Experience
I have obtained a wide range of experience through working in various facilities and hospital as a
Pharmaceutical Technologist.
Partners for Health and Development in African-SWOP Kenya (August 2011 update).In this
organization I undertake the following duties and responsibilities to ensure proper functioning of
the pharmacy department
Dispensing of ARVs to both adult and pediatric and updating in Art Dispensing Tool
(ADT) and IQ care.
Participating in PreP research study being undertaken in the organization jointly with
Lvct Health
Preparing monthly ARV consumption report and requisition and submitting to KEMSA
through Logistic Management Information System(LMIS)
Managing main pharmacy store and liaising with other pharmacy staffs to ensure each
satellite clinic is well stocked with medicines and other pharmaceutical commodities
Ensuring of proper and accurate monthly stock taking of medicines and making sure
the pharmacy is neither over stocked nor under stocked.
Liaising with procurement manager to ensure drugs and other pharmaceutical
commodities are procured in time.
Ensuring drugs are stored according to specified manufacturer conditions and keeping
the temperature log chart updated every day
Participate in internal quarterly Site Improvement Monitoring System (SIMS)
especially for the pharmacy section.
Liaising with sub-county pharmacist in ensuring the pharmacy is equipped with MOH
tools and materials
Offering adherence counselling to newly initiated patients on HAART and to the
continuing patient on any medicine prescribed by the doctor
Ensuring all pharmacy records are kept and stored in a safe and locked place
Provide health information to patients and staff during health talks in the morning or
any desirable time to the patients.
2. Training members of staff and community health workers on matters relating to
medicines and management.
Development and reviewing of Standard Operating Procedures(SOPs) for Main
pharmacy store and satellite pharmacy
Baraka Medical Centre (Aids Relief Project) (January 2011 to August 2011)
Duties and Responsibilities
Dispensing of ARVs to both adult and pediatric using ART Dispensing Tool (ADT)
Dispensing of antibiotics drugs, over the counter medicine and OI (opportunistic infection)
drugs to HIV clients.
A member of Drug Therapeutic Committee(DTC) which formulate drug policy and ensure
rationale of drugs use in the Health Centre
Participate in monthly stock taking of drugs and ensure the pharmacy is neither over
stocked nor under stocked.
Assisting the head of pharmacy in writing of drug consumption report every month to
procure drugs from Kenya Pharma.
To give adherence counseling and advice to clients on ARVs and other medication
