend that other students work as their work o Working too closely with other students: final result of the work turn out to be identical or near identical. • 8. Academic Plagiarism Paper The news article I found regarding academic plagiarism was published in the New York Post, April 2, 2015 by Michael Blaustein. The article was titled "Academic paper on plagiarism pulled because of plagiarism." According to Michael Blaustein's article, the Indian Journal of Dermatology who published the paper discovered that the doctor who wrote the paper on plagiarism had in fact copied another doctor's work. This clearly violates APUS' Academic Dishonesty and Plagiarism policy, because the doctor clearly copied another person's work and used it for his own without giving and credit to the actual author. As a consequence for this doctor, his article was retracted, and his reputation severely damaged. The consequence for being dishonest Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Plagiarized By C. Hugh Holman Many only know a very vague definition of plagiarism, which is intentionally copying a source word for word. What many do not know is that plagiarism can be unintentional as well. When I referred to your work as plagiarized, I did not mean that you purposely copied the definition of Middle English given by C. Hugh Holman, you might have unintentionally done it. It is one thing to include a word used by an author without understanding what it means or to paraphrase inadequately so that a paragraph sounds too much like the original. It is another to insert whole chunks of an author's work into an essay without quotation marks. Your paragraph is too similar to the original, when you paraphrase you should change the words and the sentence structure Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Plagiarized Research Paper Plagiarizing U.S. Senator Journal Response In an article later updated, it is reported that a little girl wrote a paper for her 6th grade science class about her findings about IndoPacific lionfish. She undoubtedly plagiarized the whole paper telling everyone she found the species and made the discovery but if you go farther back in science papers and findings you will see that in 2011 Zac Jud had reported these findings and instantly was given credit. Zac did not want to speak up because he knew that instantly people would think he was trying to take the findings from this little girl. Later it was seen that a Senator had plagiarized a paper and excuses were being made for his actions. "She's such a good girl, She's never done this. Can't Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 13. Plagiarized Writing According to the Merriam–Webster online dictionary, the definition of plagiarize is to steal or pass off the words or ideas of someone as your own. Throughout college and high school, a paper will have to be written weather it is a book report, essay, or even a research paper. It could get difficult to do this on top of your other school work. The reasons to why students plagiarize their papers are because they do not have enough time to write the paper, they must get a good grade on the paper, and they do not understand it. What people do not realize is that if they get caught plagiarizing it could be very serious consequences that could hurt your reputation. MLA is Modern Language Association, it is the most common style of documentation for high school and undergrad. MLA format emphases citations on books, magazines, journals, things with audio, and anthologies. APA is American Psychological Association, APA format has direct quotations, in text citations, and footnotes and endnotes. It is also allowing the author to use verbs in the past tense. The use of these two formats allows your paper not to be plagiarized. It is very easy for people to get online to buy a paper, or just as easily get someone to write their papers for them. "42 percent said they purchased custom term papers, essays and thesis online. 28 percent said they had a service take their online classes for them" (Farkas). There are many websites where you can purchase a paper, for example writersperhour.com is one of them. All it takes is a simple search on Google to find out where to buy a paper from. The cost of a paper is based on when it is due, how long it must be, the level of education from high school to doctoral, and what type of paper it is. "Customers can buy an original paper written on a specific topic for anywhere between $20 and $45 a page, depending on how quickly they need it. So, for example, a five–page custom paper, written and delivered that day, adds up to $225" (Hansen). In college a student can take at least four to six classes depending on their major or how many credits they have. Some students play sports, work, or are in some type of activity which gives them more of a reason to feel the need to plagiarize. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. Plagiarism Is Bad Plagiarism is when someone takes words or ideas from someone or something and uses them as their own without giving credit. Someone's original ideas are intellectual property and are protected by copyright laws in the USA. Plagiarism is not just copying words or sentences, you can also plagiarize music. For example, if you were to do a cover to a copyrighted song that would be plagiarism. Also copying pictures from the internet, even Google, can count as plagiarism if you do not cite or give credit to the original author properly. This is wrong because it is a form of theft. Plagiarism is just like someone taking steroids. You took the steroids but it was not really you playing the sport, it was the enhancements. • 15. Plagiarism And The Ethics Of Plagiarism Many scholars and parents have heard the term "plagiarism" while talking about writing essays, poems, and other works. Plagiarism is defined as "to steal and pass off (the ideas or words of another) as one 's own" by Merriam–Webster dictionary. While plagiarism may be denoted as stealing one's work without credit, a more vast and broad definition usually applies to college level work. Every college and university has their own handbook and code of conduct on what exactly "plagiarism" is defined as, and what are the consequences for breaking these rules. Collin College's "Scholastic Dishonesty", Boston University's "Academic Conduct Code", and Yale College's "What is Plagiarism?" all have different perspectives as to what "plagiarism" is and how it is defined. Collin College's "Scholastic Dishonesty" is set up in six sections, four having bolded first words, showing what each paragraph is about. The wording in the sections are very formal; making it seem as though to steal someone's work to be childish or immature. The tone, set by the wording and overall flow of the sentences, is very serious; it makes it seem as though committing one of these crimes is as bad and just as serious as committing murder. The list of scholastic dishonesties, general scholastic dishonesty, plagiarism, cheating, and collusion, is very open ended. Collin College even goes as far as saying "while specific examples are listed below, this is not an exhaustive list and scholastic dishonesty may Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 16. Google Plagiarism Test Paper Understanding the results: Phrases or sentences shown in red already exist online and will not pass Google plagiarism tests. They are also links ... feel free to click on any red lines and see the original source for your records. When the test is done, you'll also be given an exact percentage that tells you how original or unique your article is. Duplicated content results in a lower page rank. If you publish an article or web page content that is not entirely unique and original, there is a significantly higher risk of being blacklisted by Google and other search engines. So, if your goal is to have a higher page rank– and search engine results placement (SERP) – then it's simply not worth the risk of publishing heavily duplicated content. • 17. Plagiarism And Academic Integrity Research Paper Plagiarism and Academic Integrity The term plagiarism is defined as "an act of using or closely imitating the language and thoughts of another author without authorization and the representation of that author's work as one's own" (Dictionary.com). The phrase academic integrity, on Penn State's Teaching & Learning with Technology website, is defined as responsibly and honestly engaging in scholarly activity. Finally, the term collusion means a "secret cooperation for an illegal or dishonest purpose" (Merriam–webster.com). • 18. Plagiarized Work Research Paper A plagiarized brief or motion is unfair to the client, opposing attorney, and person whose work was plagiarized. The client paid for a service that they feel would help them. A plagiarized work shows that the attorney was not prepared or suitable to provide service of quality. It is unfair to the opposing attorney and party because it gives him an unfair advantage by using a well established piece. By producing their own honest work, they both are at an even playing field. Finally, the person whose pieces was plagiarized does not receive any credit for their hard work. Others may be getting recognition for it, which also creates an unfair advantage for the person who stole the work if they aren't caught. I felt that Peter Cannon's punishment...show more content... Even at a time where he is being recognized for his great work, Albert Camus explains his feelings on issues bigger than him and their impact on his life. In his speech, he recounted "And with what feelings could he accept this honour at a time when other writers in Europe, among them the very greatest, are condemned to silence, and even at a time when the country of his birth is going through unending misery?" He is very unselfish in understanding that, through his art, he has a voice on the problems of society or mistreatment of others. However, it is important to maintain honesty in respect to those who support him because there can only be progress by working together. Camus explains, "Because his task is to unite the greatest possible number of people, his art must not compromise with lies and servitude which, wherever they rule, breed solitude." While Camus may be known only as a great writer, he wants others to know the importance of real life issues and coming together to address them. Richard Feynman also understands these values by explaining, "And so, you Swedish people, with your honors, and your trumpets, and your king – forgive me.
