"Heaven or Las Vegas" is a TV show idea that I and two others wrote. The treatment cover the entire season plot arc, major characters, locations, pilot episode, and demographics.

destructive rapper.

Synopsis
A young and naive angel, named Zoe, is sent from Heaven to Las Vegas and
instructed to save the soul of wildly popular and notoriously delusional rapper, “Ch
Rist aka Imperial Bling” who has convinced himself and some of his millions of
followers that he is the second coming of Christ. However, living on Earth and
gaining his trust is tricker than she expected. Zoe befriends colorful characters who
help her out along the way and show her the ins and outs of living in the city of sin
whilst trying to do a seemingly impossible task.
Marketing Information
The show is a serial and follows Zoe’s continuous story centered around her mission
to save Ch Rist aka Imperial Bling’s soul. It is primarily a comedy however will have
some touchy and dramatic moments that show a more serious and complex side to
each character as the story progresses, making it fall into the dramedy label. The
show’s mockumentary style will be used to show characters’ unfiltered thoughts,
such as God’s frustration with Zoe.
Demographics
The people who would most likely watch the show are between the ages of 18-49. It
will appeal to all races and mainly women and gay men.
Comparative Programming
1. The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt - Heaven or Las Vegas has strong female
characters (http://herstoryarc.com/2015/03/07/unbreakable-kimmy-
females-are-strong-as-hell/ ) who are a little naive and new to the world,
similar to Kimmy Schmidt. She also is guided by a friendly yet sassy street
smart friend who gets her on her feet.
2. The Office/Parks and Rec - Our show is similar to a comedy mockumentary
style show like Parks and Rec or The Office. This element will allow the
audience to understand the thoughts, motives, and personalities of the
characters more clearly. These classic comedies have shown to succeed and
outlast others (Parks and Rec always managed to trump whatever NBC put in
front of it and The Office made it to 200 episodes-

3. Jane the Virgin - Jane the Virgin also focuses on religion throughout the show.
They use religion in a comical way, without being too sacrilegious. Though it
has a religious, it attracts viewers from a wide set of demographics

will Heaven or Las Vegas.
While Heaven or Las Vegas combines tropes of classic workplace comedies, such
as Parks and Rec and The Office, along with the fish out of water elements (as in The
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt), it is unique in that it adds the previously untouched
element of divinely intervention to create a story world like no other. The mystery
of heaven is shown in a comical manner unlike anything on television at the
moment. There is an interesting and challenging balance of the fanaticism of its
fictional narrative and the believability of a reality show. And although religion is an
important part of the world of Jane the Virgin, its structure is not in the style of
mockumentary as in Heaven or Las Vegas. Also, Heaven or Las Vegas will feature
characters of many different cultures while Jane the Virgin focuses mainly on
Hispanic culture.
Major Locations
• Las Vegas
• Old wedding chapel - This is a run down old wedding chapel that she lives in
with Nutmeg. She decorates it with bright colors and tacky decorations. It’s a
little dreary on the outside but Meg seems to make it homey inside. It has a
lot of random furniture in it that doesn’t seem to match. A lot of the old tacky
wedding decorations are still in the chapel. The walls are a bright pink color
with tacky pictures of christ on the wall and sparkly cheap lights and silver
tinsel.
• Family’s mansion - The set would include the kitchen, living room, and the
room where she is a psychic for the rapper. The mansion on the outside is
very large and elegant. The inside is over the top, polished and obnoxiously
expensive looking. Ch Rist aka Imperial Bling’s has claimed a section of the
house for himself, decorating it with even more ostentatious furniture and
wall decor. There are many God-like depictions of himself as figurines and in
portraits. To get to his section of the house, you must go up an elevator,
whose shaft walls depict a ascension to heaven as you arrive on his floor.
• Artist Studio/ Office - This looks just like how a recording studio looks. The
rapper has set it up to be kind of over the top however with huge pictures of
him framed all over the place and red velvet covering the walls. There is also
a large throne that he sits upon as he writes lyrics.
• Diner - This is a tacky 80’s themed diner with black and white checkered
floors and tacky decorations on the wall. It’s not the cleanest place but it’s a
comforting place as she gets to know the regulars.
Major Characters
• Zophiel, (Zoe for short): She is an angel who has been sent down to Las
Vegas from Heaven as a write of passage. She has been assigned a family to

take care of and along the way she must prove herself worthy of receiving
her angel wings and returning to Heaven to be with her family again. She is
excited to take on this part of her life. She is naive, innocent, kind, always
happy, and always wants to try her best even though she mess up a lot of the
time. She is always looking to help others no matter who they are or what
they have done. She tends to get excited about everything even the most
simplest things. She must face challenges along the way and faces them
without fear or worry. Since she is unfamiliar with what is normal on earth,
her wardrobe is young for her age and contains mismatched items. Her
character is white, and around 18 years old.
• Nutmeg (Meg for short): Meg is a drag queen who has just been fired from
her job as a dancer at a club. She has been living on her own for awhile in Las
Vegas trying to make it big but hasn’t yet found her big break. Her ultimate
dream is to own her own burlesque club. She is very flamboyant, outgoing,
and ambitious. She becomes a loyal friend to Zoe along the way and has to
help her out a lot in each episode. She always has a new crazy hairdo and
new girly and colorful outfit on. Her character is hispanic and around 30
years old.
• Luke: He secretly is a demon sent by the devil to mess things up on earth. He
has been on earth for awhile and is a young professional working in the
music industry. He is sneaky and has a manipulative way about him.
Although at first he seems sinister and unkind, you soon discover that he has
a kind and caring side to him. He secretly wishes to be good but it is
sometimes difficult for him. His hair is a strawberry blonde and he is tall and
slender. He is about 20 years old.
• God: Never shown on camera. He has a booming voice and is often tired
sounding. He sighs a lot out of frustration when talking to Zoe. He tries to
help her with her mission but often lets her figure it out for herself.
• Ch Rist aka Imperial Bling: He is Kanye West type personality who has a
horrible attitude, thinks he’s a god, and constantly believes that he is the
second coming of Christ. He rarely listens to anyone and walks around
thinking he is better than everyone else. He is always working and singing
and humming his new songs. The way he dresses is how most rappers dress
but even more over the top, showing off how much money he makes. He is
extremely selfish and self absorbed. He is currently working on track JE$U$
“Don’t Cro$$ Me” CHRI$T. His character is black and around the age of 30

• Adolfo: He is an angel who is sent to earth as punishment to look after young
angels who are there as their write of passage. He is punished because of his
bad deeds up in heaven. He is always in a horrible mood and criticizes
everyone. He has a boston accent and never has a good word to say about
anyone. He is overweight, short, and balding. His hair is dark and he always
has an unshaved face and food on his clothes. He is around 50 years old and
his of Italian descent.
Social Structures
Zoe, new to Earth completely, meets Nutmeg. Meg, a hispanic drag queen
with nowhere to go, latches onto Zoe. Together they set up their new home in the
wedding chapel. Meg and Zoe become roommates and friends even though Meg does
not even know Zoe’s true identity. Meg helps Zoe become familiar with what she
needs to know about the city of Las Vegas and living on Earth in general. Meg tries
to find a job and eventually gets hired at a diner where the gang eventually
frequents. Meg’s ultimate dream is to own a club of her own so she can be her own
boss and make it big. She shares this dream with Zoe.
Zoe finds out about her mission from God to help bring the rapper, Ch Rist
aka Imperial Bling, back in touch with reality and save his soul before he is too far
gone. She pretends to be a psychic for the rapper in order to get close with him and
his family without revealing her origins. This works because of her quirky behavior
and she soon becomes the rapper’s personal psychic. There she meets Luke, his
long time assistant. Luke lives at the rapper’s mansion.
God steps in sporadically and often whenever Zoe is struggling. When he
speaks to her, no one else can hear him. The grouchy angel, Adolfo, shows up at
random moments to criticize her and put her down. He has been sent to earth as
punishment for his bad behavior up in heaven. His job is to prevent Zoe from
screwing things up because she is a new angel and still needs guidance. He is not
happy with God for this punishment and takes it out on Zoe. He takes human form,
unlike God, and therefore is seen by the people around Zoe. Since Meg is with Zoe a
lot of the time, Meg sees Adolfo a lot and does not trust him. Adolfo and Meg do not
get along a lot of the time.
Season Plot Arc
Over the course of the show, Zoe’s main concern will be saving the soul Ch
Rist aka Imperial Bling. She gets closer with Imperial Bling and his family as she
continues to be his psychic. At the beginning her ultimate goal is to get in with the
family in order to do her job. As the season progresses, Zoe tries to prevent Ch Rist
aka Imperial Bling from doing ridiculous schemes that may lead to his destruction.
Zoe also slowly starts to fall for Ch Rist aka Imperial Bling’s long time
assistant Luke, however he has no idea that she isn’t a psychic. Zoe keeps up the act
while slowly starting a courtship with Luke. Zoe is conflicted because she doesn’t
want to lie to him but she cannot tell him who she really is and blow her cover.
Zoe has to keep up her act while trying to reason with Ch Rist aka Imperial
Bling. She tells him if he keeps up his ways, there will be darkness in his future.
However he doesn’t quite understand what she means and becomes extremely
paranoid of everyone in his crew. He kicks some of his posse out and makes a diss

track to his haters called JE$U$ “Don’t Cro$$ Me” CHRI$T which is a huge success
boosting him to more fame. God is extremely frustrated so sends Zoe back up from
an angel, Adolfo. Adolfo, a 50 year old angel, has had a bad attitude up in heaven so
God is forces him to stay on earth and assist Zoe as punishment. Adolfo isn’t exactly
very helpful to Zoe and starts to become more of a bad house guest.
As Zoe tries to get closer and closer to Ch Rist aka Imperial Bling, her psychic
abilities are questioned. Luke and his crew are sometimes suspicious of her motives
and Zoe has to talk her way back into a job. She often enlists Adolfo to help her out.
The season focuses on Meg’s quest to start her dream business, an
exclusively hispanic drag strip club at the midpoint. Meg starts to get serious about
her dream. She starts looking for ways to open her club but most of the time the
schemes end badly. However, she doesn’t lose hope. Along the way, she gets help
from Zoe who is more than willing to help her. Because they are together a lot Meg
notices Adolfo around Zoe a lot. Even though Adolfo introduces himself to Meg as
Zoe’s dad, Meg is suspicious of who he is. From the start she does not trust him and
does not put up with his attitude or the way he treats Zoe. As Meg and Zoe get close,
she begins to notice certain things about Zoe and her peculiarities. Towards the end
of the season around the ¾ point, Meg overhears Zoe and Adolfo arguing about
God’s plan for them. She automatically thinks that they’re crazy and possibly in a
cult so tried to get Zoe away from Adolfo. Zoe confesses to her and Meg runs away,
overwhelmed and confused. Zoe has to reconcile with Meg and repair the friendship.
The season will build up to a major Vegas residency show for ChRist aka
Imperial Bling in which he plans to prove his divinity by walking naked through a
wall of fire, a stunt that Luke has secretly coerced him to do. Zoe knows that this will
result in ChRist’s death and does everything to stop him from doing it while
enlisting Adolfo and her new earthly friends to help. She ultimately is able to stop
the fire but not before ChRist realizes he would have burned to death. Angry that
ChRist’s soul was not claimed, a demon superior to Luke appears to see why the wall
of fire did not happen. In doing this, he reveals Luke’s true demonic nature to Zoe
who is heartbroken from betrayal. She commands Luke to never speak to her again.
Pilot Episode
Zoe arrives in Las Vegas straight out of Heaven knowing no one and having
no place to live. She goes to the first place she sees, a club. Whilst at the club she see
a loud and lively drag queen being fired. Zoe has an urge to save everyone and since
God has not given her a specific mission, she tries to save Meg by befriending her.
They walk around the city and eventually stumble upon one of Meg’s old haunts; an
abandon wedding chapel. The building excites and comforts Zoe as she is familiar
with the heavenly imagery. They decide to take over the place and become
roommates. Meg tells Zoe about her dreams to own an all hispanic drag strip club
one day, but now she must get a job to get back on her feet. Zoe wants to be honest
with Meg but has to hide the fact that she is an angel. The following day, God
contacts Zoe and gives her the insane task of saving the soul of notoriously
delusional rapper, Ch Rist aka Imperial Bling, who has convinced many of his
millions of followers that he is the second coming of Christ. Zoe mentions to Meg
that she is a fan and Meg introduces Zoe to twitter. Ch Rist aka Imperial Bling is

extremely active on twitter and Zoe is able to track him down but their first
interaction does not go as planned. Later she sees him tweet that he is in need of a
new psychic. Meg conveniently knows where Ch Rist aka Imperial Bling lives, as she
performed at an event at his house a long time ago. Zoe studies up on psychics and
the following day goes to Ch Rist aka Imperial Bling’s house to try to convince him
that she is the psychic he has been looking for. It is tricky, but she convinces him and
is let into his circle where she is introduced to his attractive assistant Luke, who is
less than excited to add a new person to the entourage.
B-Plots
One subplot involves Meg’s dream to own her own club. She holds events
trying to raise money to open one. She goes around Las Vegas trying to raise money
and never seems to manage to get anyone to listen. She is still the happy loveable
person even though she doesn’t succeed at first with opening her club. In addition to
trying to raise funds, she holds auditions at the chapel for strippers that she can hire
for her club. She is ambitious and does not give up on her dream.
Another subplot is when Adolfo is oddly accepted into ChRist aka Imperial
Bling’s ‘posse’. Driven by his need to be accepted by his newfound earthly gang of
friends, he is distracted from his initial intentions (to assist Zoe and maintain
damage control). He embarks on off-the-beat VIP adventures and explores the world
of his new chums. He seems like the odd one out but seems to be happy in his new
position. He is no longer as angry as he used to be.
Ch Rist aka Imperial Bling has a crazy stalker fan who grows suspicious of Zoe. This
is partly due to jealousy over Zoe and ChRist aka Imperial Bling’s relationship. Over
the course of the series, she tries to discover Zoe’s true intentions and discredit her
psychic abilities. Zoe must politely keep her out of the way and at times tries to ease
her suspicions
